This hotel looks nothing like the pictures on their website. Upon entering the lobby there was an off putting smell which they tried to mask with an air freshener with little success. I reserved a room with two queen beds and a roll out through the actual hotel. When I arrived at check in they had no record of reserving a cot. They did move us to a "suite" with two queen beds and a pull out couch. Which is what I would have liked to have reserved originally but was told they didnt have rooms with pull out couches at their hotel. Hmmm? When we entered the side enterance and proceeded down the hall the foul smell intensified. When I approached our door to the room I noticed it looked like it did not completely shut. We opened the door and when we entered it looked like we just went through a time warp back to 1970. The room smelled, the carpet was out dated the bathroom was small and had mold on the caulk line, you could barley turn around in the bathroom. The light fixtures were sprayed with texturized spray paint. They had drop ceilings. There were two steps down into the room and at the bottom of the wrought iron railing the carpet was taped with duct tape. The carpet was wet and stained. We tried to turn on the a/c and they had a high and low option but when we tried to turn the fan on high because the room was stifling hot and heavy with stale air it didnt work! We also did not have any bedding for the pull out bed. We did however have an extra pillow with a yellow sweat stained pillow case. When I called down to the front desk they sent a maintance man who was very kind and friendly and checked our a/c and explained to us that they put a dual switch in for the a/c but there was only a single fan and offered us a box fan to try and cool off. We decided to take the kids to the pool and the railing into the pool was extremely loose and the water was hot. We didnt not get very much rest and we were extremely disappointed in our hotel. When I checked out I expressed our dissatisfaction with our experience with the hotel and they did adjust our rate. So I paid For the room in cash. There should have not been any charges to my card at all. I was just waiting for a hold of $40.00 for incidentals which there were none to be released. I would have been ok if it had ended there. But Shortly after we left I got an alert from my phone that my card had been charged $180.00!!!! Which was our original room rate plus the $40.00 hold!!! I hadnt gone far from the hotel so I turned around and went bk to see what the hell was going on. They said it was their mistake and would release the money but it would take 3-5 days. I was livid!!! I said absolutely not you will do exactly what needs to be done to release that money today!!! I called my bank and they said they would need the hotel to fax a consent to release which they did. But it doesnt end there. Today my bank called me again and said the hotel put through another $100.00 charge to my account!!!! When I called bk to see what was going on. They said they didnt adjust the account accordingly so when they closed it out it charged my card!!!! I am so angry right now!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! This place is a JOKE!!

So what happened is a long story, but it has to be described to explain why I am giving this hotel such a poor rating. One of the nights that we stayed there we had an intruder enter our room around 6:30 AM. We had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, she entered the room, saw we were sleeping, and left. We assumed it was just house keeping that didnt see the sign and did not worry about it. After that I ended up needing to go down to the front desk to grab something, and when coming back up to the room I saw a stranger coming out of our hotel room. I confronted the stranger, who was clearly not working or housekeeping, and she ran away from me. My boyfriend slept through this just thinking it was me coming back in the room, because I had just left it. After he realized it was not me, he got up and we both went down to complain and voice our concern. The guest service after what had happened is why I am rating the hotel so poorly. We told the front desk that a stranger entered our room twice and they said they would scan the lock to see what happened and change our key and to go up to the room and they would call us immediately when they knew more. Hours had passed and there was no call so we went back to the front desk. They had indeed scanned our room, and someone had used a master key to enter. This indicates it was an off shift employee entering our room for unknown reasons. We were not offered any sort of compensation for having a stranger enter our room twice with a master key. We were not offered a different room, a safe place to store our belongings (the room did not have a safe), or a refund for that one night, because due to their employee or insecure practices we had to wake up extremely early to a stressful situation on our vacation. The only thing that they offered was changing our lock. This person somehow got hands on a master key - what is stopping them from doing it again? ALSO they know what items were in our room at that point, so then we had to move everything to our car for fear that they would come back to steal the items when we werent there. Between them not reaching out to us immediately when they had more information on what happened as well as not offering to switch us rooms it made it seem like they really did not care about their guests or their experiences at all. We came to the Millennium Hotel Buffalo for vacation, and had to wake up extremely early to deal with a stranger entering our room, not once, but twice, and the employees there brushing it off because they changed our key and that seemed good enough. It was a pretty bad experience, and we will not be returning to this hotel.

Family of 4. We booked a one night stay at the last minute on a very busy holiday weekend for both sides of the border. Im not gonna lie...I was a little hesitant after reading some of the older (2013-2015) reviews but the hotel website claims that they have newly renovated rooms... Check-In: Our 4pm check-in was quick and easy. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. Everything was in order and the whole process was done within minutes. The Room: We were on the 4th floor, in the middle (417). It was a standard room with two Queen sized beds. The room was clean and had that "new" fresh smell. The bed sheets were crisp and everything was wiped down. We checked for bed bugs (as we always do) and there were none. The bathroom is small compared to newer facilities but it was clean and everything worked so I have no complaints. The walls are thin and the adjoining room door was not flush to the floor/door frame so we could hear the people next door talking all night. The Facilities: Dont forget to bring your trunks and use the pool...you wont regret it! The pool area makes you feel like youre on vacation and kids loved it. It was so good, we went after check-in and before check-out. They also have a gym that looks brand new. Lots of new equipment. They even have an old school arcade on the 2nd level looking over the pool area. Restaurants: We had a $25 food credit that we used for some smoothies and croissants at Waldens which is where they serve their breakfast buffet. The smoothies were real fruit and yum. The croissants were soft and warm. We didnt try the other restaurants on site. Check-Out: Quick but not as friendly. We asked the first agent about using our $25 room credit for breakfast. She just seemed annoyed. Another agent checked us out...she was in a better mood than the other. Overall, I am very happy to say that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back...
