Coyotes, jackrabbits and great horned owls all call this little mountain home. You can hear the owls at sunset on most winter nights, coyotes year-round, and nightjars in the spring. The roadrunners, kestler falcons and 2 species of owls arent around anymore because the dense brush is gone. Remember to enjoy the desert. The parking lot has 20 spaces, one is for handicap parking. Theres another parking area on the southeast side with 40-50 spaces at Lookout Mountain Park

Love this little mountain for a quick spur of the moment hike break. The NE peak is quick to get to and has a nice wide plateau to stop at and relax. The SW peak is much smaller and a little steeper to hang out on, but less people go up this route. My only gripe is the main parking lot can get full, so try to visit when the crowds are away.

Im guessing Paul McCartney was singing about Lookout Mountain when he serenaded us with, "the long and winding road, that leads me to your summit". Well, it seems that The Walrus had a flair for exaggeration. While the path was truly winding, it really wasnt that long. Total time up and back was 29:18. Pretty easy hike.

I live on Lookout Mountain, parents lived here through high school. Its just cozy, and one of the few area Mtns with good sheer walls for rock climbing. It also boasts a challenging trail and a super duper easy going trail below that, and both go completely around the foothill areas of Lookout.

Great for hiking! Multiple trails but none that are overly difficult. Getting to the peak may be difficult for those who are inexperienced. Great views and not too crowded, even on weekends. Would definitely recommend for a quick urban hike.

Love this mountain to hike. You can take the long way around and make it a good couple hours or hike right up to the top which can be a great challenge. Beautiful place to go at sunset is around to the parking off 16th St on the north side.

Good trail options, lots of signage for the circumference trails. Peak trail can be dodgy for inexperienced hikers, but otherwise fine if you take your time. Short hikes, can do the whole circuit in an hour or so plus the peak.

Great trails for hiking and fitness with lots of options based on fitness and skill levels. The location is easily accessible, pet and family friendly and the views from the top are some of the best in Phoenix.

Great golf course. Had GPS and fly over for each hole. Remember this is a big loop do no going back to the club house after 9. The lounge is D- way too dark to enjoy after a great round

Nice hiking. There are many trails to choose from, whether you want to hike a steep trail, or a long flatter trail. My daughter takes our dog and her friends and goes at least 3 days a week.

This mountain is great! There are multiple options for trails but overall its a fairly easy hike. The parking lot is pretty small so on the weekends it can be hard to get a spot.

Quick easy hike up to the saddle. Even my 4 year old makes the summit. There is a steep part near summit that can be difficult for some. Its never very busy.

This is a great little mountain in north Phoenix area. The park is clean with ample parking spaces. There is no bathroom, however. The hike is easy for kids.

Nice little hike, elevation doesnt go higher than 1000ft in elevation. Watch out for warning signs for bees. Seem some chuckwallas there.
