This winery is the worst Ive been to. Initially, we entered with the expectation that this was a well-run establishment and were severely disappointed with the level of service we received. Upon entering on a hot day, we saw a sign for blackberry slushies. Excited, we asked for one at the counter and were told that the machine was broken. Understanding that malfunctions happen, I suggested that the sign be changed to reflect the current status of unavailable frozen delights and my suggestion seemed shrugged off. I then noticed how unbearably hot it was in the building and I asked if the ac was also broken and was informed that because the door were open the ac was ineffective. With this in mind, I would think that the doors could be closed such that people who want to be outside can enjoy the deck, but so that people with low heat tolerance can escape inside. Im sure heat that high poses a health risk especially when alcohol is involved as it thins the blood. Furthermore, when we went upstairs, we found that the slushie machine was, in fact, working. This now poses the question: are your employees uninformed or just plain lazy? My guess is lazy. As my partner went to purchase more wine and cheese, he asked several questions to an employee who was not well-informed of your products nor where to find them. Her attitude was also less than satisfactory. I can imagine three reasons behind this or a combination. Here are the factors: poor work environment with horrible temps, laziness, or just general bad temper. All of these are unacceptable in such an establishment. On top of everything, we came back down to our bus to find Amy (the wedding planner) demanding that our bus be moved to the bottom of the hill--which seemed excessive once she explained that she only needed to get her car by. While her attitude was poor, I cannot entirely blame her as this place is horribly designed, logistically speaking. We then had several people rushing our bus out which is very unprofessional as we called ahead of time to express that we would have a bus with a large number of people. In any case, we are paying customers and we all contributed to your income. Youre welcome, by the way. This is also the last time we will visit and the last time we will pay for your services as we definitely would not have a wedding reception here as it seems you cannot appropriately accommodate one without losing temper and treating your guests and paying customers with less respect than they deserve. Thank you for the little accommodation we did receive and I hope your business continues to grow based on the critique of your customers. Change leads to growth, so embrace it and accept this criticism as a chance to do better. Yours Truly, Ashley Russell

Almost everything you read on these reviews about the Bluemont Vineyard is true! Its all about timing. It can be very crowded and service is hard to get immediately and Im sure the wait staff is stressed. In fact, I think every time Ive been to Bluemont its either full, crowded or very crowded. The view is the best, and I mean THE best.. However, if you dont pack some patience or a least lower your expectations on fast service, youll come away frustrated. The wine is good and the one time Ive had food there, it was more than satisfactory and not typical winery fare. The bathrooms are in short supply and there always seems to be a long line. I think they added port-a-pots outside, which were needed. My advice go on a weekday and avoid the big crowds, if you cant, make this the last stop on your wine tour and youll be mellow enough to enjoy the view and put up with the crowds.

The staff was friendly but seemed a bit stressed for the small amount of people that were there. The view was amazing but from what Ive heard prior to visiting and my experience here many patrons need to learn proper etiquette for a winery. Its nice to relax and sip wine taking in the view but its not nice to hear a large group with too much wine screaming and shouting. The wine was a not the best. The whites were pretty crisp and clean but the reds had a similar taste to one another with a metallic after taste. Being a huge red fan this was disappointing. So I guess my brief take away would be: "Excellent view with reasonably friendly staff but groups are often loud and the wine isnt worth the price."

First time visiting this winery and I have to say not impressed with the service. We ordered the reserve tasting that requires the staff go go over the wines well the lady took our order and we went to sit on the upper deck after 20 min I had to go in and ask for the wines and her response was did I order them I told her yes she then rushed them out and instead of going over the wines she handed us a menu and told us we could read about each wine. Well as you can guess we will never be visiting this winery again and we will not recommend it to any friends or family. Its not worth the money or the time the rely on the view to get customers in but its not good with the service being so poor.

Beautiful views, lots and lots of seating, the staff member who did our tasting was super accommodating and patient as we tasted so I didnt feel rushed. He even threw in another wine (peach wine!) for the tasting because he heard us mention it to each other. We ended up going with a bottle of that so thank you staff member for being flexible. Food was super yummy and the food menu was extensive which is better than the BYOF wineries I have near me in Baltimore. Best of all, the atmosphere outside was absolutely stunning, peaceful and perfect for enjoying a bottle and snacking. I cant wait to be back.

While normally a bit far out from DC for us, we like Bluemont. Their tasting room is up on a hill with nice views of the valley below. The staff seemed a little frazzled but nice. The wines were decent. Previously they had each wine associated with an animal name and logo, but that seems to be less common now. The table red is surprisingly decent. For a snack, the Italian comfort Duo with burrata is delicious and a nice pairing with the wines. They have a little shop of nick nacks and such to walk through as well. Recommended if youre up for a drive or find yourself in the area.

What can I say about Bluemont Vineyard? Only that they helped me to plan and execute the best wedding day I couldve asked for! A million thank yous to Amy Thunell and all the other Bluemont staff. Everyone was so professional and personable. They had every answer to every question and solutions for everything. I gush only because theyre awesome at what they do. I am very happy with Bluemont and the beautiful wedding I had at the Stable. I will be back frequently to reminisce and enjoy their wine and beautiful view.

Really enjoyed this winery! Lots of outdoor seating and incredible views. Im far from a wine connoisseur and not a huge drinker but went bananas for the wine slushees they have - amazing. Was impressed with their food selection. I was surprised at the amount of children running around (!), many people also brought their dogs. It was pretty crowded and service was a little slow, but it was a great way to spend a Sunday evening with friends.
