I golf 3 times a week, a different group, and different courses each time. Birch Hills is lacking in everyway; service, they have a bunch of kids that do not know the meaning of the term ‘Gentleman’s Game’ and the tradition and service that comes with the game of golf. They should be selling hot dogs from a cart their service is so bad. There is no clubhouse at the moment (building one), so you check in at a trailer next to another trailer with bathrooms. The 4 times that I have been there, the driving range is always off mats… however, they have lights to practice a bit later. The course; the ground is so hard at the tee off boxes that you have to step on your tee to get it in to the ground. The greens are horrible, littered with everything from eucalyptus tree leaves, geese poop, and these little hard things that make your ball shoot in a different direction if you hit one. The top of the water ponds are covered in green algae, so if you do lose a ball in the water, you will not be able to even see it to recover it. A few of the fairways on the later par 4’s have mud-ridden cart tire tracks that are sunk in… don’t hit your ball there! Look, I know most golf courses have their downfalls and are not perfect, but Birch Hills Golf Course does not even fall under this category – It’s Horrible!

Beautiful Course!!Played today in under 3 hours walking the 18 holes.Laura in the Pro Shop was very pleasant, patient and courteous,as she was answering phones, booking Tee Times, and sending players out. This course will even get better as the new growth matures. They did a great job in getting the most out of the space that they have.We have been playing here since 1990.And this Layout is superior to the two previous incarnations!!So glad that they are open again.A great course for couples and i plan on sending my daughter and her boyfriend here for some lessons,so they can take the game up.

Just played there for the first time today - wont be the last. Nice friendly helpful staff both on the phone (yay!) and in person. I like the shortness of the course - matches my skill level. Only 5 par four holes out of 18 (the rest are par 3), so other golfers might not feel challenged enough but it was perfect for me. Some of the greens a bit rough, but there was work going on - and hey, Im not paying the same price as many other courses. I felt it was a GREAT value and was glad to find it. Ill be back!

A nice part 3 course (with 4 par 4s), driving range and good bar and restaurant. A little crowded on the weekends but a lot quieter during the week. The front 9 are not extremely long but the back 9 gets into the 170 and 180 range. The part 4s are roughly between the 250 to 300 yards so you have several chances to try and drive the greens. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A great place to work on your short game

This is an executive course in Brea that went thru a long downtime when the area was being redeveloped. It re-opened earlier this year (2016) after being completely updated. The course is in really good shape. They are still working on setting up the permanent clubhouse as it is in a trailer for now but they were anxious to get the course re-opened after such a long delay.

I mostly go for the driving range anymore but the course looks to be in good shape and the staff members are always upbeat, friendly and give outstanding service. Im always immediately noticed and acknowledge by someone as I walk by or enter the building. Great practice course for your short game and the driving range is always fun and in good shape

Incredible coaching staff at Birch. Jeanie and John Lepak are the biggest reasons I pick Birch Hills over other local courses for practice. Incredibly friendly and always willing to help out when they have the time.

Good coarse for a quick round or to work on your short game. The new club house is cool, the food is good. Great beer selection and all for reasonable prices. The range is well lit but it can use some targets.

The new course has many short holes around 100 yards with moderate to difficult greens. Great place to practice your short game at a reasonable price. Carts are newer and staff is nice and helpful.

I play here often, great course to squeeze in a busy day. The employees are top knotch and prices are fair. Now that they did green repairs its an even better experience.

Pretty pricey for a party 3. It was $81 dollars on an afternoon weekday for two people to golf and rent one cart. Ouch. Course is fairly nice shape overall though.

Jason was most generous in donating a foursome to our K of C golf tournament. A great place to play if you only have a small window of time.

Very well kept greens, nice staff, awesome range. Unfortunately its a very short course. I think at least 12 holes are less than a 100 yards

Great service tonight via our server, Jeremy! Beers, tacos and chili cheese dogs were tasty! Fun times with our friends.

Decent course although it is surrounded by high trafficked areas which makes this particular course very noisey.

Will give more stars when they start honoring junior rates all day on weekends. Ridiculous.

Some tee boxes are hard to tee up (the soil). The location lacks a clubhouse.
