Ive played here since the course opened and it has gone through some changes. Of course the saddest was losing the Par 5 15, one of the better holes on the course changing it to a dangerous par 3 and what I mean by dangerous is that the tee box is a typical landing area for those at #13 that pull their balls left. So look out. #1 is one of the coolest holes in Utah golf, thats for sure. Holes #13 and #14 provide good vistas from tee box and/or green but sometimes can be frustrating to play, especially #13, not that well designed. Hole #10 is a quality scenic Par 5 looking straight up American Fork canyon. Course, from the tips is challenging, from the whites it is very scoreable. Also look out on #4, the first Par 5 as you head back to the club house, sliced tee shots from #1 are a bit dangerous. The condition of the course has had its up and downs. Its not as good of shape as it was when it initially opened but better than maybe 2-3 years ago. Ive heard problems with people there. Of course, the course has changed hands and I have found the clubhouse people ranging from very friendly to standoffish, just depends on who is there. But overall some improvement could be made because one or two bad apples can leave a bad impression. Yes, they did have a marshall or two that was a complete jerk, comments above about the pop machines and water coolers being out of water/soda can be true and they havent been that great with a snack cart. But new club house and restaurant have enhanced the property. You pretty much are forced to buy a cart but the course isnt that walking friendly. The hill between 10 and 11 would kill a lot of people off and I wouldnt want to walk from #14 green to #15 tee either. So it isnt really a walkable course.

I was not satisfied with the treatment that the Cedar Hills Golf Course displayed with me and my fellow golfers when we played there. There are only 2 par threes that give you an accurate reading of the yardage. I had a marshall tell me "the way you guys are playing is bull-sh@@". We had been ahead of the group behind us the entire round until the 18th hole. We had 4 in our group and they had 2. If they had been closer we would of let them play through. I have grown up playing golf in the south and understand proper golf etiqute. I have played here 3 times and each time their mowers are in the fairways or on the greens with no respect to your play. They will leave their mowers on even while you are putting. If they want to act like this is a TOP utah golf course they have a long way to go before they start yelling at the people already willing to play their sub par golf course. Dont play here unless you have a free round because it is not worth the money. Better money would be spent playing Mountain View(which is saying something).

We have rented the Vista Room a number of times and have attended weddings, parties, meetings, and dinners at this venue. I can’t say enough about the picturesque location with its proximity to the scenic American Fork Canyon and Wasatch Mountains which can be viewed through the large windows on the east side of the building. The windows on the west side have exquisite views of the valley and lake. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The Vista Room has dark, rich, wood floors with a stone fire place. The visual and audio equipment worked seamlessly with our presentations. The size of the food preparation room was more than enough for our needs and has two separate entrances to the Vista Room. If preparing your own food isn’t what you are looking for, they offer a catering service through the restaurant / grill also located in the building.

The reason for the lower rating is the staff, they are not that friendly and their ability to answer the phone in the morning is horrible. I had a T time in the morning and was going to be a few minutes late so I wanted to see if that would be ok since I was driving two hours away to get there. When I arrived the manager denied the phone rang and argued with me about everything, very rude. They said they were there the whole time but obviously were not. The course is pretty nice and challenging which I like but the service and the inability to keep a good kitchen going has little to be proud of. The facility itself is pretty nice though, great for a wedding or get together of any kind and the view is spectacular.

This course, like many other Utah courses has an excellent view of the mountain side and has bend kept in pretty good shape. The greens, not so much anymore as the back nine has been partially parched due to heat, and it is a bit pricey in comparison to other courses. The driving range is best in the afternoon as the range is facing east. If you plan to not rent a cart, GO TO ANOTHER COURSE. This course is not walkable at all, especially the back nine. I am sorry to say I have tried walking it and even though the length is pretty standard for executive courses the course has way to much up and down to walk. Get a cart unless you plan to die. I go to this course very often and love it but be warned.

I have always loved the #1 tee here, but after playing 27 holes the other day the course has quickly become one of my favorites in the Salt Lake area. It has so much character, and the entire back 9 is unique to any other course in the area. They have done a lot to get the course in better shape than I have ever seen it. The greens roll very true, the fairways are in great shape, and the bunkers are soft and easy to hit out of. There is ice cold water in all of the coolers and the club house cafe has a great menu. To top it all off the $39 fee for 18 holes beats almost any course in the state! Great deal for an amazing course.

This place is a joke! We paid full price as the lady at the desk would not honor our PGA players book. She said that each person has to have one. The Marshall is an old fat man that follows you around complaining about your game. My group was all amateurs and 2 of us sliced our balls into the adjoining fairway. The Marshall saw this and told us to pick these balls up and throw them into our fairway. I could understand this if someone was waiting for us or if we were in anyones way but no one was there on that hole. He was a total a@@ hole! Avoid this course at all costs as there are more professional courses in Utah.

I am really impressed with everything about this course but this review is for one of the workers, I wish I had asked him for his name, but he went out of his way to help us out. So my buddies and I got there 10 minutes before they were supposed to open at 6:00 am so that we could tee off right when the Pro Shop person got there. It was 6:05 and the Pro Shop person wasnt there. One of the guys taking out golf carts saw that it was passed 6 and the Pro Shop guy wasnt there so he got on his phone, called him and told him that he was going to let us on and that we would square up with the Pro Shop after. Great attitude.
