Really enjoyed our first visit to the PAM. Was able to check coats and bags at the door at no cost and they allow photography in the exhibits as long as flash is not used. Admission to see the Warhol exhibit/ perminant collection was $20 for an adult and about $17 with student ID. My husband and I arent huge Warhol fans however seeing the less iconic and smaller screenprints he produced gave us incite and further appreciation for his work. The rest of the museum was really enjoyable and the Northwest Artist section was particularly interesting to us coming from the east coast. The gift shop and coffee shop that was available inside was nice and staff was friendly and efficient. Only slight dissaointment is if you like to purchase museum specific postcards, magnets, etc. they only offered about 5 PAM items that were underwhelming. The Warhol exhibit gift shop also was filled with general warhol gifts that were not specific to the pieces on display. Overall, many nice art related gifts and items just not truly specific to the PAM. Cant wait to visit again!

The art here is excellent. But be warned: they make it known that they do not want kids younger than 4 years old in their museum. Thats exactly what they told me when they pulled us aside after buying tickets for our family, which includes one very well behaved two year old who had not said or done anything to provoke a reaction from them. "Children younger than 4 should not visit the museum." That is a literal quote. Later they had a male guard attempt to bully my wife, speaking in a loud voice and wagging his finger in her face like she was a misbehaving dog. Her crime? - being present in the museum with a child. He just wanted to do a preemptive strike to let her know that "children under 4 really should not be in the museum." It was the same thing the other person had said; it was like he was reading a script from the museums anti-child policy. They are nasty people who, in my opinion, hate children and families.

Sept 12 through 14th 2017 a PREX legal conference here. I kurt brown, aka saintrambone, former fdic bank examiner may attend. We FDIC were stunned unconscious without knowing it at first. Deregulation 1999 Gramm Leach Bliley act I am considering law school but would like a attorney for workers compensation for brain stroke at base of occipital and parietal lobe. Loomis Sacramento 1999 robbery a mystery was coupled to my abduction and first day at fdic. I suspect Loomis is robbed at will by stunning celestial or terrestrial. FDIC was robbed murders rape maiming and I suspect they got into the computer hubs. Portland should be on the way to Kurts place in Seattle. Seems brotherly Whats in your mother board? I fix the equation in art and on the chart table and bring art

but its been well worth it. I started years ago taking classes at the NWFC before committing to the Certificate Program. I was accepted to a school in Canada but due to money issues, those plans fell through. Thats when I enrolled in the Certificate Program which was a great way to get my feet wet in all type of filmmaking. I think that taking the experimental film and documentary classes have helped shape how I wanted to tell narratives, which I dont think other schools would have inspired me to do. I was also fortunate to intern with the school which also taught me a great deal. Im not much for the school setting, but the film center worked great for me. It opened doors for me to work with a lot of local directors and get inspired to make film.

Unhelpful and indifferent. I would describe the woman at the ticket counter in this way. I went to the museum to buy tickets in advance for the Samurai Exhibit and I had specific questions about finding a wheelchair for my mom. The ticket woman never lifted her eyes from her computer screen and pointed to the ticket sign above her head as if that sign would answer all my questions, it did not. She was outright rude when she had to pull herself away from her screen and actually talk to me. When it came to buying my tickets, she was not paying attention and almost sold us the incorrect number of tickets. Is it so hard to find an employee who represents the Art Museum well? I will NOT become a member of the Art Museum, this was an awful experience.

The Portland Art Museum has a good selection of modern contemporary art, traditional classical art, as well as installations and some sculpture work. The layout of the museum can be kinda confusing. With multiple levels and rooms you can easily loose yourself. This can be a wonderful thing if you dont mind some possible backtracking; This could also be a negative if you are a completion-ist and want to see everything in a orderly manner. The price of the museum is kinda spendy if you dont recede in Multnomah county and pay the "art tax" When I last visited the museum in this past weekend, their were some exhibits that I saw on my previous visit, probably a year ago.

$5 After 5p Fridays? Need I say more? OK. Fine, Bank of America Museums on Us days? OK, more? Free 4th Friday of EVERY month! That get you to want to go? No this is not the Louvre, which I have been to and did see the Mona Lisa at, but they have a great permanent and rotating collection. My personal preference is that I go at least once a month minimum [although I think I went like 4+ times to see the The Art of the Louvres Tuileries Garden - it was amazing!] and wanna know how popular this place is? They have a waitlist to Volunteer! Yes, to volunteer! Also, been here for a private event in the building next door & that rocked too!

I have been to the Portland Art Museum more than once, but I really wanted to speak about my most recent experience. I went to the Body Beautiful exhibit and I have to say that I was very disappointed by the curation of the exhibit as a whole. I didnt feel like the exhibit was very detailed- it felt more like a general introduction to Greek images of the body. In addition, the plaques were so small that they were hard to read without getting really close to all of the other people trying to read it at the same time. They could easily make the plaques larger so that more people can read at one time.

I just got home from an awesome tour of the Warhol Exhibit, with the awesome docent Marilyn. I went with a group of friends and thanks to Marilyn we ended up with a much greater knowledge of Warhol and an admiration we hadnt had before. We talked to a group of friends who had been on the tour with a different docent and we were all amazed at how much we knew about him and how little the other group had learned. In fact, they were very disappointed in their tour, while we were all extremely pleased with ours. Thank you Marilyn for a wonderful tour and experience.
