If you want to have the BEST SEAFOOD DINNER YOU HAVE EVER HAD, get the King Crab Legs at the Freighthouse. As a local business owner, I take corporate associates out quite often who have dined at some of the best restaurants in the world. They are amazed at the quality and quantity of the food and the excellent service. My family and I have chosen this as the #1 Place to go for special occasions. If you are not a fan of seafood, see if you can tackle the Engineers Cut of Prime Rib? You cannot go wrong here. The owners Jon, Tom and Tom are very accommodating as I have booked their restaurant for our company Christmas Party of up to 100 and they do an excellent job. Keep up the great service! Ps. Dont forget the Grass Hopper Pie for dessert...Mind Blowing!!!

I took my wifes family there for dinner and it was great! The drinks were very reasonably priced with a great atmosphere. Everyone got something different to eat and it was perfect. The wait staff was more than helpful! I think we had 3 different people filling our drinks throughout the meal. Jon was there from the beginning to the end with a great welcome for my family and to tell us goodnight. He really made me look good in front of the in-laws;) The hospitality and service were just all around great! I will definitely be back! Thanks Jon Erickson and The Freighthouse Crew!

We always love eating at the Freight House. The salad bar is excellent. Our fish was excellent. Baked potato was a little over done. Our waitress referred to us as "YOU GUYS" so many times that it was funny. We are not "YOU GUYS" we are paying customers that should be addressed better than "YOU GUYS". She was in such a rush that we had to ask her to repeat things & that we needed more time. I think that a restaurant like the Freight House would have their staff use proper grammar when working with customers.

I agree with most of the other 3 star reviews. The freight house seems like it should be an excellent place to eat, and it can be! We have eaten there several times and enjoy the atmosphere and the salad bar. The bartenders in the lounge excellent. On a few occassions we have had poor service and excellent food and vice versa. But when there is more than one occassion where we have poor service and the food is not done correctly, well, then I guess all we can say is, its just okay :(

I had the opportunity to visit LaCrosse, Wi. this past week and the total experience was outstanding! We went to the Freighthouse for steak dinners...WOW! The prime rib I ordered was a good 20 oz which appeared to be more of a 30 oz. Huge! Cooked med. rare to perfection. Outside in flavor throughout and the cut was about 3 inches thick! It was prepared PERFECT. I believe it was called the "Express." Do Lacrosse, do the Freighthouse, enjoy fine dining!

The best restaurant Ive ever been to. My girlfriend took me there because she is from the lacrosse area and we had non stop smiles on our face the entire time and had a great night. The steak was perfect Id recommend just getting the 12 oz instead of the 20 because the steak was huge it was like a 40 oz steak not 20. Well worth the price you pay to eat. Would recommend this place to everyone

Ive been to the Freighthouse several times and its usually pretty good. Theyre known for the crab legs. Ive usually had steaks and theyre done correctly and juicy. The salad bar is great with homemade dressing. This last time, I had the peppercorn New York strip and I wasnt all that impressed. I like pepper, but this wasnt quite what I was hoping for. The vanilla cheesecake was great.

The wait for a table was ok (40 minutes), however we sat at it for over 20 minutes waiting for our waiter...the entertainment was top notch though, we watched our waiter crack a diners entire crab leg plate for him, then immediately after, wipe and set a completely new table with cutlery, napkins and glassware... Without washing his hands. We got up and left without ever ordering.

Great food. While they focus on more meat-and-potatoes options, they have an excellent selection of fish, other seafood, and some pastas. What Ive always been impressed by are the portion sizes. The picture provided shows my 12oz. prime rib. Well into dinner service, theyre still serving steaks considerably larger than the stated size. Also shown is my wifes halibut and shrimp.

Was there for my wifes birthday, as always the food was outstanding, and the service was great. My Prime Rib was super, and my wife thought her King Crab was first rate. It always seems to work out that we take some food home with us, it sure makes for a great lunch the next day!! T.O. and crew keep up the good work!!

We had our rehearsal dinner here a few months ago, and it was wonderful! The food was delicious (especially the salad bar-wow!) and all of the servers/bartenders were kind and helpful. They checked in with my husband and me multiple times to make sure everything was going as we planned. Great restaurant!

Very disappointed with the Freight House. Went with a group of 15 for a graduation celebration and most of the food, steak and seafood, was over cooked and not very tasty. It was expensive, which I dont mind paying for good quality, but this was not. Salad bar very limited and service was slow.

Over-priced and bland food with very friendly service at a fun location with pleasant live music on the weekends. This was the takeaway by 3 people in a party of 6, all of whom ordered different entrées. I will try this place again but I will definitely order something different.

Our large group was in on Sunday to celebrate my sisters graduation and mothers day. Shout out to our server Billy who was attentive and very nice. The food was excellent and nearly everyone cleared their plate. It is a pricey place but pur experience was great.

You cant go wrong with a steak item here & the Alaskan King Crab is to die for... Try hard to leave a little room for an ice cream drink. Bar area is always cozy especially with the fireplace and classic drinks are consistently good!

For my personal taste this restaurant was ok. I felt for what you pay, it wasnt the best meal Ive had. However, the waitress was super friendly and the dim lighting and atmosphere was unique.

Great service and top-notch food. I had the 12oz chopped sirloin (huge) and my sister had salmon. Fantastic salad bar and bread. Well worth the price!
