We recently visited my daughter, who lives in Houston. One of our favorite things to do is to visit Wineries together. I found La Fuente Winery online. I called to book our visit, and did so with ease. I knew from their online site, and from the reviews that it wasnt the typical winery with beautiful grounds and grapevines growing on site. It was basically a distribution warehouse, but please dont let that allow you to dismiss it. They featured good Chilean Wines, and the experience they provided, while we were there, was not only interesting, but it was fun. They have created a nice enough ambience in a tasting room, which is a portion of the warehouse. The Wine Enthusiast, Cindy, was top notch! She made the visit worthwhile. Knowledgeable and entertaining, Cindy saw to it that we enjoyed the visit. Each wine was paired with a specific food sample. The pours were generous. My favorite was the Sparkling Wine. The two hour tasting experience was a hit with our intimate group of four. I would recommend you put La Fuente on your checklist of "wineries" - tasting experiences to attend. The only suggestion I have for La Fuente, is to have a sign near the road to help one find the correct building, as the winery can seem to get lost in the myriad of buildings that look so much alike. Thank you, Cindy, and helper, for a great time.

Bought a Groupon. Read other reviews that said it was a great place. Are you kidding me? The insulation was exposed. The "romantic couch" was a futon. The wine was what you would expect for $10 wine. The "appetizers" were saltines and some fruit. The strip mall is really an industrial center. The only thing that wasnt sketchy was the two ladies running the tasting. They were extremely nice. Maybe thats why the reviews are extraordinarily high?

My experience at La fuente Winery was a pleasant one. I must say that they are hidden in location but easy to get to. The customer service was great. I do wish they had Ports /dessert wine options. If you are in the mix for a small wine tasting or even a romantic outing call them and check them out.

This is a very different wine tasting atmosphere, dont expect 5 star joint, but the actually wine / host / and tasting, 5 stars! I would recommend to anyone looking for a near by Houston wine tasting, they pour very generous and are very knowledgeable.

Please be aware that the wine tasting lasts two hours. We didnt attend as we dont have two hours to spend on a wine tasting.
