Very nice staff who are helpful with any questions. The theater is very nice and comparable to larger theaters, such as the Regal Pinnacle 16 in Knoxville. The lobby is extremely nice and well-designed. The MXC screens are just about 8 ft smaller than the Knoxville Imax screen. Dolby Atmos surround sound is immersive. The power leather recliners are comfortable; however, several are starting to show wear just 7 months since the theater opened. Seats are reserved when you purchase your assigned seat online or at the kiosks in the lobby. I have bought many tickets in advance for the opening weekends of big movies. Snacks are way over-priced compared to other theaters, but ticket prices are reasonable. The theaters are progressively smaller as you go down each hall. Older movies play in the smaller theaters. Party rooms are available. Rest rooms are of reasonable quality. Overall the Marquee Pinnacle 12 is very nice and by far the best movie theater in the Tri-cities. I just wish they had built it with 16 theaters and a larger outdoor lighted area that would compare to the Regal Pinnacle 16 in Knoxville. It just has more of a Hollywood blockbuster feel.

The nicest thing about this place is the chairs. Thats the only reason it gets two stars. The concession had zero ice for drinks and it was a Tuesday night so not busy at all. They talk about "free refills". Well, thats fine if you dont have kids. They wouldnt refill the kids pack drink or popcorn. And when asked why, all I got was sarcasm and rude responses. How do you not refill a kids pack? Bad policy. I spent $75 dollars to bring the family here and you cant give simple small refills to my children? But youll give refill on a large adult order? The staff needs to go to customer service school and learn some manners. From the ticket sales counter, to the concessions, the staff acted distracted and like they didnt want to be there. Not matter how nice the theater was, I will not be back. Going back to drive-in next time.

We enjoyed watching Zootopia, so glad I came to the theater to see it instead of waiting for DVD like I usually do. The sound/audio was perfect. The stadium seating is great so that if people walk by or sit in front of you, your view isnt blocked. They also have THE best soda pop machine, they dont skimp on the syrup like everybody else does. The soda was the best Ive had in 25 years: perfectly sweet and bubbly. Also the popcorn was fresh and crispy. The personal pizza, however, was not so good, but its hard to do instant pizza, and nobody else gets it right, so I cant hold that against them. It was nice they offered the option, though. Maybe do a pizza hot pocket instead? All the employees were supremely friendly. We had a great time and it was worth the money.

This place cheated us out of over $100! My husband made reservations online. When we arrived at the theatre we were told that the tickets were actuall for the previous day. Since it was obvious in their system that the tickets hadnt been used we were sent to the ticket desk so they could change them. When we got to the ticket desk a very rude young lady with bright red hair said she couldnt help us. We had spent $100 on tickets and refreshments. This was my daughters birthday and she had looked forward to this all week.we couldnt afford any more tickets!!! This lady refused to help a family with a crying 11 year old. No morals and no feelings for their customers. Shame on you Marquee Cinemas! Money hungry cheaters!!!!

Im not as impressed as I thought I would be. Yea the seats do recline but theyre not that comfortable. Both times Ive been I find myself fidgeting after a short time trying to get comfortable. The bright blue recliner lights are distracting, they should dim those with the rest of the lights. Also, when the theater is 75% empty why should I have to sit where you tell me to and have to share an arm rest with a complete stranger when there are rows and rows of empty seats?? Oh...and the bathrooms were in bad need of attention. I could actually see where someone had written their name in the dust on the stall walls. Or maybe Im just used to clean restrooms.

Wonderful cinema... Ive only been in the MXC theater version 4 times. Which is more money. And more money if its in 3D. If i had to complain about something. It would be the POPCORN. THE POPCORN IS AWFUL!... its like eating styrofoam with butter on it. Its a luxury movie theater. They should have the best popcorn in the area. Popcorn is part of watching a good movie. I tried it once. I tried it for my 2nd / last time. Its AWFUL. FYI if youre really into POPCORN. Johnson city Carmike now AMC movie theater. Has the best popcorn in the area. The theater is not as good as the Pinnacle but the popcorn make you think about going there.

Nice / new theater. However... Seats were hard and not that comfortable even though they recline. Blue cup holder light that is illuminated throughout the movie is very annoying. The movie seemed blurry to me. Almost like the projector was not in focus. Seat reservation is ok if you are going to an opening night blockbuster. But other than that scenario, it is just extra annoying steps. Cost is too high at Marqee. Bottom line: Ill be going to Tinseltown at exit 7 or Abingdon Cinemall for the foreseeable future.

Awesome Movie Theater Experience! We went here for the new Star Wars move, "The Force Awakens". The theater is beautifully designed inside and out. There is LOTS of room with very comfortable powered reclining seats. The picture quality is amazing! The sound is also very high quality although very loud. As we read the reviews before going to this theater we were prepared with ear plugs. We highly recommend this movie theater being very confident you will have a highly satisfactory experience!

Has annoying bright blue lights in each seat arm rest will that are on the entire movie. Ruins the movie experience when you have LEDs in the corner of your eyes. Also the shinny floors reflect the isle lights so they are right in your eyes during the whole time. Great recliners, to bad the extra lighting stinks. The snack counter is not typical. Order food at one counter and get the cup at anonther. They tried to be different an just screwed it up. Not a repeat customer.

Amazing cinema!! I drive 45 minutes just to come here! On Christmas my whole family watched movies all day and we loved it. The MXC theater is amazing!! Everyone should at least try it once! I hate to see negative reviews about the "blue light cup holders". Look I like them and I think they actually help with drink placement. I am happy you come back to the Tri Cities but Kingsport is in need of a new theater. And it is definitely not Franks!!!

Outstanding theatre and a real comfortable and entertaining experience, however prices are steep in comparison to others in the area. You are obviously paying for the comfort and experience, which isnt a bad trade-off. Self-service concessions and reclining seats are a major plus. Screens are bright and vivid and the sound is top notch (Dolby Atmos is fantastic). Go for the Matinee and costs are in line to where they need to be.
