UPDATE 11/19/2014: The orange county (orlando) health department called me to let me know that they visited the resort to check for BED BUGS and found that the units I had stayed in have been ripped apart and closed and that they are being renovated. I have no doubt to believe that this renovation is taking place due to the fact that I had called the resort to report the incident and seeking reimbursement. Bottom line, I am happy that something is being done but I am not happy to shell out the $2000-$3000 to take care of the situation at my house. In summary, I would never visit this resort again after this experience and dont recommend it to anyone. The management and people in charge proved that they care about covering up and getting the units fixed before the health dept could check to avoid any fines and cases. They were least bothered about the customer and used the information to help themselves, very typical of the world we all live in. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We traveled to Orlando to visit Disney parks and stayed at this place for 3 nights (7/6/2014 - 7/10/2014). NOTE: we drove all the way from Indiana to Orlando in our own honda odyssey. Good and OK things first 1. The location of this resort place is very close to the magic kingdom and the parks, 2. People at the front desk were courteous. 3. The rooms were spacious and ok (3 out of 5). NOTE: entrances and the area outside main door to get into get into the rooms were below par and not clean and littered with plastic etc NOW the NOT so good and TERRIBLE things 1. The first night after my kids woke up with bug bites on their arms and legs. I thought they were mosquito bites. Bought an itch cream and applied to their bites 2. The second night - same as #1 3. The third night - same as #1 and #2. Still thought moquito bites 4. Checked out on 7/10 and headed back to Indiana; Now the real nightmare started. Each day after returning my kids and wife were waking up with bites and rashes and subsequently had terrible itching, swelling etc. So time to visit the doctors. The doctor thinks they are not any skin allergies or disorders and suggests to check the house out for other bugs 5. We eventually find BED BUGS and the nightmare continues. I eventually get my house heat treated by ORKINS for $2000. 6. Field a complaint with the resort as early as 3 weeks later (8/9/2014). The manager tells me a day after the complaint that there are no BED BUGS in the rooms and eventually my requests for reimbursing my expenses to treat the BED BUGS are denied. 7. Time to file a complaint with the health agencies. 8. Time to write a HONEST review on the web site to make others aware of the issue. I dont think the management is serious enough to address the issue.

Weve only been here 15 hours and already want to leave. To start off theres no disclaimer on the website or even groupon that tells you this place is 30 miles from the airport and will cost you nearly $100 with tip for a 1 way trip there. Theres also no shuttle to or from the airport. The people are friendly for the most part but the customer service side is terrible. They have a guard at the gate that will get out and basically harass your cab driver wondering whos in the vehicle, this is because they dont allow deliveries to the resort. Thats right, if you want to order any food you have to meet them at the gate to get it. Also someone will call you over to another "Check-in" station after youve gotten your keys to give you your "Welcome Package", just tell them youre good. Its a little bag full of crappy coupons to local places that pay the resort to pass them out, $20-30 for a pizza that feeds 1-2 people? PASS! Their "Complimentary Shuttle Service" is garbage, theyll drop you off before the parks open and you have to wait until the end of the day. This resort also isnt 2 miles from Disney World, its 5, and unless you want to walk 10 miles around the highway or walk on the highway you have to pay for an over inflated cab, $2.40 to start and $2.40 for every mile, plus tip. THE PARK SHUTTLE DOES NOT TAKE YOU TO DISNEY WORLD. If you ever try calling anyone for anything make sure you have a lot of time on your hands, they almost never answer. Ironically this is the same thing that happened when I called to confirm my reservation, 3 times. Dont eat at the Kenzies bar and grill, it takes forever, theres barely any waitstaff on hand and they take forever for everything. I went to the grocery store this morning, it was a total rip off (Win Dixie). The rooms have hair and dust all over the floors and bath tub but it wasnt a big deal. The kitchens are nice as well as the rooms themselves (the only good thing about this place). THERES NO HOT TUBS. I love hot tubs, I will hands down pick a less elegant place to stay if it has a hot tub over a place that doesnt. The pools are warm but Im no longer 12 and swim for 3 hours and need a nap, I like to relax in a hot tub with a drink and then lay out. Also dont mind that everyone here is about 70 years old and all wear speedos, DISGUSTING. Id give this place a 2/10. If you plan on staying here make sure you have your own vehicle, food, GPS and not a care in the world. Well be here another 4 days so hopefully things get better and Ill decided to change my review.

Where do I start!?!?! Mystic Dunes was a terrible experience. The room we stayed in was the 1 bedroom and 1 bath. We got a peek at our neighbor’s room the 2 bedroom and it was no better. The picture on the website was not where the “renters” (our tour guide shared) or time share “exchange” people (people next door from Atlantic City) stay according to the people there. We repeatedly asked for an upgrade and never received satisfaction and it took us 12 hours and repeated requests for a crib to arrive (2 calls and a desk visit). The room was 10 years outdated, the knobs on the washer/dryer kept falling off, the construction was shoddy, the beds were worn out and uncomfortable, the blankets had holes in them, the sheets were frayed at the edges, the rug in the living area was frayed, the bath tub plug fell out when trying to plug the tub, our trash can was stolen when we placed the trash outside, and we could hear our neighbor’s loud and clear at all hours. The sales presentation did not start until 10:30am and breakfast was terrible with the exception of the sausage. It lasted until 1:30pm. We had to go through three sales people and the last guy was the strong arm. Not only was he angry we did not buy he marched us to the exit door, stared us down, and said “just walk on that yellow line and get out”. The only thing that stopped him from throwing us out the door was the fact I pleaded with him that I had to get our children from the childcare area!! Why would you buy into a place like this?!?!? During the sales presentation, we were told that once we purchased we would have a person assigned to take care of our needs and better accommodations. Our neighbors gave a different story. They were owners and were an exchange from Atlantic City. They only saw their assigned person at check-in. After that he was not heard from again even after a series of phone calls and visits to the front desk. The third day we were there a Hispanic man came to the door and rang the door bell furiously at 7:30am! An hour later a woman tried to enter our room with her daughter. She used her key card which allowed her to unlock the door to OUR room. She had mistakenly gone to the wrong floor. The only thing that kept her from coming in was the top latch. The front gate security was a joke as well. They waived everyone though IF they were there at all. The only positives were the grounds were pretty and the location was great for Disney. WARNING – Do NOT stay here!!!! This place is AWFUL!! BTW – We have pictures!!!!
