Thank you Veritas for the outstanding rehearsal dinner on July 23, 2010. We enjoyed working with Chloe in planning the event. She was so easy to work with and so professional it made it all seamless and satisyfying. The cocktail hour was superb with delicious hors doeuvres served by your efficient staff. We had a choice of very nice wines with beer and cocktails also available. Everyone got to relax the in great room and enjoy the beautiful views of the vineyard. At our agreed time -- on the dot -- we all moved into the dining room where the tables were set and decorated perfectly for the event. Thank you Chloe for preparing a menu (last minute request!) that was displayed on each plate. The food and service was perfect and the wines were superb with each course. The "special" presentation of each course by the wait staff was very entertaining. Thanks for the help in setting up the sound system and screen (by AVI) which allowed us to enjoy nice dinner music, an enjoyable slide show of the bride and groom to be, and some wonderful and memorable toasts! We have received unanimous rave reviews of the evening by all who attended. As some said: "It was like being in a movie!" That says it all -- Great Job!!

Ridiculously busy on Saturdays. I would suggest going on Friday or Monday, Sunday if you have to. Even if you HAVE to go on a Saturday, a wine tasting at Veritas is WELL worth the wait. Eat before you go, because they dont allow outside food and what they do offer is very expensive - save your money for the wine. We left before we got to taste on a Saturday because of the crowd, and almost didnt come back Monday - I cant believe what a fantastic and delicious experience we would have missed out on! Not 110% pet-friendly inside (probably because of the gorgeous hardwood floor, expensive furniture, and large crowds), but they let my support dog in with me without any issues, so props on very respectful staff. Veritas has so many wines that the only general statements I can make are that all of their selections are well-crafted and they have something for everyone. Our sommelier was extremely knowledgeable about the property, the grapes, the process, and the wines - not only of Veritas, but of Virginias wine country in its entirety. If I had written down everything she said, I would probably be well on my way to a degree in viticulture. Dont leave without asking about whats written on your glass.

Dear Andrew, I spoke with you at the BABA wine tasting event on June 17 and won the “Starry Nights” gift certificate. I want to thank you for your generosity and let you know we had a wonderful time. My wife and I along with 3 other couples attended the July 10 Starry Nights presentation. What a spectacular night! The wines were superb; the food was excellent; the weather and venue were delightful; and the band brought back memories of earlier days. Our wine steward that night was Tabitha who was wonderful. She gave us a great rundown on all the wines and was most helpful. Our original table had picnic benches rather than chairs. There was an empty table near the back with chairs; so she moved us. It made the evening much more comfortable and enjoyable. I am sorry I didn’t know about the Starry Night performances before. We all enjoyed ourselves so much, we plan to make it an annual outing. Our daughter just had her wedding at the Veritas this past weekend. IT WAS AWESOME! We were treated like royalty! The staff did everything they could to make the wedding a perfect day! Everyone was so helpful and patient in answering any questions, especially from me, the nervous mother of the bride! The grounds and facilities are ABSOLUTELY beautiful! The food was great and the wine was wonderful! I am so glad our daughter chose the Veritas; I cant imagine any more beautiful perfect place for her to be married! Thanks to all at Veritas for helping our daughter to have the wedding of her dreams and a special day that she will always remember! We definitely give the Veritas 5 stars and only have good things to say about this magnificent venue! We highly reccommend this to everyone planning a special event. We cant wait to go back to visit..it is such a relaxing inviting place!

Thank you Veritas for making our wedding such a special day for our family. Everything was done beautifully. I cannot think of a single thing that could have been improved upon and even the weather cooperated! The event manager Chloe was spectacular, but I want to give a special thanks to the wait captain (I hope I have the correct title) but it was the man running everything. I think his name was Karl. He was wonderful, amazingly organized and proficient. A true gem. All the wait staff were very, very, helpful throughout the evening. Our guests commented on the excellent food which, having eaten at Veritas, was no surprise to us but was a very pleasant surprise to everyone else. The Veritas staff made yesterday evening run so smoothly and apparently effortlessly despite all the very hard work on everyones part. Fabulous venue, fabulous staff.

This is the sort of place that will bring you back to Charlottesville time and time again. First off, the wines are very very good. A couple miss the mark which is true for any vineyard. I respect their attempt at making a Virginia Sauvignon Blanc - a rarity in this region. It works just as well as any CA Sauvignon Blanc I have tasted. But by far, the Othello is the king in this family. Ignore the price and buy a bottle. Sip it by the fireplace and I guarantee you will regret not buying a second bottle. The staff was very friendly, the winery itself was a surprise - incredible mix of modern/tavern interior with a gorgeous mirror over the long bar. The downside is the pricing policy for tastings. But since they offer so many wines, skip buying a glass and do both tastings - worth it.

Great Location, Mediocre Wine Tasting. Wonderful location, great for picnics and views. The wine tasting was a huge disappointment though. Having "run out" of red wines, only one table red wine was on the tasting list, and out of the 6 or so whites, just one Chardonnay hit the spot. At one point, our server was was pouring plain water from a white wine bottle, proclaiming it to be some wonderfully produced Viognier...it wasnt! Having asked about the red wine situation, the real forté of Veritas we understood, they said that might be tasting a new red in the coming weeks. We understand small batch production, but felt the trip to Veritas really not worth it for half the repertoire at expensive tasting prices. Might be worth waiting until later in the year.

Simply delightful! On a recent weekend tour of VA wine country with friends, we truly ended on a high note with Veritas. Not only did they have our favorite wines of the weekend, but they had a lovely tasting experience with just the right number of varieties to try so you feel youre getting your moneys worth without being overwhelmed. Add to that a fun and knowledgeable staff, beautiful grounds and a tasty cheese tray and youve got yourself a lovely afternoon. If you are just going to one vineyard, make it Veritas. If youre visiting several, make sure this is on your list!
