I have never taken the time to write a Google review -- but I have been so disappointed in Aquatic Designs -- Im taking the time. I have shopped here for about a year. Spent about $1000 with them. A few weeks ago my aquarium had a leak -- so I went here to purchase my new aquarium. Had several problems with the owners son -- who I think runs the place. First -- he misrepresented the size of the aquarium. Told me the one I wanted was 90 gallons. When I told him it didnt look like it -- he told me he had 16 years experience and he would measure it to prove it. Turns out it was marked as 90 gallons - but was just over 70 gallons. I bought it anyway. It took him 2 tries to get the backing on it -- and after it was delivered I just pulled it off the back it was so full of air bubbles. 2 months later the new aquarium has a long crack along the back. Water everywhere in my kitchen! Owners son came to our house, diagnosed a "pressure crack". He never called us back to tell us what he was going to do. So I went over there today and he informed me he wasnt going to do anything about it. He said that aquarium stores run on only 3% profit -- he told me his is a tough business. Will sell me another aquarium at a discount -- but thats all hell do. I own a small business myself - so I know the problems owners face. But I expect a retail business to stand behind the product they sold and delivered to my house. My suggestion to you is NOT to expect Aquatic Designs to be there after the sale. I have also shopped at Texas Tropical Marine and Fintique for a long time. They have never, ever refused me help or service if I have a problem. Im sorry this business runs on low profit margins -- but a reputable company shouldnt desert their customers. Anyone can be nice when they are making a sale. The true measure of a good business is how they take care of their customers after the sale.

Although the location is very easily looked over, sort of hole-in-the-wall, and the inside of the store may seem a bit cramped, it was great. Not only is the selection of animals and aquarium accessories, etc., vast and well-kept, but the store manager (I believe that thats who it was) and almost all of the employees are extremely knowledgeable in their work and are willing to help you out in picking just the right things for your aquarium and help educate you on your fish and other aquatic animals. They were so helpful in helping me to learn more about the fish and snails that I already own. I am so grateful for how well they pamper and keep up with all of their aquatic, and non-aquatic (the manager had an adorable, old, long-haired chihuahua who thought that she was being very helpful by following around the employees who lifted heavy things. Lol She was rather friendly), creatures! Im giving them four stars due to the one female employee who was very, extremely, rude to not only me, but a few other customers, and made us feel stupid when speaking with her. She belittled us, as if the questions or concerns that we had about the aquarium animals and devices were common knowledge. Everyone else was extremely helpful and friendly, though, so dont worry! Maybe she was just having a very bad day.

Wow the owner was rude . He thought I was trying to steal stuff I buy from him every mth $500 a month. Bad never going there again. I was looking for a skimmer . One of my friends went in there earlier and they quoted a price for $30 and jump 2 $50. I have bought a lot of stuff from this company from now on Im going to somebody else. The person was following me looking at me see if I had anything in my pockets like if I could steal a 100 gallon tank in my back pocket the person told me if you wanted to buy something let them know anyone handle it. Instead of me touching it Im 55 years old been saltwatering . 35 plus years. think this is rude disrespectful any could be lead on to racism. Go somewhere else. ...

Expensive supplies. Good selection of salt water fish. Not very good on freshwater fish. Bought fish based on what saleswoman answered about potential size and character of fish and turned it to be totally wrong info. Got two fish that were totally incompatible with tank we intended them for. Now have to keep them in separate tank which they will definitely outgrow and we will have nowhere to keep. If we had right info we would have bought our second choice which wouldve worked perfectly. They wouldnt have lost sale and wouldve had much happier customers. We no longer look there for fish.

Been shopping in aquarium stores locally since 2005. Have to say this is my favorite "go-to" place. Tons of stuff packed into this shop, yet its very clean and organized! The staff is always helpful, even when theyre seemingly busy. They have a great selection of equipment with competative pricing. All ranges of items for the beginner to the advanced hobbyist. Nice display of livestock that will work with all budgets. Family owned and operated with years of experience to offer. If you are thinking about getting an aquarium, stop by and visit this shop!

I just got started in this hobby, found about 5 stores that I checked individually in person and Aquarium designs is by far the most desirable store. Every time I go, im greeted immediately upon walking in and the staff is very knowledgable. Even if they didnt know the answer to the crazy questions I brought them, they knew who would and got me my answers. Even when we showed up after closing they took the time to allow us to look around, turned the tank lights back on so we could make our purchase. They have awesome corals, including great frag deals.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! My husband and I went in on Sunday afternoon with our toddler. We asked a female employee for help and she was nothing but rude. I was trying to maneuver my toddler out of the way so that she could show us the fish we asked to see and she told us to "move out of the way." Then, they didnt have the fish we wanted so she said "so you dont want this one?" My husband replied no and she stormed off without another word. We will no longer be "bothering" this place by trying to shop here.

So confused about reviews that say that they are rude. Best customer service. Always so helpful, they love to share their knowledge.One girl even gave me a demo on how to clean my sand. The clerks are tripping over themselves to be helpful. And the owner and his son are amazingly nice. Maybe the people writing the bad reviews are just jerks that come in with a bad attitude and naturally turn people off.

Wife decided to give me a fish tank for my bday and Jason and his staff have been more than helpful in getting it set up and going through the process with me. From not knowing anything to learning every day something new. The process can be expensive but the results are definitely worth the moneys. Thanks to you guys and look forward to keep working with you all at Aquarium Designs!!!
