This place is a little rough around the edges- its on Powell (very busy street), there is a very run-down camper always parked in the parking lot- but its also a beautiful little park with a great swimming pool. We love the swim lessons there and the open swim for families and sometimes we have time to play on the playground afterwards. The playground is set far back from Powell and there is shade. Ive always felt safe and the kids enjoy it.

The second best and least appreciated part relative to its notoriety is the little dip in the ground below and to the right of the Western stairs on Powell. It gets sun in the afternoon when every other part of the park is getting the long shade of tall trees. The second point I want to make is that there are usually old people in the pool if you come at night in the summer. I dont know about you, but that makes me feel safe. Great park!

"One of the new wave of multi-use neighborhood parks during the City Beautiful movement, this property became a park due to a bond issue for parks and playground expansion approved by voters in 1919. The natatorium (swim facility) was construced in 1925 along with two brick comfort stations. By 1926, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, and a ball field were added."

I feel like Im in my own back yard. Friendly people and the few homeless people that care take around there are sweet and helpful . Last week a fella named Pat , help me when my stroller wheel went flat. He patched the tube and aired it up. He tried refusing a $5.00 but eventually realized he wasnt going to win that battle. Thank You Pat.

Classic old Portland park. Large grove of giant Doug fir trees, tons of reservable picnic space, big $4/swim heated outdoor pool (summer only), walking paths, big open Central Park–style lawn, off-leash area, awesome flowering trees in the spring and little undeveloped parts that would have been amazing when I was like age 7.

This is a great park for walking and playing with our dog. Theres almost always a couple of other dogs in the large un-fenced off-leash area. In the summertime, there will often be families or groups using the communal grills and set of picnic tables. Folks are always welcoming and friendly.

Great park. Except for there can be homeless people sometimes which isnt necessarily a bad thing. And also the idiot dog walkers who dont follow the signs and keep their stupid dogs on a leash.

Quiet friendly neighborhood park. Its kept clean for the most part. There a few houseless folks who stay around here, but they keep to themselves and are polite.

I really like audacity but because of that fact that its an open source program it can lack reliable features. But i mean at least its free

I went to school here. Swam at the pool as a kid. Not now. Crime, homeless tents you name it. Seems somewhat unsafe now!
