This is my favorite pet store in the area, and with the exception of the recently closed Dolphin Pet Village, the absolute best place to purchase freshwater fish in terms of variety and health. A lot of reviewers were complaining about the size of this locale. It is relatively small in comparison to some of the gigantic chain pet stores, but Pet Emporium does very well with what they have. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly; if they say youre killing your fish (however slowly) you probably are. The staff genuinely cares for each animal they have and will sometimes attempt to discourage buyers they deem unprepared for whatever animals burdens they are interested in taking on. Seriously, these guys love their animals. I noticed other reviewers stating that this place is expensive. Ive been shopping here for over ten years and (at least in regards to the items Ive purchased) their prices have been fair, reasonable, and comparable to those of competing stores. The only trouble Ive ever had here is that the variety of fish they carry can be sometimes inconsistent. Dont get me wrong, their tanks are always full of interesting critters, but the last few times Ive been there their puffer fish selection was too small. If you guys are reading this, get some more big puffer fish! Pea puffers are adorable, just too tiny to go in any of my tanks. I know some exotics can only be brought in seasonally, but Im a stubborn internet commenter gosh darnit. Keep up the good work, I love your store.

Friend got bit by a rottweiler right outside the front door so we rushed her across the lot to right aid to take care of the bite. Right before we left for urgent care i notified the workers that someone had gotten bit by their customers dog and all i got was want a band aid, what do you want us to do about it, we dont have cameras, nope cant help you unless you need a band aid. Complete bs. An establishment like that should have cameras outside and treat customers better and without attitude like they treated me. Now we had to pay $400 dollars for her medical bill because someone left their dog outside off its leash. Either they should find the owner of the dog who drove a red 4runner or they should cover our medical exspenses. Wouldve all been fine if they had acted like they cared and actually helped us out. But i guess the worker was too busy standing there to help... very disapointed with this place

Small, cramped, more expensive, and poor service. My girlfriend and I have been coming in lately just because they have the best Fish assortment available. The "guy"(longer hair and a jaw necklace) who was helping us may have known what he was talking about in regards to fish tanks, but he was a massive DICK. Repeating phrases like "youre killing your fish" and "you should really get rid of your fish" while just trying to say we need more aquarium rocks in our tank(which has no fish being killed, just in case this is read by Crocodile Dundees retarded offspring). I had to get my lovely girlfriend to calm down in the car because he made her cry.... worst part is, he did the same thing to her mom. Id only recommend this "emporium" if you want a better selection of fish, but their tanks are quite overcrowded.

I have been going to this pet store for years. The customer service is not the friendliest, however there is a new employee , a young man who introduced himself to me ( thats a first!) as Gerhard, who was extremely knowledgeable, patient and helpful. He provided courteous answers to all my questions about freshwater fish and aquaria. I was very impressed. The betta bowls were clean , the other fish talks were quite crowded. I was just about to give up on this local business because of other rude employees and poor customer service, but I see management has made a smart choice with this new addition. Hang onto this one. Good help is hard to find.

Staff seemed polite, but man this is the most cramped pet store Ive ever seen. I was in the market for freshwater fish, but the conditions here were a little appalling. They had maybe a dozen or so 5-10g tanks, each filled with around 30-40 fish! Being a beginner, I couldnt really match up anything swimming around in there with the names and prices listed. On the upside, I did notice some variaties that I hadnt seen in other pet stores in the area, but I would be a little afraid to buy anything here. The conditions here honestly make Petsmart look pretty good in comparison.

i foster senior german shepherds for the thulani dogs program. because they are old, each one has its own potential fears/joys and physical needs. Denise works with the older dogs and is gentle as can be. my next door neighbor has a sometimes grumpy 18 year old cairn terrier and swears by the small dog groomer. whenever one of my thulanis needs a bath, i will return to pet emporium, confident that my Daphne T., as Raeece T. and each ____ T. before them, will get the best treatment possible, leaving loose-fur absolutely free, non-traumatized, sparkly clean.

Ive been having touble with a tank for a while, and finally got tired of trying to hunt down help at PetSmart. A friend recommended this place and they were fantastic and had a surprisingly big inventory. I had to return the first fish because one of my other fish attacked it, but they worked with me to find a replacement and were incredibly patient with my repeted phone calls. Pretty sure I made those poor people crazy, but they handled it like a pro. Joice was especially helpful, and really knew her way around the shop.

The outside seems small but dont let that fool you! The pets here are very well handled and taken care of, no sick animals any time I go in. There is a very nice selection of animals and supplies, and the customer service is awesome! As soon as you walk in they greet you and see if they can help with anything. Also, the staff is pretty knowledgable about the care and keeping of the animals. So sad that this pet store isnt closer to where I live... But the 50-minute drive is totally worth it!

I should have known better when I dropped off Scooby. We have been here before and she had her poor little head tucked into my armpit, whimpering and shaking. I thought it was just nerves. I feel so bad. They burned her leg pits ON BOTH LEGS, NOT JUST ONE. My wife examined further and found that they burnt one of her nipples, not to mention the "baboon ass" they gave her.

Came in for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago and i got lucky to find Julia the reptile expert. I was looking for a tarantula and she helped me and showed me all the spiders they had on stock. She had lots of knowledge which was awesome and i purchased a rose haired tarantula. I live over an hr away and ide go back just for the service she provided.
