really nice public course. usually in great shape. forgiving course. no twilight fees which is a bummer. one other little complaint is it seems every year they allow more and more fivesomes and sixomes, is that a word? this really slows play. if they re going to allow these kinds of groups they should at least inform them that they need to let people play through. i know its an extra green free or two for the course when they do this, but this will end up driving away more golfers than it makes in extra revenue. so it will be a long term loss for the course.

Just played here for the first time in 8 years.... What can I say? It was hands down the best golf experience I have had in the KC Metro area. The clubhouse staff was very warm and friendly! I was treated like a long lost friend by the staff. And the course... wow.. fantastic shape! I couldnt believe it actually. The fairways were perfect... greens were perfect... rough was in great shape...The City of Lawrence has a gem on its hands! I will be back!

Eagle Bend discourages new golfers. The course marshals harass you and the club-house attendants are rude and condescending if you are new to golfing. It is a contributing factor why this tax funded, public course has been a financial loss to the city for years. If you are new to golf then play on a course in a surrounding town outside of Lawrence where new golfers are appreciated as customers.

I only got to play the back 9, but it was one of the nicest courses i"ve played. They paired me with 2 guys who work there, Bob and Jimmy, and they were great to golf with. The ONLY complaint was that there were 0 porta-pottys to be found in case nature called. Will play again when not in a rush.

Since moving to Kansas Ive found to many courses that allow 5 to play together. On top of that, singles sprinkled around the course that could have been pared to help pace of play. This has kept me from playing several courses. Ive played all over and havent seen this.

Well maintained... though a bit easy for a low handicapper. My handicap is a 3 and found it a bit to easy. You could play from pretty much anywhere on the course. Hit a block shot and that was ok just go hit it back to the right fairway.

Nice public course with a great practice facility. The course isnt the toughest but you can definitely find a decent amount of trouble if youre offline at all. Greens are quite fast.

Very pretty course with a very friendly staff. Pretty well priced. I suggest playing this course closer to fall. The trees are beautiful
