To preface, my experience at the Goodnight was for brunch. Having not utilized the bowling alley, pool tables, or karaoke facilities, this review is solely about the food we ate. I have to admit, I was really disappointed with the brunch offerings. The mimosas were watered down and our waitress kept trying to push the double which is delivered in a quart-size mug (not sure if it was exactly a quart, but it was ridiculously huge and pricey for one person–the table next to us ordered them). After much debate, I decided to split the Amaretto French Toast and the Biscuit & Gravy Benedict with a friend so we could try a bit of each. First, the French Toast was served with no amaretto to be seen (the waitress said it was baked in?). The toast was completely saturated with Nutella, making it hard to taste the bread. No syrup was offered and we had to ask, only to be told that it was an additional 50 cents. Seriously? It is french toast! In my opinion, syrup is a given! The biscuits and gravy were also oversaturated with an odd and very potent sauce (definitely not your traditional gravy) and the whole dish got old after two bites. The sausages tasted like they were heated in a microwave and the biscuits had no flavor (do yourself a favor and go to Biscuits and Groovy if you want to blow well earned calories). Our waitress recommended both of these dishes and they were a total fail. I wished I had ordered the Teddys sandwich–at least it wasnt dripping with sauce. I suspect the over-use of spreads, sauces, what have you was to disguise the bland taste of the food. This brunch definitely wasnt worth shoveling out $42.

I was at The Goodnight last night for my companys holiday party. Ive been wanting to check this place out so this was a great way to check it out for free. The vibe of the venue is pretty nice and you can tell it is new. Our company occupied the bowling lanes space, a few pool tables, and the karaoke room for part of the time. The first thing I noticed is that the bowling scoring is done via paper. I read the instructions and was lost after the first two sentences. Luckily someone around me had a great idea to download a bowling scoring app (who knew that was a thing?!). I ended up opting out of playing but it looked like a lot of fun. As with most holiday parties we partake in the spirits aka adult beverages. I tried The Wooten drink which is allegedly the sweetest on the menu. It was not that sweet and I wasnt impressed. I switched to a margarita which was much better although not sweet. For the food it wasnt too bad. I had a beef slider, small slice of pepperoni pizza and a chocolate cupcake. The cupcake was probably the best part although it was very chocolatey which some may not like. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to The Goodnight. It was free and I had fun but I dont think it will make my list of places I will visit if I am paying.

Im not a huge fan. For bowling, they try to keep it old school (read: not electronic) and you have to keep your own score. They tell you how on the slip, but I am trying to have fun, not do math. The ping-pong tables were good. Shuffleboard was good too. The boyfriend and I got some food to go along with our fun and everything was ok. Not great. We had the Pulled Pork Sliders, Onion Rings (which were really Onion Strings) and The Paloma. As a side note, I would not suggest getting food and bowling. There arent really "tables" and going between bowling and eating just seemed to be chaos and a mess waiting to happen. I dont know if it was this space specifically, or in general, but dont do it. Eat first. Play later. We went in the middle of the day on a weekday, so we were pretty much the only ones around, so not sure what it looks like at night. The server was pretty attentive, though there was no one else around. Its cool that Sundays are free, or so Ive read, and very well they should be, because every other time, it is way too pricey for just an ok time.

I just called because I couldnt find the $100 gift certificate my husband gave me for my birthday. We moved and it got lost in the shuffle, but Ive been wanting to go. The manager I spoke with at 12:09p on 12/20/13 was very rude. I said that it doesnt say on the paper certificate that if lost, its irreplaceable. He said hed "be sure and include that in the fine print and tell the powers that be" in a sarcastic tone. Apparently, they can look it up by a code that youre supposed to memorize in the event the paper goes missing? Doesnt make any sense. Also, he said he could look it up by the name of person who bought it, but there are thousands, and it would be too hard. I dont understand. I have never been, I would like to come spend money there, I am genuinely trying to track down my $100 gift and I was made to feel stupid. Is there anyone there that cares?! If not, youve lost me as a patron and all my friends and family and thats just too bad. All for just $100 that you could find if you just looked into it.

Alas, I ended up going for lunch. WAAAAAY too expensive (seriously, $20pp for BURGERS?!). We were practically the only ones in there and the hostess couldnt figure out how to put two tables together (largest in the place seated 4) and seemed reluctant to do so after we suggested. Waiter was a total Eeyore. I ordered the beef tenderloin panini with the spicy o-rings. Husband ordered the fried chicken special, and friends ordered the pizza and the hamburger. My panini was bland-bland-bland and the chimichurri sauce was just green oil. The cream cheese was missing entirely. The "spicy" o-rings were just flour, egg and oil (shoestring style) and if not for the katsup would be completely devoid of flavor. My friends hamburger was ordered medium and came out burt to a crisp - bun was black, meat looked like a hocky puck. He would have sent it back, but it took forever to get our food in the first place. We spent an hour and 45 minutes there and felt completely fleeced. sigh....

This place is a lot of fun all the time, but Sunday brunch is the best. If you get there within 30 minutes of opening you wont have a problem getting on one of their free bowling lanes (yes, I said free bowling), and if youre in a rush you can down your mimosa and your chicken friend antelope and be on your way in no time. If you arent in a rush hang out and bowl, play pool/ping pong, or grab a board game from the game warden (no joke, my friends and I were having such a good time that our brunch lasted 6 hours... #SorryImNotSorry). Staff is always really nice and are surprisingly cool with following you to your different activities. Just make sure to tip them well... Nothing pissed me off more as a server when people moved around a whole bunch and didnt appreciate me being able to keep everything straight still. These guys are awesome. Pro tip: MEGAMOSA!! Its a full bottle of champagne topped off a little juice of your choice. Only $10 compared to the individual mimosas for $1 each.
