Brought in a growler from another brewery to fill it up with one of IHs brews. This was my first time tasting any of their beers, and I thought they were pretty good. I bring in my growler, because it has a nice handle and good seal, not one of the ones that you can buy at IH or at many other places; those caps just are not that great. Upon presenting the bar tender with my growler, he stated that he could not fill it up. I asked if it was because it had another brewerys name on it. "Not only that, but if we were to fill up this growler, even if we cleaned it, and you got sick from our beer, it could come back to us, because its in this growler." I couldnt believe it, and was extremely disappointed. So I presented it to our waitress who said something along the lines of "...we wouldnt be promoting our beer..." First off, I dont want to have to buy a new growler every time I want to get one filled, I have plenty of the type of growler that IH sells, with the crappy tops, I dont need another one. Secondly, what if I brought in an IH growler, even if they cleaned it there, I could "still get sick" because I brought it in from outside; again I dont want to have to buy a new growler every time I want to fill it up. Thirdly, who exactly am I promoting to as Im walking from the brewery to my car, and then to my house? If anyone else sees or tries the beer from the growler, I will inform them of what beer is in it. I have never been to a bar that wouldnt fill ANY growler you bring in or even heard of a thing like this. I was extremely disappointed in the service because of this, and I will not be returning. Sad, because I enjoy drinking local and trying new things.

The Porter I ordered was fantastic! There atmosphere is comfortable, and you can show up dressed casual, in after church or business dress and be right at home. I have made burgers a bit of a hobby/passion of mine for about 15 years now, and in my assessments Im quiet fair in taking into account price, whether or not its the meat, roll or toppings that make or break the sandwich. My burger was $13+, I ordered my burger medium, and with fries. The meat was dry even though there was some pink, had little to no flavor? The roll was good, and although the toppings were lacking (thin fried onions, and blue cheese) they had good flavor, and the blue cheese was outstanding! Both the regular and sweet potato fries were good, and I enjoyed the coleslaw it came with. The meat was the most disappointing part of the meal and if I rated it on a scale of 5 Id give it a 2. So what If recommend to overcome the dryness is to order a bit more towards the rare side. Because the rest of the meal and atmosphere were good Id give them another try and see no need to give them a lousy review, but if youre a burger person lower your expectation I know I would have been happier at Red Robin.

This place was great! Very knowledgeable and kind staff that is very helpful if you are not very familiar with craft beer. There was about 14 beers offered, 7 which were house beers that are always on tap and 7 seasonals. They offer beer flights for 4 beers at $6, but they allow you to get as many as you want since they charge $1.50 a taste. Very flavorful and crafty beers. The food was delicious and perfectly portioned for the price. This wasnt your average bar/pub fare which is a nice change for a good dinner spot. Definitely try the Brisket Fries, they are amazing! The atmosphere itself was also very nice. The overall setting was more of a restaurant than a brewpub, but Ill take that for a change. This was a great spot for dinner and Ill certainly be returning. They are also a chain so they have multiple locations in the Philadelphia area. Dont forget to reserve a table on OpenTable!

My fiance and I stopped by relatively late to grab some shared apps, a beer sampler and a dessert. Our server, Derrek, was fantastic. He was present but not over-bearing and he knew when to let us be instead of being obtrusive. Afterwards, he even gave us a tour of the brewery at his suggestion, which we both enjoyed. The only negative Id have to say is the prices are rather salty. The beer sampler was priced reasonably ($1.50 per 4 oz. sample) but the food was over-priced by at least $1 to $2 per item. We ordered the egg roll sampler for $13 and the quesadilla for $9. The food was good, no doubt, but $9 for a quesadilla with 3 pieces and 3 large egg rolls for $13 is a tad excessive. I would compare this place to the Rock Bottom chain of brewpubs but with pricing thats a little higher than usual. Overall though, I nice visit which was made entirely by Derrek.

Think: Craft beer dumbed down to play to those who think Blue Moon, Sam Adams and Stella Artois are good beer. I am a Beer Snob. Specifically, a bitter ale snob. Any brewpub that has only ONE bitter ale isnt quite up to par in my book. Their ONE bitter ale wasnt that bitter and overall wasnt that good. Brewpubs should NOT have a lite beer. Thats just WRONG. That being said, their porter was passable. Nothing to write home about. Thats the only reason they are getting an "OK" rating. Food was good but substantially overpriced. Waitstaff was very good. Overall, not a place in intend to frequent. But, if someone insists on going (and I cant get them to go to Lancaster Brewing across town) I would go back reluctantly. If youre reading this review and want my opinion, skip Iron Hill and go to Lancaster Brewing.

We came here for my sons birthday dinner and we could not be more disappointed. I ordered the ahi tuna and risotto special which youd think given the fact its a special it is a perfected dish but it was terrible. The tuna that I asked to be rare came out almost well done and the risotto was not cooked correctly. Didnt come out hot. Had zero flavor. Also, my son ordered a kids pizza, my husband ordered an adult pizza and both came out looking the exact same but my husbands was obviously much more expensive...while the kids pizza came with a side, drink and dessert. That makes no sense. The pizza also had zero flavor. Everything else our party ordered was just mediocre and we were so underwhelmed that we asked them not to bother bringing out our sons free birthday dessert. We will definitely not be returning.

Went on Valentines Day after I tried for a month to get in there. It was horrible from start to finish! Beers tastes like piss and food was over priced crap. I had scallops where I was actually chewing sand! Girlfriends chicken was awful and just 20$! We finally complained which took then 15plus minutes to come back and offer the meals for free, which we never ate but charged me for the craft moose piss beer. Brought us a dessert. Apple crisp with ice cream which was awful too! Who puts lemon in it? Awful service, food, beer! Plus the prices are ridiculous for dealing with this bs! Never going back, go to McClearys! Its amazing!
