This review is extremely late but definitely needed. My husband and I chose to get married at Black Horse (last year in November) and it was the best decision of the entire wedding process. Not only was it extremely affordable (like very) but the customer service was amazing. We worked with Erin who helped us plan for the wedding (forgot to mention we planned the entire wedding in less than 3 months) and who was completely patient with us the whole time. Two things really stood out to me that made Black Horse shine. 1) Apparently we ran out of food for our guests BUT when Erin approached my husband and I about that she was only doing so to inform us and to say that she had already taken care of it and that everyone would still be fed within the next 10 minutes. After the wedding I asked random guests if they noticed the shortage of food and everyone was shocked because no one noticed that we had NO steaks left. Erin and Black Horse handled the situation PERFECTLY. 2) I didnt have my phone on me the entire reception so I of course lost track of time. Not once did any staff or Erin approach me about how WAY past our reserved time we were OR make me or my guests feel like we were being rushed out. In fact I stayed behind to say goodbye to all my guests as they left on their own terms and meanwhile all the staff discreetly cleaned up behind everyone ALL while still ALL asking me how my night was and if they could get me anything. All the while I didnt even realize I was hours past the time the reception should have been completed. I cant say that is what they will always do for everyone (you have to make money) but Im completely impressed and appreciative of how they responded to that situation. Every single person who worked the wedding & reception that evening made me feel completely special and like they were there to make everything perfect for me. Overall, an amazing night with amazing service. Oh and my pictures were perfect because of the view!

Over the last 10 years I have played at least 90% of my rounds here as I live nearby and my dad is a member. From outside guest service to pro shop to starters to the girls in the grill, the staff is friendly with great personality. The North Course is straightforward and the South Course has a little bit more character and decisions to be made. But both courses are always in great shape and the greens are always fantastic. We can usually get around either course in less than 4 hours! One of the best public courses (#1 in my opinion) in the Houston area.

Two great golf courses at BlackHorse: The north & The south. The south is more challenging but the last 5 holes are unique for Houston golf courses - with forced carries and beautiful scenery as you play over and around the Sand Quarry. Just beautiful. Always have knowledgeable golf pros working in the clubhouse; that can give you tips and warn you where not to hit it if it is the first time you are playing there, Jake Saladin is the man for taking lessons at Blackhorse.

This golf course has two different options North Course South course. Both have their equal challenging holes. I played the South course today greens are in excellent shape after being punched just a couple weeks ago. Staff is friendly they have good food at the 19th hole. The North Course was having greens punched on June 21st 2017 in case you were thinking about playing that course soon.

It rained when we went but it was still a nice course. There are two courses to play on. A north and a south course. We played 9 holes on the south course before getting a rain check on the remaining 9 due to weather. The only downside is that this place is pretty pricey. Some of the courses are just as good and not so expensive. Awesome club house and the customer service is on point.

Played the Black Horse course on May 14, 2017. The layout is great, but the course is in terrible condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were just aerated. The was very little grass on the tee boxes and fairways. Felt like hitting off hard pan all day. They did give us a voucher for a free round when we checked in.

Played the south course today. Greens are in great shape. Lots of rain over the last couple days made for some holes being dumped with some junk but still a great track. My buddies and I prefer the north course but both are great. Great customer service and yummy food at the 19th hole

This is a beautiful course that provides and provokes the challenge to anyone who steps up to take on the course. The staff is very helpful and polite and the pro on the course is always on hand to give you helpful insight to any question about your game or the course.

Course in good shape in general but tee boxes rough and sand traps have too much sand and huge lips in fairway. Greens in good shape and roll well. Staff in pro shop and on course were cordial and very welcoming.

Played the North Course and found it in good condition. The greens are in great shape and rolled true. Had lunch at the bar and the fresh made tuna sandwich was very good and reasonably priced.

Played the South course for the first time. Very scenic layout.. Deep bunkers, long par 3s.. Tree line fairways. Lots of fun.. Its a must play if you come down to Houston

I played in the south course with my collegue on Saturday morning. Not so crowded. Course is well maintained, but some greens are not so. (Maybe it is in summertime.)

The restaurant there is great. Most people dont know its open to the public. Very quiet and excellent food and moderately priced

South course is so scenic! Wow. Twilight price is the best way to go when the time springs forward.
