I am grading this on a curve- this is not the nicest facility I have been to, but I dont recall more than two skating rinks that I would dub as being really nice. That being said, this joint is as nice as most others. They keep it clean from what I can tell. The staff here has always been awesome. ...Which is weird because they are all pretty young and young people these days are supposed to be crap or something, right? NOT SO. These high schoolers and young adults seem to take care of business. They dont emit vibes of hating their jobs. They dont act inconvenienced when people are asking for help or whatnot and they maintain composure when dealing with difficult customers, though I have only seen a couple people give anyone flack here, and that has been in relation to there being a line at the snack bar. Sorry sucka, get to the back of the line. Weve all been there. They have a couple really nice looking video arcade games along with a few standards like Ski-Ball, basketball and "skill" games. This is where I feel they could use a little boost- with arcades becoming so popular, if they upped their game in that arena I think they could pull in significantly more clientele, but perhaps they dont need it, I dont know. I cannot vouch for their equipment; I am a photographer and every time I have been here it has been to photograph an event of some sort, not to skate. I think I will try to skate the next time I am there since I have insurance that will cover me when I fall and fracture every single bone in my body and somehow get a skate wheel stuck in me bum. I may have skated once since I was in middle school, which was back in 33. OMG JK, like, like, um, so, like. Sorry, I was trying to fit in with the youngsters just then. They have a prize booth that looks pretty dope, by the way. Pokémon and errythang. The parking lot isnt that good. This place is in a plaza where there seems to be ample space in theory, but in execution the thing is usually full. There is, however, a side lot that is to the south of the skating facility, although when it is empty it seems like the post-apocalyptic version of a parking lot. That poor parking lot sure could use some TLC. All in all, grading on a curve, I see no reason to deduct stars. IF the place was expensive I would grade it differently, but the buck stretches enough here for it to be a good value. You thought I was going to wrap up this review without mentioning the skate floor. GOTCHA! Their skating area seems well maintained. Its a standard size and has plenty of cool lighting, disco balls, etc. in the ceiling overhead.

We paid for a classic birthday package and I know that its the "cheapest" package but that shouldnt mean we get less. First, when i spoke with the manager the day before the party I was told that we would be in the birthday party area (under the black lights) however day of the party we ended up at a back table by the restrooms. It was bright and we were next to people who werent having parties so it defeated the purpose of feeling like we were celebrating a birthday party. If I knew we were going to be shoved in the back of the building, I wouldnt have paid to have a birthday party there. We couldnt hear anything the DJ said so when we were told "the DJ will announce when the pizza is ready" we couldnt hear it so we all had to just stay at the table to avoid missing something. Also, when my daughter was able to talk over the DJ mic, no one in the party heard her which was a let down. We felt like we had to rush through pizza, cake, and prize wheel because there was little communication as our party host was busy with other tables (which is understandable). On top of all of that, when we got home we found out that we were charged twice for the party. This may not seem like a big deal to some however we spent over $200 at Great Skate and the experience was less than desirable. The food was good, the host was nice, and my daughter had fun skating but I will never have another birthday party at Great Skate and suggest friends and family to bypass Great Skate as a birthday party option also.

We heard about great skate from a friend who had her daughters party there. My three girls had a great time. The website was great in showing pictures and details of the facility and the prices were AMAZING for group parties. When I called to confirm, they were extremely polite and took my deposit. Fast forward to today, the day of the party, and we had the BEST time!!! The staff was soooooooo friendly and super fun and helpful. We had no problems getting our skates and reservation was set up and all ready for us when we got there. Our amazing host Raquel promised us an amazing time and boy did she deliver!!! She gave the birthday girl glowing headband and stickers and had the DJ announce her name. The skating rink was extremely clean, well lit, and all the arcade games were working properly. We had plenty of drinks during the entire party and the extra pizza we bought was well priced and very, very tasty...which was such a nice surprise!!! They even took my homemade birthday cake, but it up, put them on decorative plates and brought them out to us. We also got enough free passes for everyone at the party to come back! Everyone had the best time and we will be having every 10yr birthday with my other children at Great Skate!!! I might even have my 40th birthday there because skating after 25 years was super fun too. Thank you great skate for your amazing prices, super sweet staff and amazing facility...we are coming back for sure!!!

This place has discounts available on groupon. The birthday package was sold out until today. So I tried to book for a birthday for tonight as soon as the groupon became available again. I spoke with Rodney VERY rude and unprofessional. He first told me that they dont accept groupons on fridays which is not true they dont except them on saturdays and once I told him that this is untrue he admitted he was wrong and did not apologize instead got a bad attitude. I told him I didnt like his attitude he then started to tell me he didnt like my attitude... very rude. I asked him who else I could speak with he told me "his boss" I then asked who his boss was he responded by saying the DM and when I asked for The DMs name he refused to give me the DMs name. I asked him again who else I could speak to he told me no one. I said isnt there a corporate office ? He said yes but didnt offer the number. It was like pulling teeth to get any help out of this guy. I asked for the number he gave it to me and I asked for the DMs name again and he refused to give it to me ... told me he wasnt going to play my games...and then hung up on me. I called back to ask for the DMs name again he refused to give me the DMs name again. he started yelling at me and hung up again. Im contacting corporate. I hope they do something this
