One of those rare small town sort-of-hidden gems. Its downtown-Portland quirky in the beautiful little town of Silverton. Well worth the drive to stroll the main street to check out the bookstores (one of em run by a fellow Oklahoma refugee), antique stores, and cafes. Sit in for a feature film or a matinee...and dont miss the popcorn, sodas, and candy - prices are exceptionally low and the popcorn is perfect.....a layer of popcorn, drizzle in real butter, another layer of corn, finish off with another generous drizzle of butter. I hope it stays around for another 75 years or so....along with the drive-in at Newberg, of course.

Recently moved to town, and have been twice. I was thinking 3 stars after first visit because of cramped, straight-back seating that didnt recline. However, on visit two, we sat closer and realized the seats were much better and had more room! Strange because they all appeared new. They also had live music before our Saturday night show. I havent tried the popcorn or candy yet, but overall the place is great. Minus one though for not having better seats & space throughout ( the place is plenty big enough), and for not showing any old movies.

Very *affordable* and amazing. I really enjoy the popcorn and all its different flavors. The soda options and slushee options are as well *pleasing* to me. But of course there cannot be a good review without a *mistake*. The seats in the back sometimes are *sticky*. I recall going *3 times* and having at least 5 different sticky seats with sticky floors. I do understand that slushee spill is hard to get out but it wouldnt take long to look up a good cleaning recipe. Thus ends my review.

I have been coming to the Palace theatre since I was fifteen, more years ago than I care to admit....going to the Palace has always been a highlight. We always check to see if what we want to see is playing there first. The cost of the tickets, the ambiance, and Stu have always welcomed my family graciously. The Palace Theatre deserves the highest rating possible. I will continue to enjoy this wonderful theatre for years to come.

BEST POPCORN EVER!! The Palace Theater in Silverton, OR is our home-town movie theater. The combination of the beautifully restored art-deco design(s), the "old-school" box office along with the "vintage" cartoon suggesting everyone "..go to the lobby to get yourself a treat.." all make for a wonderful movie going experience that is a throwback to a buy-gone era.

Best place to watch a movie! We are coming here every time! They have the best prices on everything! The cool old time movie feel is great as well. They even have the old concessions ad they always used to play at drive in movies. I absolutely love this theater and dont plan on watching a movie anywhere else.

We love going to the palace. It is an old-time movie going experience. One theatre, old drapes, beautiful art neuvo lighting and tiles in the bathrooms. Decent priced popcorn. The only thing that could make it better is if it showed classic old movies once in a while.

Charming small town theatre showing first run movies. Less expensive than the Salem theatres and more personality. Only complaint I have is that sometimes it doesnt seem like they have enough staff on for popular openings.

Historical venue, parts of the theater are modern (3-D!) and certain aspects (like the bathrooms!) take you back a half a century, great prices on tickets AND food, the staff is great... and Stu is a great owner!

I shall never go to a Regal Cinema again. Palace Theatre has it all: affordable snacks, great service, and reasonable ticket prices! Pepsi products, too. No awful movie Coke. This is the movie experience for me.

The new seats are great, the popcorn and service beat the multiplex, and the decor creates a great mood for movie watching. It would be neat if they started doing classic movie screenings at some point.

I dont know why this says its permanently closed. Its definitely open and running current movies. Prices are cheap in comparison to regal cinemas. Even the food and drinks are reasonably priced.

I love the ol timey feel of the Palace Theatre, with its corner location and vintage up ramps to the auditorium from the snack bar/lobby. Oh, and the popcorn is the best!
