Ive been playing the Cardinal course at Deer Run since middle school. Its a great course for the price. The back nine is long so make sure you drink plenty of water and get a gatorade/snickers. Otherwise youll be screaming rat-farts every time you swing the club.

Newport news is a great place to play a round a golf...very reasonable rates and great staff. The Greens are not super fast, but they in good shape, so I would say slow beats dead and dried out. The courses are also both really good tests for your game.

The golg course in in exceptional shape, the Grille food and staff were fantastic. It felt like being at an upscale country club but the prices were really low- a pitcher for $6.00 and draft or cans for $3.00! It is like happy hour all the time.

Newport News golf course is a well kept a nice course. It is not overly expensive but provides a good bang for your buck. The course is long but not terrible difficult although there is a significant amount of woods.

It was hot and the beer/drink girl we saw 1 time in 18 holes!!!!! The food was horrible!!! The girls there all seem to have an attitude!! I will never go back!!! Its cheap and you get cheap service!!!

Decent course well maintained for a public golf course, great place for golf lessons. Nice driving range with accurate yardages signs, only downside no sand bunkers to practice in.

I had a great day of golf at Newport News Golf Club. We were just a twosome. Everything is in good shape right now. Play was what I consider fast. 4 hours for 18 holes.

Inadequate putting green, very small and sloping. No practice sand trap for public use. The courses are usually in great condition.
