Dogs are allowed off-leash and they are having fun EVERYWHERE (especially in the river). Families, couples, and people of all ages were hanging out here! A big grassy lawn and a path that leads you to the riverfront. Looks like several people have had fires here in the past, others brought picnic supplies, and even more others were out doing water sports. Views of Portland, the river, and Sellwood Bridge. Some spots along the water are rocky while others are more sandy. Trash cans are not present along the water. Cant believe I waited so long to visit!

Its not ideal but its close enough for five stars. Large grass (or mud) area where off leash is allowed. Easy access to the river for swimming and playing and washing off the mud. This is a really awesome dog park. It is used by a lot of people and I have never had a problem with any one or any dog in the many times I have been there. This is a good place for your dog to run out all their energy. Its also a really beautiful stretch of river frontage near downtown. Lots of road construction here in early Spring 2015. WOOF!

LOVE this place!! There is a great dog park with a plethora of dogs running about. There is a nice little low dock for which to let out on your kayak, canoe, paddleboard or what have you. Its a great place to swim with a pretty good beach with enough area for quite few sun worshipers and swimmers, maybe a .3 or .4 mile stretch. In the 3 times I have been, I have met with just some really cool Portland folks and Sellwood locals. If youre looking for any of the above fun water activities.. you got to come here!

This is a good park, right on the river. If you have a dog, you can bring them and let them off the leash to run around. There are some trails that go through the trees to little "secret" parts of the edge of the river that are like little mini beaches. There are less annoying bugs at this park than others (like Laurelhurst) to eat at your legs and such. There are some pretty good Pokestops here and when we went it was a Pikachu spawn point, though that might have changed with the latest nest shuffle.

Sellwood Riverfront Park is predominantly an off-leash park. While there are tables and benches right near the water, you have to be okay with dogs running around. Ive tried eating lunch there a few times, but that tends to attract the curious canines. It would be annoying if it werent for the fact that Im in their off-leash area, so I have no right to complain. That said, its still a nice sunny spot. Word of caution though: if the rivers been flooding, half the park will likely be under water.

I LOVE this part for an outing with my dogs. Its like dog heaven. Theres a huge, grassy off-leash area and, when the river is low enough, theres a long stretch of beach where they are also allowed off leash. If youre not interested in dog running up to say hello, this may not be the best park for you. But, if youre looking for an outing for you and your pup, theres no better place in Portland!

I love the friendly atmosphere, the off leash area for my dog, and access to the water! The trails can get a little flooded, but there is some great nature to observe here and its really close the a hip downtown area for a nice bite to eat before or after a refreshing walk. It also connects right into a rail trail that goes for miles, so its a great starting and ending point for runners!

It is located walking distance from where I live, they have concerts in the summer, there is water access and even a small beach that is easily accessible. Beautiful views of downtown with a brand new bridge in the other direction make for good photo ops. Sit on the picnic tables or benches and watch the boats, paddle boards, and kayaks float on by.

This is a great park next to the Willamette river. Lots of activities here. I saw people Walking there dogs. So it is dog friendly Anns it is well maintained with a nice view of the river and a good place for accessing the water (no boat ramp)and they have nice restroom facilities. The only negative thing is the parking. ...the lot is smaller.

I hate the fact that people leave people good on the ground then yell at people for their dogs. I mean really they are dogs. I saw someone last week pin down sometimes dog for ratio.g the food that they left on the ground. Regardless, you dont man handle some strangers dog like that. How rude!

Not my favorite but I do find myself there from time to time. It does offer some, out of the way chill spots, close to running, biking, great restaurants, antique shops, boat ramp.. even a strip club (not that I go... but hey, its for those). Its a bit under groomed and feels a bit forgotten.

Like most Portland area parks. Pretty. There are always people acting a touch off-kilter around public places in Portland, and especially along the Springwater corridor. Sellwood is definitely swankier than other neighborhoods though, and the surrounding area is lovely.

The off-leash dog area is a wonderful place to let your dog meet other furry friends and offers an expansive area to play fetch! It is also much nicer than other dog parks, that can feel small and confined and sometimes unsanitary- Here it is very open and very clean!

Went to the Oaks Bottom Park and noticed this on the waterfront. Enjoyed both the day I visited. Lots of area to enjoy, walk, and have family time. The Sellwood area has a kids park area and space for the dogs. I enjoyed my day and so do my family.

I stop here a lot when I go on bike rides on the Springwater Corridor. Theres a dock and picnic tables and benches right on the waterfront to take a bicycling break. Large off-leash dog area. Good dog and dog-owner people watching spot.

It was a real treat to find an off leash area where our dogs can go swimming! Its a pretty park and you can see the city from the dock. Its pretty muddy in the grass, but there is a paved walkway. There are bathrooms, which is a plus

Not only a beach for neighborhood dogs, this place offers friendly vibe with hiking trails, birdwatching, open space park, public restrooms, access to Willamette, along with a walking dock and boating launch (not car accessible).

Easy access using the Springwater Corridor bike path. Good place to launch a kayak, listen to a summer concert, etc. Adjacent to Oaks Park Amusement center which appeals to kids if you are looking for a distraction!

Like coming here ....but there are lots of dogs here....most of them running freely...so if you have little ones you need to keep an eye out so you dont get run down by over zelous pets burning off some energy.
