This place is a joke. Used to be a county park now its run by a bunch of teenage kids who argue with eachother over the rules of the park. The young lady at the front where we paid $60 to get in said we could bring a small cooler with water. We paid stoped through the gate where another young lady who worked here was standing. She heard the whole conversation then told us we could not bring the cooler with water. Mind you I still have not entered the park asked for my money back they said no refunds. I said I didnt even come inside the park. So I was out $60 so we went in my daughter who is under two has an aprroved flotation device I was told she could not use it and I must rent theirs. This used to be a nice place to come and is now unorganized and one person tells you one thing and someone else tells you something completely diffrent. There was another family who had the same problem she was lucky and before she paid I told her she couldnt have the cooler after the lady upfront said she could. I told her they said the same thing to me then after I paid they said I couldnt and wouldnt give me my money back. She was very thankful I caught this in time as they told her she could before she paid and was waiting for her to pay before they told her no because then she couldnt get her money back. They are thieves in my opinion.

My family and I were members of the Rappahannock Area for 7 consecutive years. After considerable price increases in the family membership cost, my family and I cancelled our membership to join another local gym. We eventually rejoined the YMCA several years later. We were very disappointed in the state and condition of the Massad and Smith Station branches. The warm-up mats had not been changed in 10+ years. Much of the exercise equipment and machines were the very same machines that we used when we initially joined the YMCA. My husband injured his finger on one of the weight machines due to a significant build up of rust on the weights which hindered the proper placement of weights. We were absolutely shocked that not much had changed. To be fair, a new section was eventually added to the Massad Branch but the old equipment remained. The womens jacuzzi was down for more than 2 months at one point. The steam room was often quite filthy. At this point, my family and I would not reconsider rejoining the Rappahannock Area YMCA again.

Conveniently located near Fredericksburg in Falmouth. Ample parking and plenty of ways to get your work out in. The basketball courts inside are almost always crowded, but just about everything else will be available with barely any waiting involved. The machines are a little old, but they work and get the job done well enough. The staff was always friendly. The bathrooms were never the cleanest, but they werent the worst. Their pool was a little smaller than i had hoped, and is sometimes difficult to get some laps in when every lane is taken. But the pool and its deck were always very clean. Overall, it was not worth the monthly bill, in my opinion, although i can see how it would be worthwhile for other people who are able to utilize more of their amenities.

I think the Y is really good. They have nice equipment but certainly not state of the art. The basketball courts are nice and so is the requetball. My biggest complaint is the outdated locker room facilities and the jailhouse showers they have. Maybe its me but I dont like taking a shower with a bunch of other sausages flopping around. Especially when I have my kids there. We have our kid in the after school program and for the cost and friendliness of the staff you cant find better. Weve never had one issue since he was in there a few years ago.

I concur with those who commented on rising prices. It is a bit discouraging to pay more and experience low maintenance upkeep, if any at all. Examples are the continuing leaking racquetball court roofs, dirty racquetball floors, periodic blown lights in the racquetball courts. Did I mention I play only racquetball there? I stay for the camaraderie, while others have left for other fitness centers. A reinvestment, reprioratization, smart cost-cutting, and reorganization is needed here.

Terrible! Extremely inefficient. Have been trying get a $20 fee reversed for over a month because our bank card was compromised from fraud and the paperwork magically disappears! All we get is a "sorry, but we need that paperwork". Never using the Y again.

The employees are really nice. My family and I just signed up and we love it. There is always something to do. It beats our old gym by far. Really wish they had punching bags and speed bags but if that is my only complaint, I think they are doing great.

They seem to have a hard time managing payments and try sending you bills from months ago that were already paid. Getting them to admit to the mistake is impossible even with proper documentation. Be careful, always keep receipts!

terrible facility and the lady jennifer at the front desk is so rude and very racist to many of the young players who have or do not have memberships. Trust me dont waste your time or money at this washed up facility.

YMCA is the best place to workout, good people around good member, each time when i am at the SPA or Steam room i pray those who build YMCA and who start YMCA to serve people. God Bless
