Hiked the 4T trail today. Started at the nature trail, then to the crest, zoo, MAX, tram, and back to nature area. This was a great route because we got the hard uphill part out of the way first. Played the paino at the top of the crest. We refueled while in the city. Then OHSU had nice restrooms to use. Then we were back on the trails downhill to the park. Great views and wooded areas too. We did pass one sketchy guy out in the first wooded area who was probably on LSD or something, so I do not recommend to go alone at all! This route was awesome and adventurous though. Definitely a must do.

this is a nice hike, pretty typical for the Portland city area hikes, but very pleasant. At the top there is a very nice park, with great views of city and Mount Hood (i think, snow capped mountain, anyway)would be a great park for a picnic etc. Im from out of town, just living here for a couple of months so it was a nice after work hike with a fun view at the end. Be careful with dogs off leash though towards the top, the trail crosses a couple of busy streets and they sort of sneak up on you so potentially your dog could be out in the street before you realize it!

Hard to believe you are in downtown Portland among backyards when you are on these trails. Quiet. Large number of trails for hiking or trail running. I did the 4-T trail which loops you through the city using the 4 Ts - tram, trail, train, trolley. I recommend starting at Council Crest and taking in the incredible views from high above the city, then taking the 4-T trail (well-marked with signs) to OHSU. Take time to stop at the Marquam Nature Center to read up on the history of Council crest (Did you know there was a amusement park up there?) and the area.

Hiked part of the 4T trail from the Marquam Park Shelter. The lot was really easy to find. The only downfall is that there isnt a lot of spaces available and the lot only allows you to park for 2 hrs. I hiked up Sunnyside Trail and down Marquam and then Shelter Trail for a nice easy loop. It started uphill and was pretty muddy but with the rain this time of year, its expected. The trails were still in good condition, felt safe and overall the hike was fun. Id definitely do it again. #OneSmallStep #GoogleCityExpert #PDXCityExperts

I absolutely love my weekly runs in this park. It is so quiet and almost never busy expecpt on sunny days on the weekend (which dont happen too often around here). I recommend it to anyone who wants a good, uphill hike or run. You can end at the top (Counil Crest), where you will find yourself overlooking Portland, Mt. Hood, and the valley to the West. Or you can use the well marked trail system to get you to almost any other part of Portland.

I wish the city did more to support this greenbelt around downtown. There are a couple of places where the greenbelt is being throttled by fill-in development (e.g., Marquam Hill Road) which I think Portland will regret once the connectivity of the greenbelt is lost. Why does the connectivity matter: Ability to hike without "surfacing" in urban neighborhoods for miles. Ability to support animals (deer, coyote, etc.) in a connected large area.

Calm and historic. This park is tucked away and connects Marquam trail system to Council Crest. While theres not much to the park besides a (very nice) shelter, water fountain, and bike racks, the area is adequately secluded to make it worth a quick trip to get out of the city. Hikes are very hilly here, but in just about two miles you can get up to Council Crest and see the best view in Portland.

One of the best urban-esk hikes around the city, great views poke out around the trail, very quiet and peaceful. The flow of the trail might sometimes take you next to a road but it also tends to be very quiet and peaceful with potentially better views.

There is a great network of trails across Marquam hill and down to Terrwiliger, or up to Council Crest. I explore them at least once a week through the winter months, and the trails are well maintained, although perhaps less used the Wildwood, etc.

Wow! What an experience to be able to walk in a lush beautiful green and pristine Forest while being so close to downtown Portland! Be prepared for a challenging hike as the trail is very steep in some areas but totally manageable.

This is among the best places in Portland to run and hike. The park has many great trail, with many that connect to other parks. I have used the Marquam trails to connect with council crest and eventually the Oregon zoo.

Nice place to walk around, nothing particularly scenic, but keep an eye out for banana slugs. Bumped into a hobo that was living there, so try not to travel alone. Not very pedestrian friendly to get to.

A nice park, bit nothing extraordinary. Easy to reach by public transport or from OSHU. Good to connect with a trip to an aerial cable car of Portland which is free of you going to the down direction.

Marquam is an excellent park with lots of great places for hikes, picnics, playing catch or even finding a secluded spot and reading a book. I love it here rain or shine.

Loved Marquam Trail. Not much of a view, but lots of nature and dense trees. The pavilion and artwork were also nice. Not far from aerial tram.

Been hiking for several years and this location has great Northwest flora. Narrow muddy paths though. The 4T trail has a great view at the top!
