I booked a "Stay Well" room for three nights (Thursday - Sunday). Please check my other reviews, I never write negative reviews. I have Elite Statue with Marriott, which makes this experience even worse. A day prior to arriving I called to confirm my stay. My reservation for Saturday night had been bumped. I spent twenty minutes on hold, waiting to get in touch with a manager, to get my reservation straightened out. Finally, the reservation was corrected fixed. I am glad I called ahead, as Saturday night was sold out. Upon arriving my room was very hot. I woke up on Saturday morning and was sweating. My wife and son couldnt sleep through the night. I would guess it was 80+ degrees in our room. I complained to management every day over the course of our stay. I received many different answers as to what the problem was. The answers ranged from it was unseasonably warm outside to the cooling system was not working, but would be repaired Monday (a day after we checked out). On Saturday morning I was in the pool with my son. There were no towels in the pool. I called the front desk and spoke to the front desk manager who said they would bring towels to the pool, which never happened. After swimming, my son and I walked soaking wet through the hotel, to the front desk to get towels. The hotel was out of everything. No Red Bull, no chocolate milk for my son in the M Lounge. Very disappointing. On Saturday night the elevators smelled like marijuana. Partying was going on well into the morning. Doors were slamming all night in the halls, drunk people everywhere. The condition of the hotel was subpar. The elevators had sticky stuff spilled in them on Saturday morning and were never cleaned out. My son ruined a pair of shoes from whatever it was. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with this hotel. I paid a premium for a "Stay Well" room because my comfort is important. What a major disappointment. I wont be staying here again.

Falls short in some areas – mostly customer service based stuff. 3 Days in a row, breakfast was NOT ready at the advertised time (06:30) within the concierge/executive lounge - causing me to run late every morning!. The breakfast attendant lady was babbling with excuses every morning about why it was not ready. She was a little nasty at times. On Monday morning she claimed that the weekend manager failed to clean-up which caused breakfast to be late. Huh? I saw the gentleman from the front desk come in to get himself a milk, and I asked him to tell his manager that perhaps the kitchen or concierge lounge lady needs some help preparing – and he was clueless and unresponsive. Grabbed his milk and went to the front desk. On Wednesday she babbled about their being only 1 cook in the kitchen and that he gets here at 4:30 am. OK! How many chefs does it take to cook a batch of eggs and bacon? And that is what there was each day – late, followed by excuses. No trash can lines in trash cans within the room. This is highly disgusting! I think they just don’t care enough about the guest to provide this important sanitary feature. Shower was the best part, nice pressure and nice glass door shower. Front desk staff are blah and seem to ignore the guest when they pass by. I think the better option is the Hyatt or Hilton Garden Inn - across the street.

I wanted to say thank you for such a lovely stay. This particular Marriott has been by far the most enjoyable one. From the time we walked in the door and was greeted by the bell hop to our experience with checkin.( Brittney ) The room was exceptional. Traveling with small children and a young adult was rough, but to be able to go into the M Club and get drinks and snacks made it much easier. The staff in the dining room (Venus I believe was her name) was great. The pool was a little cold the first night but when asked to turn up the temp the next day there was no hesitation. We travel often and have stayed in many hotels in the area and you guys totally beat the rest. And I had to just let it be known and say thank you for making out stay wonderful. The Vassor Family

This hotel was great! It looks like its somewhat-freshly renovated and I loved the modern look and feel. I tend to stay at and enjoy Marriott hotels, and I feel like it embodies the Marriott brand pretty well. I cant speak to most of the hotels amenities because Im the kind of person that just needs a good room to crash in for a few nights. The room was great though. The lighting in the room was notable for its unique ambiance and I always enjoy the stone countertops and walk-in showers in the bathrooms. This hotel is situated somewhat outside of the core of Richmond, but aside from evening traffic on weekdays, its very easy to get to and its a quiet, beautifully green area. I would definitely stay again should I return to Richmond in the future.

Its a really nice looking hotel. The room I stayed in was very modern. I enjoyed the styling, but it was also a tad bit weird. I enjoyed the ultra modern bathroom, but I did not enjoy the lack of heavy door. Im used to the bathroom being private. I mean, there wasnt even a seal between the sliding door that separates the bartending from the rest of the room... We could hear people walking and talking in the hallway, also. I wonder if think doors without good deals is just how most Marriotts are. Fortunately, Im not a light sleeper. If rather have my privacy and quiet when I stay in a hotel, though. Overall, I had a good experience.

Ive been staying at the Richmond Marriott Short Pump long before its snazzy new facelift and upgraded amenities. Back when the hotel was dated and exceptionally out of style, the only element keeping me from defecting to one of the many Marriott and non-Marriott properties in the vicinity was the fantastic service. From Armando at the front desk to Stephanie in the concierge lounge, the staff truly works together to make every guest feel welcome and make this property a home away from home. Now that the property has been upgraded to Marriotts newest offering, I have no reason to ever look elsewhere!

There was a huge storm that knocked the power out on the first night of my stay. It didnt come back on until Saturday afternoon. The hotel didnt have enough flashloghts for guest so they provided glowsticks for guests to see. I dont know what fork of light that provides, but they should have bought flashlights until the power company fixed the outage. They supposedly credited each night of our stay $75 but when I left they couldnt provide a folio, so they took our email addresses to email them over. Still havent received it.

Newly renovated rooms are nice. However, I was disappointed in my room location, especially as a Platinum Elite member. The room was overlooking the rooftop with the kitchen exhaust pipes literally 3 feet in front of window so we couldnt even open the curtains. Also had to wait for room to be ready by sitting in the lobby for almost an hour even though check-in was at 3:00 and we arrived after 4:00. Not at all how I expect to be treated when I spend so much time (and money) in Marriotts.
