This museum has been part of the Lancaster Downtown history for many years. I remember back in 1973 or 1974 visiting here as a child. Honestly nothing has really changed. One thing that is really cool about this place is the Planetarium, when it is up and running. Manpower to man it is a issue, and as I understand it they are updating the inside of the planetarium and it is closed. In the basement is the humongous stuffed bird collection, along with a geologists dream of rock collections. There are I believe 8 bald eagles, Peregrine falcons, Owls, and other predatory birds, as well as crows humming birds, etc. I like to look at these creatures, but I dont believe that some of the exhibits have change in many years. I only go there now because my child gets bored, but I am somewhat fascinated by the history. WIth Lancaster County being so "Conservative" and "Christian", it is nice to see the other side of the picture.. Evulution in its finest moments.

We had a great time at the museum today. My daughter loves animals and this place is full of them. I appreciated the size of the museum; it was a manageable excursion that you can see what they have to offer in an afternoon. Thanks for your commitment to veterans as a Blue Star museum. This wasnt a huge issue with a three year old with us, but if I have one piece of advice its to provide more information about the animals whether thats in the form of tour guides or guides stations in certain sections, printed materials, or even links / QR that I could see a video or go to a web page about the animal. Theres a small sign with their habitat, lifespan, etc. but we happened into a staff person feeding a legless lizard and learned a lot in that few minutes chatting. It would add to the experience to have that kind of background accessible for all of the animals when someone is so inclined.

My parents used to take my sisters and I to the museum when we were young. They were so excited to check it out with the remodeling that has been going on. We could not have been more disappointed. Aside from the displays being underwhelming (we brought my 3 year old nephew), the museum is very baby unfriendly. There was no changing table in the supposedly new bathrooms and no counter space. I had to change my 3 month old on the floor of the bathroom. When my well-meaning mother asked the front desk attendant if there was a comfortable place for me to nurse (I was already nursing while wearing her), she responded, "Well, no, but it is allowed". So nice of her to give me permission to feed my child. She then had the nerve to add, "Just be discreet about it, there are children here". Needless to say we will not be returning.

It was a nice day trip. 3 floors of stuff to see but over all was a small exhibit. The sci some is extra and each additional movie is $4.00. although the movies is informative to some (I knew this stuff already) the movie was short and dark. I kept want to adjust the brightness level like you do on your TV when the picture is dark. The gentleman who hosted the movie was great. Oh and due to letting light in once your in the movie and you leave it to say....go to the bathroom... youre not allowed back in. So do that stuff before you go it.

Was looking forward to visiting since we havent seen the remodel. However, we paid nearly $20 to see a few fossils and animals we could have seen at "That Pet Place". An entire section was shut down on the first floor and the second floor consisted of 2 dozen pictures. Big whoop! The theater is an extra cost and they were full for the last showing of that day. Yes, I should have checked the schedule but there should have been more to see. Took my 7 yr old wont go back.

I enjoyed it. The upstairs art gallery was kind of a ripoff though. They had a small live animal section which was the best thing ever! They also have a small gift shop, which if you go you need to leave with a celestial buddy. They had cool science things, like a tornado machine, and it was fun to walk around and see the things. They also have toys in a couple different areas so if youre coming with young kids therell be something to occupy them if they get bored.

I wasnt sure what to expect, but this museum was tiny! Despite the size, it is full of an array of really interesting stuff. Perfect for young kids and toddlers. I wasnt worried about them running off and getting lost. The cost for 5 people wasnt bad compared to other places, but considering how small it is, it is a tad pricey.

Field trip here..a bit unorganized..then after a movie in the dome (which seemed well below fifth grade science) the "science guy" was unable to answer half of the 5th grade questions. They have some interesting exhibits, but they took really, really long to ring up the kids gift shop items too. Staff was friendly.

It was a nice way to spend a morning with the kids, although once youve gone theres not much of a reason to return. Our favorites were the dinosaur fossils, and they had some craft areas set up that day as well.

This was a very cute little museum. I took my 3.5 yr old and she had so much fun. It was inexpensive and we were able to do the entire building in under 2 hours. Nice for a quick, fun and educational day trip.

The North Museum is a great spot to spend about an hour, but gets repetitive and is too limited to spend much more time. It caters to older children and has a lot of interactive things for them to play with.

My 5 year old daughter loved it so much that we became members. Its a smaller museum, but very clean and great for the 3 to 8 age group. Membership also currently includes access to over 300 other museums.

Its a small museum thats very hands on for kids. It has a great local animals discovery room and a kid can spend many a happy hour there exploring.

Very disappointed, no staff around to assist you with guided tours, or explanations. Kids very disengaged. Not worth the money.
