I have been visiting the O.D. Pavilion since 1965. The charm is this is a snapshot back in time to the way the beach was. I chuckle when I read the reviews that criticize because it is not "modern, slick and plastic. The younger generation cannot see or understand this type of attraction. They would not enjoy stopping at a service station that had rattlesnakes on display or a dog sleeping on the front porch.. They know nothing of Burma Shave signs. Overpriced ? How about the hundreds of dollars a day you pay to sleep in a tall building obstructing the great ocean vista? If you cannot tolerate being close to everyday people trying to make a living in a seasonal economy, why not max out your credit cards at Disney World instead. I talk to these folks and when you do that they open up, but "tourists" with attitude can wear on anybodys patience. Hello they dont conduct business by phone or text. They just are there hours a day. This new culture has practically destroyed this countrys beaches just so pampered guests can sit behind glass and have air conditioning. "Shady" - I think not... Genuine and Authentic - yes. I am thankful for this shrine. Help support the heart of Carolina Beach music and try before you turn up your nose. Hoy Hoy

This place is dangerous and should be shut down. I have no idea how they continue to stay in business. The scariest thing that I observed was when the Spider ride was shut down for maintenance. I watched a woman and man attempt to work on the ride for several minutes. After they were done the woman was visually angry and the man had his hands in the air as to say I dont know how to fix this. They both walked away arguing while the ride manager allowed a new group of people on the ride. Scary, who knows what was happening with the ride but the patrons safety did not seem to be a concern. The employees were all rude with the exception of boat ride manager and alien abduction ride manager. I didnt come across one employee that didnt appear either drunk or high. They were not in the correct frame of mind to have peoples lives in their hands in both operation and maintenance. We spent the money for our family to have unlimited rides. For the price, the complete disregard for safety and basic customer service I would highly recommend that you steer clear of this place regardless of all the shiny lights.

In the heart of North Myrtle Beach with plenty of free parking nearby, you can walk around here for free, but if you want to ride any rides, its $1.50 per ride ticket or around $30 for an all-access wristband. For instance, if you wanted to ride the roller coaster, thats $7.50 per person alone. If you have several children who only want to ride one or two rides each, it doesnt tend to work out well for you. We bought a $40 string of tickets that got 4 onto the Ferris wheel, 4 onto a wave swinger, and 2 into the funhouse. This pack of tickets comes with 5 bonus tickets, but they arent good for rides, just $1 off games or food, and you cant use them all at once. We ended up parsing them out for soft serve ice cream and that was a decent deal. But overall, we were disappointed in both the cost and the low level of thrill to be found. If youve got one kid of an elementary school age who wants to ride it all, that would be a better deal. For four kids and two adults, its was too costly.

Great for smaller kids, 12 and under. Maybe 10 and under. A decent way to spend the evening while on vacation with a house full of kids. Many, many of the rides were down/not operating. The unlimited ride wristband for the kids was nearly $30, and I dont feel it was a good value for the money. You can see the painful fact of deferred maintenance on the rides. On the scrambler type ride, the operating mechanism is covered in duct tape, and two cans of WD40 are laying on the ground next to it. So, so, so, so many light bulbs are burned out on all of the rides. One ride was closed to clean up an accident (vomit) a rider had on it, and it never reopened. Im not sorry we went! We had a great time as a family hanging out and sending the kids on the rides! Were on vacation, so it was a fitting evening activity for the situation. But, as an adult looking at it to truthfully evaluate it, the place is kind of run down and sad.

Worst experience ever in all of my years!!! First things first; Weve gotten access here for free with our hotel rental at Sand Dunes. Im just happy we didnt have to pay for this. The staff was very unprofessional as soon as we entered the park. We walked into the middle of an argument between 2 staff members; a bunch of f us and mother this. Not good, especially because we had our 4 and 6 year old boys with us. The rides were decrepit, looks like they havent been operational in years. A lot of rusted metal and ducktape everywhere. The amusement park resembled somewhat of a junkyard. The staff looked like they didnt want to be there. One guy manning the kiddie ride didnt have on any underwear. Another guy was smoking a cigarette on the roller coaster. The Fun House wasnt fun at all. Everything about this place was disgusting. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. Please dont come here....

They have rides, e.g. roller-coaster, bumper cars, and stuff that spins and flies around. The bumper-cars would be $6 per person. Some rides went up from there (perhaps up to $9 per ride). To climb the revolving rung-ladder is $5. (Climb it successfully and win a prize.) They had karaoke too. Sort of a random set of visitors. Somewhat of a carnie atmosphere; not highly sophisticated; looks a little shady. Arcade room has typical games, e.g. skee-ball, and other random games like those at Chucky Cheese. (Skee Ball is 50 cents. Be careful because some of them dispense only 8 balls... Shorting you a ball. Weird. Most games seem to be 50 cents.) (They have small pool tables too; $2 to play a game I think.) Not sure about parking. I parked on the side of a street a few blocks away; not sure if it was legal.

The people who run the rides are so rude!!! No professionalism!! They leave to smoke after each ride and act as if they dread to come back and start the ride. Could be a much enjoyable place is the workers were trained to be more professional and considerate! The man that runs the ride closest to beach beside the arcade that goes up but doesnt go upside down is the worst! He acts like he absolutely hates his job and makes you never want to come back and spend a dime at this place again. Soooo disgraceful!!!! Very disappointed and will never return and will tell everyone I know about this horrible experience!!

Online advertising showed a Pirate Ship, 6 story Roller Coaster, and Go Carts and none of those rides were there. Everything was falling into different states of decrepitude. The best ride was the Frenzy, but the employee did not check seatbelts before we started. The park is not worth the price of admission. We will not go back. Go somewhere else. Do not waste your money.
