Went here for "happy hour" with 2 other coworkers. We sat at the end of the bar for at least 10 minutes before getting any service. When we did.... They informed us that the tap was not working (which was odd because we had just watched them serve up 2 pitchers of beer from the tap). Ordered a couple of bottles of beer since there was no tap....waited again another 10 minutes or so, to order another round.... decided it wasnt worth the wait so when the bartender finally came we asked to close our tabs. Thats when we see that the bottle beers were $5 each. Seriously? For a Shiner? Because your tap is "broken"?? We could understand a lot of things since we are in the service industry.... but when the bar is empty and you cant get any service, and they dont make any attempt to keep you there.... Its not a good experience. We went to Twin Peaks and got a 22oz beer on tap...that was ice cold.... for only $3.50. Lesson learned...we will never go back to the Barley House.

Awesome SMU hangout. Music and atmosphere was really phenomenal. Drinks were strong and well-blended promptly by bar staff. Waitresses were attentive and friendly. Music is usually good. Prices were typical of Uptown and Park Cities hot spots. Clientele is mainly SMU students, some staff and associated alum. Young professionals, models, entrepreneurs, realtors, artists and a few hipsters thrown in the mix for good measure. Almost everyone is gorgeous, stylish and well to do. Patio is perfect for people watching and is packed during weekends, especially when the weathers nice. Always a good time here.

Great place to meet up with friends and grab a beer! Friendly staff and decent menu options. We watched the World Cup Final here with a couple of friends and the bar had a great sports atmosphere. After my credit card was overcharged on accident (it happens, sometimes..) the management happily and quickly refunded the difference. Will definitely keep this on my list of local spots to visit.

Barley House has a great patio with fire pits. Been there a few times and it seems very popular with the SMU college crowd. I havent had a chance to try their food, but they make good drinks. Id recommend to a friend for sure. Location is great, in fact, if they arent that busy, there are a few other spots on the strip that you could bounce around too. No complaints.

Great place to go if you are looking for real down to earth friendly people . They treat you like family . The place needs a little up keep but hell your there to have a good time not admire the decor right ....I give it a 2 thumbs up . Keep up the great work guys . Love love love you guys . Pinball machine makes this a good hangout. Lots of nice screens and a good outside sitting area with chill fires. Side of building has a strange smell last time I was there, didnt impact patrons, but if management reads this, fix it.

As soon as I walked in the "bouncer" asked for my id and said "hey did you know yesterday was Mexican independence day." Rude af. I wonder how many other people he asked if they knew about Mexicos Independence Day.

What I love about this place is the service that the people that work here provide to their customers. With their amazing collection of good beer and that kind of service, this place is one of the best in town.

Seriously bad service. Server gave our table the wrong order, we sent it back and asked for a refund, she told us "we have to charge you for it, its already in the system". Avoid here.

Bar was severely understaffed - 45 minutes passed with no service so we had to go to the bar to order. To make matters worse, card was charged double what the bill was.

Horrible vide, under bad bad ow nership. Could use better direction and personnel to help rhe sothern methodist students better. Absolutely would not recommend
