Ive heard a lot of great reviews regarding the golf course at Rasberry Falls, and unfortunately after my day out here, Ill admit that I was a bit disappointed. Many reviews mentioned the excellent service at this club, but the service I received was sub par at best. Although there was plenty of outside staff on hand during my return and after my round, no individuals asked to help with my bag. I put my bag on and off the cart myself. This isnt a big deal at most public clubs in the area, but when you have 3-4 outside staff available at a slow time on the course, taking golf bags, loading them on the cart, etc. should be considered bare minimum standards. In addition, the assistant in the golf shop was extremely slow. It took me 20 mins to pay for my round and purchase a dozen golfballs when there were no calls into the shop and I was the only person in the shop. With regards to the course, there are some great holes (mainly on the back nine). This is a course that often favors individuals who cut/fade the ball, so there are plenty of holes where you can get lucky if you dont hit it straight. The course was in good shape considering I played in the middle of July, however, I had some big issues when I noticed some big rocks (some the size of my fist) and garbage in a number of bunkers. To me, large rocks and stones in the trap are blatent oversights by the crews staff. Ill admit that the layout of the course is one of the better layouts in the area, however, the actual course and the service fell far below the reputation of this course.

Im far from what I (or anyone) would call a "GOOD" golfer but I really enjoyed my time here this past weekend. The course is in great shape (its early in the season right now) and pace of play was pretty quick for the length of the course. Fairways are pretty wide so novices can have just as much fun as their more advanced playing partners (who will appreciate the length, difficulty of shots from the rough, and speed/undulation of the greens). We had a ton of rain the day before so it was a bit soggy, but drainage was good and most of the traps were dry by about 12 hours after the rain had stopped. This was likely the reason for the abnormal shortage in customers. Overall, I was expecting the worst and pleasantly surprised with the conditions. This is a relatively expensive course by my standards (not for this area though), but if you can get a deal its worth the money. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You wont regret paying the little extra for what you get. (Additionally: thanks for the staffing of club concierge type services. Its a nice touch and makes you feel like your patronage is really valued. Nothing better than getting out of your car only to have someone pull up and ask if youd like to have your clubs taken to the range area for you!)

How the mighty have fallen. I love the layout but the conditions are just horrible. I played in late August of 2016 and Ive never seen it in such bad shape. They hosted a full field event here and the head pro said the conditions were pretty good and that we should play the ball down. Man, was he wrong. The tee boxes for #3 and #18 were as usual covered with crabgrass and not mowed at all. Every fairway was half grass, half sandy dirt. Every green was just terrible. Golf balls were jumping way off line, even on short putts. A member the day before told me to not play in the event because of the terrible conditions since mid-July, but I just couldnt believe it. Now I understand. Only good thing about today was they have new range mats. Thats about it.

amazing design, friendly staff, perfect ratio of class to casual for a golf course.... i love this course, everyone is super friendly, only problem is that players tend to be extremely slow so its easy to lose your flow, however the only (public) course in the dc area i rather play is whisky creek

Nice golf course not too far from DC. Well maintained and beautiful golf course... Great value for your money. except one thing ... no sand in sand bunkers, mostly mud... Please add real sand... it will be truly wonderful golf course (or was it supposed to be a mud bunker..?)

Good course, challenging layout. Greens were rolling true and fast. Price is on the high side but ultimately you get what you pay for.

Despite an amazing summer with decent temperatures and some rain, the course is in bad condition. Plus the pace of play is awful.
