The Gathering isnt a sit, stand, read, sit, stand, sit, stand zombie-minded church that Ive been so sick of and done my best to avoid most of my life. I can sit and listen in a chilled enviroment of which I dont have people giving me "the evil eye" because I dont dress up because I know God loves me for who I am and He cares more about how my heart comes into His presence than how pressed my suit is, and Life in Deep Ellum is a place that encourages that, a relationship with God. The teachings are never bland or just the typical, the teacher always searches for a new topic or aspect that God may place on their heart, I really appreciate the desire for God and to share His Word that they, and the people here have. Genuine and safe place, no "masks" needed, and a fine example of real community.

I live out of town, but Ive visited the Sunday morning gathering a few times. As someone who is in a stage of spiritual exploration, I found that this to be a safe and welcoming atmosphere. It a small and simple atmosphere, but still easy enough to slip in and out with a few smiles and nods if you want to stay anonymous. I like the influence of the arts and especially the emphasis on reaching out to the community and others around us.

I discovered this little treasure by attending a concert in the large Venue. I was compelled to discover what the Mokah Coffee Bar and Mokah Gallery is all about. Life in Deep Ellum is a cultural community center that is dedicated to highlighting the all the different artist in Deep Ellum and bringing the community together. How can you describe a place that is not a big corporation but in business just to bring people together.

Life in Deep Ellum is truly a place where you can be genuine and have your views respected by all! The first time I went I said to myself, where has this place been my whole life! the energy and spiritual feeling is so amazing because it is REAL! Real people with real issues! If you arent sure what to believe or know exactly what you are looking for, come see what you have been missing! A connection like no other!...

One of the reasons I love Life in Deep Ellum so much is that when I bring a friend, they always feel so welcome and enjoy their experience. I spent several years volunteering with Deep Ellum Kids and saw firsthand how the children could learn about God in a creative, interactive environment. I highly recommend it!

I like what I see and hear at Life in Deep Ellum. The people and pastors approach spirituality in a way that emphasizes practicality rather than appearance. Its comfortable, but not boring. The Gathering is worth my time because it makes me consider new ideas and new ways of thinking about old ideas.

We really loved the artistic feel and expression of the church. The pastor was very personable and his teaching style was easy to learn from. We loved the snacks and laid back atmosphere that gave it a real sense of community.
