I played this course for $39 which was the after 4:00 pm rate. Access to the practice range was included in this price. At this price it is definitely a 5-star playing experience. This course has personality and allows a new visitor to the San Antonio area to experience the Hill Country first hand. Playing the course requires a fairly long golf cart journey that winds its way through many of the Wilderness Oak housing areas as well as many trees, washes, gullies, and rocky outcrops. Its not uncommon to also see a number of deer in the area. The course is challenging and you need to review the golf tips supplied by the GPS to know where hit your tee-shots, as many of the tee shot views dont give you an idea of where you have room for error. Two holes have distinct personality- one has two different fairways you can hit your ball to while finishing up at the same green. The finishing hole has a water fall that cascades down an adjacent rock cliff. The only possible negative aspect of the course is that you can be overwhelmed by the number of houses that surround the course, as every possible square foot of land seems to be in some stage of development. Fortunately there is enough natural beauty to offset this. Lastly, the club house and associated buildings have a ranch style feel, which adds to its personality. Beyond the golf experience itself, you will also cant help but miss the mega-mansions that lord over the parking lot from the adjacent hills.

Course is in excellent condition, the staff is friendly. I decided to quit after 15 today though because this course has a bad habit of indulging, if not outright encouraging, slow play. On the tee on 17, I saw a threesome in the fairway, and a large gaggle on the green, this after I had been waiting on every shot on 15. I decided to pack it in and was shocked to find the tee on 17 with six players waiting for a threesome on the green while 18 was wide open. It clearly would have taken an hour+ to finish those last three holes. Again nice course, but it is not worth the price when it plays so slowly. One factor in the slow play is their propensity to water the natural areas to encourage severe overgrowth. The natural areas are in play on most holes and today the weed height (during a long dry weather period) was close to 4 feet. So be warned, scenic course, nice layout, good condition, but your round is likely to extend past 5 hours and cost you at least a sleeve of balls you lose in the natural areas that collect slight mishits.

I am a member here, and I was recently using the parking lot to take a couple of quick photographs of my car. I picked this location for the pictures because of the lovely scenery. I was there for about 10 minutes when a couple of cart jockeys approached me and asked what I was doing. When I told them, they fumbled for a reason to tell me to leave. The best excuse they could come up with was that they were closing in about 45 minutes and they didnt want to lock me in. There were literally 50+ cars in the parking lot with me. I revealed that I was a member, and they threatened to send their supervisors out to the lot to ask me to leave. I assured them that I was acquainted with all of their supervisors, and they gave up and drove away. As they were leaving, I heard them both use expletives, and overall they were very disrespectful. As a member, I do not appreciate this sort of treatment. In fact, I called later that evening and discontinued my $2400 a year membership.

We booked Canyon Springs Golf Club for our October 2016 wedding and could not be happier with our decision. We worked with Ashlee and Guillermo, who was our day of coordinator. We visited several venues before coming here, and this was the perfect place for us. I had a lot of questions in the beginning about different packages and pricing, and Ashlee was so responsive and answered all of my questions. Ashlee and Guillermo made sure our day went as smooth as possible with all of their coordination with us, and our special day turned out perfect thanks to them and the staff at Canyon Springs. Our guests loved the waterfall, the food and drinks were great and reasonably priced, and the space is perfect for medium-large weddings. Id highly recommend brides to be to book their wedding here. They do everything in house (catering, bar tending, chairs, ceremony, reception) and it makes it so stress free not having to coordinate with multiple vendors.

Terrible staffing and attention to clientele. We were stuck with a cart out of charge on hole Number 11 at 630 on a Sunday and could not reach anyone at the clubhouse. Despite leaving multiple messages with the GM, the manager of Operations and a third person we had to rely on the other two people in our group to push our cart. Finally the Cart girls called someone when we met up with them an hour and a half after our cart broke down. No one ever called us to check up or see what they could do to rectify the situation despite us having to play best ball for 8 hole for obvious reasons. Go to any other course in San Antonio.

I had my wedding here 1/14/17 and it was a wonderful experience. The food was great and Guillermo and the rest of the staff worked very hard to make sure our day was relaxing as possible. The waterfall site for the ceremony blew my relatives away. Would highly recommend for wedding services

Immaculate, very playable but challenging, greens could be quicker but considering challenges off the tee you get a break! Would play over and over again. Pricing is great, where I am from(NC) you pay $60-80 for these conditions

The scenery is beautiful, the customer service was nice and I liked the layout of the course. But expected more of a country club feel for the price payed. It is in good shape and was challenging.

I disagree with the one star review the cart staff is always top notch and sounds kind of shady that you would not let it be known of your presence BTW 2400 is cheap for your parents to pay.

I had a great experience but I only give it 4 stars because of the driving you are hitting off mats little cheesy for me considering the money you pay to play
