The course has improved by leaps and bounds..The Superintendent and his crew have worked miracles repairing the winter kill damage that many courses in the area have experienced. I play this course on a regular basis and have observed the progress that they have made in such a short period of time. The greens are smooth and roll very well. I shot 72 and contibutue that to the condition of those greens.. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is wonderful ! This course is well worth your hard earned money! My friends love the course as well. They save they love the huge Fairways and Massive Greens. That they feel comfortable playing without being rushed by Ringers waiting behind you to play. Plus they can Fade, Slice, Hook, and Draw in the fairways and still find their ball after a bad drive.

Played this course today. I consider this a value course. How you rate it clearly depends on your expectations. If youre looking for good greens, generous fairways, good pace of play, low costs and friendly staff, consider this course. If youre looking for manicured fairways, trimmed rough, challenging hazards and picturesque views, keep looking. Fairways are mowed but arent bent or bermuda plush grass but theyre very playable. No real greenside bunkers per say but there are some sand waste areas and all the cart paths were sand. Overall we had a very fun time, manageable yardages and nice greens. Would recommend depending on what youre looking for.

Great course for beginners, casual golfers, or players who are simply looking for a relaxed and laid back golf experience. No bunkers/sand traps anywhere on this course making it ideal for practicing your short game around the greens. Great staff, but Frank the greenskeeper and course maintenance man is especially friendly and helpful. The course is loaded with beautiful scenery as its located just outside of Wilmington in a remote country setting. If you want an affordable course free from the noise of busy streets and uptight golf elitists, then Old Fort Golf Course in Winnabow NC is definitely for you.

first time back to this golf course, after 2 years away, and I live over 25 miles away,it was time to check it out again, the person at the counter Jake was excellent the way he treated me , I felt like I was at the masters course,he made me feel welcome and relax to play hear again,my experience was great the course was good and I will be back with friends,thank you, Jake great person to have representing your golf course.

This is a very relaxed course and has a very friendly staff. I love the course. Very afforadable and is a great place to better your game. Smooth cart paths. Very rural area... Huge plus for me. Open fairways.

We had a blast here today! What a hidden gem. Great for juniors. Not intimidating, not too crowded and not too expensive.
