We moved to Alabama and today we drove 50 miles to the Carmike Cinemas in Prattville, AL for the 1:15 show. This Cinema is the biggest disappointment I have ever had. We should have driven the extra 40 miles to Montgomery to a REAL Cinema. The pre-show was as if we had stepped back to the 60’s or 70’s. They must have had a trainee in the projection room. For one, they played the same commercial 4 times in a row. Then the show finally started, it was the WRONG movie. The guy in front had to go find someone to let them know. After 15 minutes, they started the show. The only problem, SOUND only, no movie. When I went to the only person to be found in the lobby, the girl at the concision said there was no Manager on duty; and yes they were working on the issue. At 2:00 pm the show started. Yes the show was great but the experience was far from enjoyable. If you are going to a Movie, stay away from the Carmike Cinemas in Prattville, Alabama.

This theater is definitely showing its age, however when we have gone, it has been fairly clean. The popcorn is not always fresh, but the ticket people and concession stand people are always friendly when we order. Of course, prices are ridiculous. They are not always good at "special requests." I had to sit thru 25 minutes of previews (also ridiculous) with the volume blaring so loud all I could do was see my companions mouth move and I was seated right next to her! At the beginning (before previews) it was all sound and you could not talk at all and my ears actually hurt due to the volume. The people said it would resolve with the show.It did, but I should not be subjected to torture first! They just did not want to make two trips to change the volume. Hopefully, this will not happen again. Might bring some ear plugs to be safe! I have been more recently with no problems, and it was super clean and kept after. I will add a star! And visit more.

Time for a remodel. Carmike, if youre reading these reviews, Ive seen the quality of the theater dwindle down to the point where movies are practically unwatchable, especially in 3D. The DLP projectors are in drastic need of replacement, theres mold all over the ceiling, chairs need reupholstering and dont recline, bathrooms are disgusting and are not easily accessible for those that are handicapped. That being said, the prices are fairly reasonable and they do offer specials on food and drinks at certain times. I remember the theater being a hundred times better back in the early 2000s, but it is past its time for a remodel at this point. It would be nice to see it completely redone with a (aptly named) Big D theater added so that customers in the tri-county area wouldnt have to drive to Chantilly to see a blockbuster movie.

Been here plenty of times and I love it. The seats have arms that go up so bigger people like me can sit comfortable. Or couples can cuddle. The customer service is nice and friendly. . On rare occasions their is a not so nice employee or one that isnt very helpful. But they never last long. The parking lot is big and the place is well lit. I dont like that its on such a high hill bc it makes parking and getting out of the car more difficult if your disabled. But they have parking to the left side of the building that is flatter, just a bit further to walk or push a wheelchair. They have wheelchair accessible seating with seats next to them for companions. It is by far a better thought out theater than Ive been to in a while. Ive been to a few nicer (but in much larger cities).

Cant beat the $5.75 deals they have and the different improvements theyve made like being able to put your own butter on your popcorn or the icee machine where you can make it yourself and now instead of waiting all the way outside on the steps for 20 minutes to get to the window inside, they have moved the ticket purchase on the inside at the concessions which is still kind of irritating because it forces you to wait on everyone to get their food when all u want to do is buy 1 ticket. They have forgotten the most important improvment of all, the screens are dark and old with lines going through them and seriously needs to be upgraded, and the 3d is just as bad because the glasses are dark and the screen is dark, no good combo.

we recently went to this theater which is going downhill fast to watch ANNABELLE CREATION. IT was a horrible experience. Some organization bused in about eighty young people to see DETROIT and they chose to come into the theater to watch ANNABELLE CREATION unfortunately instead. They were a mob of rude, obnoxious, cursing, screaming, throwing popcorn youths with no consideration for other people who paid to see the film in peace. One lady asked them to please be quiet, and three of the young men cursed and threatened her. There was no manager there, only two disinterested young employees who did nothing about our plight. This was not a safe situation, think twice before taking your children or going on a Sunday Afternoon.

My second trip here in as many weeks. This has to be the most horrible run theater Ive been to. The first time concessions closed early and then this time it hasnt been cleaned and their is popcorn and drinks all over the floors and cupholder. I could really go on and on. One of the managers had the workers in the lobby cutting up before we walked in come to find out he wasnt on duty there was another manager who had assumed that the employees did their job. She definitely cant be two places at once and so I do not fault her when it was another manager that was off duty that had them occupied. The DM Dominique will be getting a call from me tomorrow and yes I have pictures.

The Prattville theater is not what it used to be. The last few times I have been, there have been problems with the sound and picture. For example, the last two movies did not have any sound coming out of the front right speaker. Even though I told the management about the problem, it was never resolved. To add to the issue, the movie next door was so loud, I could hear it over my movie. Overall, they try to keep the theater clean, but a better job could be done. I think the owners are trying to squeeze as much out of the theater as possible before letting it go. What happened to taking pride in your product?

Teenage patrons jumping from show to show, and teenage workers asleep at the wheel! Poor customer service is about the worst you can do at a theater, unless you’re at Carmike Promenade 12 in Prattville. Today I went to Mega Mind with my kids and they started showing Jackass!! Theater full of kids and they started showing a Rated R movie!! 20 other parents and I had to run out yelling at the top of our lungs to get them to react. They did change films and refunded everyone their tickets so they did something right. Save your frustration and go anywhere else but here!
