Alright full disclosure: I was employed here in 2015-2016. Im a little biased and also a little frustrated with rates and staffing. The policies and procedures seem like they change on a weekly basis and there is not a lot of "team" building. Rates could be a bit more fair to residents of San Antonio. $75 on a weekend for a municipal (tax payer owned) golf course is a little steep. Their pricing and specials are like reading hieroglyphics. Their "programs" are confusing to say the least while again changing every year to something different or more revenue generating. The course is ALWAYS IN GREAT SHAPE! The place is beautiful and historic. It certainly is a good walk spoiled by the game itself. Only 3 stars... for now. To get 5 stars from me you either have to give me free bacon or serve mouthwatering food. Im a golf professional and I have high standards.

If you are coming from a country club or private course, you may need to adjust your expectations. For a muni, its in great shape and is a fun, challenging course. Its a par 71 and somewhat short, but still has its own challenges. We played Sunday afternoon in under 4 hours. We only waited at the very end, which wasnt bad. I was thinking that Id only play it once since its historic, but I think Ill be back. I was pleasantly surprised.

The course is good, its just that it is overrated; this is one of my lesser favorites of the Golf Trail. Please golf here, just dont bring your great expectations with you. Its a smaller course caved in by city and parks. For being an historic land mark, I really wish they could get more donations to irrigate their poor dying grass; the adjacent park is green, but the course is brown????

Very difficult course, dont forget your sand wedge, tight treelined fairways with sand bunkers all over the place, several holes have a "bunker hazard" instead of a water hazard. While this may afford you a chance to save the ball, sometimes it is better to have to drop, instead of the 3 strokes getting out of a STEEP bunker

Amazing course very manicured fast greens, only downfall is the design seems as if they ran out of room on back nine, but outside of that very nice, tough, short course, if u dont hit straight it will become difficult but if u do the the course is a breeze for you!!

This is one of the best kept secrets in Texas !! Ten min to the airport and ten minutes to downtown, and 45 minutes to the Hill Country. Square Greens are on 5 greens and bunkers on every holes... Elevated greens on several holes.. Very walkable.....

Enjoyable course that has a good mix of challenges, but youll find better value elsewhere in San Antonio. Bummer that it doesnt have a practice range. Its in good condition with greens that were recently aerated but still rolled fine.

Great course in down town San Antonio. Always well maintained and a challenge for every golfer. The course is short but full of bunkers that make club selection a big part of your day. Highly recommend!
