Their service are terrible and unfriendly employees. They come to Reno NV once a year. Made an appointment when I went to renew my passport it was so much of people in line. I come to find out you dont need a appointment to get there. If I knew I didnt need appointment as they advertise on their website. I couldve got there earlier. Its unorganize service. Another issue I had with them a long process they give me a hard time. I did not bring my passport because I had my old passport with me I didnt think I needed my birth certificate. So I had to go home to get my passport after waited in lines 30mins. And then after went home and my got my passport went back, I had to get in line again. One of the lady that works their they said my birth certificate is not acceptable. So I had to get one online. The good thing is I put their address instead of my address.I figure if I do that way it will take short process. But over two months I have not received my passport until now. And then every time I call its so hard to hold of them. Its like were contacting a regular phone number no ones home. The message inbox are full. This is a government business. I was calling for inquiring about my passport lift a message. These lady calls me back sounded uninterested to hear what I have to say, if I had any questions she didnt even ask me. She was not friendly sounded like she has a bad day. Which is not to good for customer service. On the phone I have a feeling she just cant to wait get off the phone with you. She sounded frustrated.

I went it there to apply for a Philippine passport since Im a dual citizen. I also needed have a power of attorney notarized by the Consulate so my friend can transact my business in the Philippines. It was fairly straight forward and was out of there in a few hours including lunch on the fourth floor while I waited for the same day service for the notarized power of attorney. Just make sure you bring all your documents and make copies of them ahead of time to avoid having to copy them again; bring your US passport too if you plan to apply for a Philippine passport. Read the website so you know what to bring but I can empathize for the older folks who have to go back and forth because they did not bring the proper documents or missing one document like one elderly man I saw in front of me in the information line. You dont need to bring passport photos anymore since they have cameras connected straight to their computers. I guess I had a pleasant experience along with nice affordable Filipino lunch two floors down. They said it would be ready by 2pm and I picked it up by 1:30pm so I was very happy.

To the Philippine Consul in San Francisco, I have been trying to reach the Philippine Consulate office in San Francisco for the past 3 days but all I got was a recorder. Per recorder, I should press 0 to reach the operator but all I got was," that extension is not reachable at this time". I tried many times but it was always the same message.. When will the operator be reachable? You need a real person to take calls. Your office is not service oriented at all, your employees should take classes in how to give good services. Im sorry to say but Im ready to report this problem to the office of the Philippine President I know very well that President Noynoy wants change. Im sure he wants to hear from us here abroad. Its so sad to say that whatever system you have is not working. Im sure there must be thousand of Filipinos who are very dissatisfied. We expect a better service from your office.. Please do something about it.

For a month now, weve been trying to call and talk to a live person. Since no one ever picked up, I left two or three messages. Since we have not still heard from them, we used the old fashion method - snail mail - with the needed money order to pay for required fees. That has been two weeks ago. I just called twice today to follow through and there was a different voice in the mailbox and this time, there was no identification of the number reached. I double checked and I did dialed the right number as posted on their website. I do not know what else to do if we do not hear from them the soonest as the document requested is urgent. We are quite a distance from San Francisco. Actually, not even a one star; I needed it to post my review.

Is there a 1/2 or 1/4 star? Does not even deserve a star. Nobody as in nobody answers the phone! Even if you know the extension, it goes to a recording and nobody returns the call. An employee called my phone one time asking me to return a call, then I called right away because it was about my passport and then for almost an hour I have not been successful getting her on the phone. I left a multitude of voicemail messages. Eventually I just gave up because I was busy working in the hospital. I just looked up the google comments here and it is pretty consistent. How is that for service my fellow countrymen? Poor Philippines! It is because of people like you that makes me sometimes ashamed to be identified as a Filipino.

I must say that it is shameful that the Philippine consulate in San Francisco receives the same bad rap as that of agencies in the Philippines. Unfortunately, I have experienced the same treatment that others were frustrated about! Is it too much to expect people in this office to ANSWER THE PHONE? Is there any other number taht we could call aside from the one listed? What is our recourse to this horrible kind of service? Who do we need to call, write, petition, talk to, or harangue to get these people to answer the phones? Sad to say that the the Filipinos work ethic in Philippine agencies follow them here in San Francisco. After all, the Philippine embassy is still an extension of the Philippines, right?

Okay people, all of the bad reviews are coming from those trying to CALL ONLY! All of the positive reviews are based on customers who have actually been there and RECEIVED SERVICE! Go to the website and look how many Philippine consulates there are Then, look to see what areas they cover. Now, take into consideration why you cannot reach them on the phone each time you call. YOU are not the only one calling! YOU are not the only one with questions! And, YOU are not the most important person in the world! Be patient and keep trying. Most, if not all of your questions can be answered on the website. Even the forms are there for download prior to visiting, plus checklists of required items. Google also works!!!

I been calling for the past two days trying to speak to someone regarding passport renewal and It was very prostrating because you call and no matter what department you selected there is no body answering your call. But one thing I did not do was listen to the full recording and leave a message. So I called again and listen to the recording and dial the extension for the departments that I was trying to contact and left a message for someone to call me back. surprisingly 15 mins later a lady called me back and she was very helpful with a lot of useful information and also very polite. I suggest to those who is calling for information to dial the right department extension and leave a message. =)
