Drove 7 hours to visit the shop. I had to ask for prices on just about everything and the prices were a bit high and the selection was pretty low. There were plenty of fish that were either badly damaged, or deformed and most tanks were full of just Cyanobacteria. The guy also seemed like he wasnt interested in business, so much so that I felt rushed. It also seems like he was more interested in his show tank than in his sale tanks considering they were full of algae. The actinics over the coral tanks were so strong, you couldnt see any colors whatsoever. I feel like this was to mask the amount of algae and to make sales to people who dont know how to see the true colors of corals. He acted a bit aggravated when I asked him to turn the whites on so i could see the true colors of the corals. His wife, however was very welcoming and friendly. She was quick to make conversation and answer any questions we had. Over all, I probably wouldnt come back for the simple fact that for the price they wanted for the livestock, I would have expected better quality. Maybe his prices are more fare for regulars.

Recently bought 2 versatop tank covers and once I got home (which is an hour drive) I discover 1 of the 2 has cracked glass. I called and asked if they had anymore in stock which they didnt because I bought the last 2 in stock. I asked when they would be expecting more so I could exchange it and pretty much was told its just a waiting game could be in next order or maybe even a few orders away. Considering I bought the product because I need it now I asked about returning the broken product for a refund so I could order it myself so I would know exactly when I would have it instead of sitting around for weeks hoping they would get more in stock, but I was told the boss wasnt there and he would have to be the one to handle refunds and returns. I left my Name and # and still have not received a call back. I already bought a replacement and accepted the loss, however I will NOT be returning for anymore SALTY business. †† I uploaded a picture of my reciept I bought 2 versa tops for $23.99 each on JULY 02, 2016... 11 days AS OF TODAY. So I am very well within the time period. Like I said SALTY BUSINESS!

Terry and Evelyn are the most amazing and caring people you will ever meet. They are super knowledgeable and so helpful, even for the beginners who seem to always have the most "stupid/silliest" of questions to ask. Some stores see your financial status as soon as you walk in the door and judge you from the start and seem to not be as helpful as they are to those who have their pockets full. Not these guys. They treat everyone equal without judgement!! Super clean store, always have the necessities in stock, and it they dont, just ask, theyll get it. Great prices and best in customer service!! We love Salty Fish!

I love shopping at this store, the staff (Terry & Evelyn) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They have great knowledge about the hobby, and are quick to order anything you may want or need. They also have a great selection of fish (marine & freshwater) and corals, and did I mention they occasionally get in Sea World coral as well? You will not be disappointed with this store!

I have been to most stores around SA and I think I found my new place! Was just there on Thursday to grab some RO water. Ended up walking out with two fish and two zoo colonies, all of which are healthy and happy! Place is coming together great, super friendly and welcoming and helped provide me with right information to make my selection. Selection and prices are great!

My daughter was looking into getting a new fish for our salt water tank I had no idea what to get I met with terry and Evelyn who were so nice they were patient with my picky daughter and really helped us find the right fish answered all my questions and offered to service our fish tank if we ever had any problems with it we will definitely be coming back

I absolutely love this store. I stumbled in during my lunch break earlier in the week to pick up some RODI water and browse around quickly. I came back today to get some advice on a product to help cycle my tank without using fish, walked out with just what I was looking for. I will definitely be back to get livestock and coral for my new nano setup.

I had been into this store when they first opened with little inventory but I went there today and was so thrilled to see the wide variety of fish, some that i havent seen in other local fish stores! Their prices are very reasonable and they are so friendly and knowledgeable. I wish them luck with their business and will promote it to others!

Its always refreshing walking into a newly opened aquatics store in town. The place is coming together nicely. The store is very clean with spacious isles with no clutter. Terry keeps the place in order. The livestock is very healthy and appears disease free consistently. I cant wait until they get their first coral order in.

I had the most awesome experience today I walked in not knowing what do grab Evelyn was so helpful even offered to install the fish tank which is a plus because I would have messed it up terry knew the look I was going for Im new to having fish tank and they both nailed it I will be seeing you soon my new favorite store

We loved this store! We are in the research and learn stages of the Salt Life and we have found our spot! We have always had aquariums and are now ready to dabble in the salty life. This shop was impressive. Clean tanks, friendly staff, and great variety!

This is the closest salt water fish store to me, and Id rather drive across town than to come back here and encounter this rude woman. Female worker is rude every time we come in and very short answered- she has very little customer service.

Alot of people claimed it was a good store, the people were nice but the selection was limited. With that said, in a few months once they are done with the build out next door they should be a great LFS.

I like this store, Terry is a great dude. Its a family business that is doing some great expanding. I think it will be neat to see some amazing show tanks in there grow out over the next few years.

What a lovely jewel in NE San Antonio. They have an excellent selection of freshwater fish and plants, plus a growing selectionnof saltwater fish. Its definitly my go to store now :).
