Absolutely beautiful hike, very clean bathrooms and parking lot. No real big "views", just a nice, peaceful hike along the trail which splits off into smaller trails which are fun to wander off to. For being surrounded by residential homes and shops, I was surprised to find a hike that lets you forget about the city for awhile and just get lost in the forest scenery.

A mountain trail in the middle of neighbors and busy Sunnyside road, though most of the time you wouldnt know it. Not a ton of maintenance on the trails, it can be very slick at times. But the small network of paths provide great opportunities for hiking/walking or trail running. It is a protected nature area, but sadly most locals ignore the no dogs allowed signs.

Moderately trafficked, 1.6-mile loop hike within easy access of deep SE Portland. The Summit Trail is less trafficked, as it is the steepest but, for me, the most rewarding. Good place to keep up with your conditioning when you cant get out into the wilderness. Just rocky/rooty enough that hiking or trail-running shoes are recommended.

Beautiful trails to walk or run with family/friends. I didnt get to walk the whole trail but intend on going back soon. Therre are several different trails to choose from. The public restrooms are very clean. The parking lot is small but was not busy first thing in the morning. Cant wait to return to see the top.

I enjoyed the trails which were well-marked. Its a beautiful area! The bathroom was clean, and the park was pretty quiet. A word of caution, though: I saw patches of unmarked Poison Oak in a few places. Also, be prepared to watch your step, as there are places with exposed root systems and rocks.

Its a really nice place to walk. Its very much an area that would not be good for dogs. The trails are fine if you have shoes on but for dog it cold hurt their paws due to the jagged rock around the trail. There is poison oak there but I didnt see any close to the trails.

My in town spot for an hour and a half hike that is next to highways, but still peaceful and wild. Try it out for an easy/intermediate walk, and youll like it too I hope! The covered pavilion is great for a picnic too. Everything is well maintained.

If you want a very convenient hike with huge old maples, alders & cedars, wildflowers such as periwinkle and buttercup, no benches, picnic tables or porta potties then youll love this protected nature park. Bikes are not permitted.

This is a great place to come explore nature without having to go too far. The trails are relatively short as the park is only so big. Great place to take a child or friend/spouse for a quick healthy walk through nature.

Great trails for running. No dogs allowed :(but that may be a good thing): Well maintained; not as heavily used as you would think given its location. Although no view at the top (too many trees), still very satisfying.

2014.04.04 A lovely Friday afternoon with the sun lighting up all the moss and fern. A nice respite just a few minutes away from the madness. Perfect size park for an hour or so of wandering and enjoying the beatify.

Good trails with a nice variety of distances. Well maintained trails and good parking. Womens restroom was looking like the toilet was backed up and the mens hand dryer was broken. Otherwise, at least it was clean.

Lots of beautiful hiking trails in town. You can make the hike longer or shorter by taking different loops. Nice big parking lot with clean bathrooms and a few covered picnic tables. Just watch out for poison oak.

Dont waste youre time if you are looking to bring youre dogs with you.apparently wildlife will run and hide from quietly walking dogs and owners but not people jogging or talking and stomping through there home.

A nice place to just walk around the woods. No views to speak of really, and no dogs allowed, but still nice. Lots of mountain bikes, so Im guessing the biking trails are decent, but havent tried them myself.

Loved at twin creeks and we would run on the trails all the time and even used the trails when it snowed to get to a friends house! Beautiful place! Its like another world once you get through the tree line!

Nice place to take a hike not far from home. No dogs which can be relief in the city parks. Lots of trails and routes. Natural park. Parts are kind of odd walking right next to peoples backyards though.

Pretty dull but a great place to run or walk or whatever else in nature. If you only have a certain chunk of time, this is a great place to stop for your daily fresh breath near work or errand stops.

Id love to check it out because the pictures look lovely, but they unfortunately dont allow even leashed dogs. If Im going to drive a half hour for a hike, Im bringing my pup along.

Multiple choices for point of entry. Not too difficult hike with well marked trails. Only downside is you can hear the highway and/or Sunnyside most times of the day.

This park is perfect for beginner and intermediate walkers. We bring everyone who visits Portland from somewhere else to this park because its simply THAT beautiful.

This is a great place on Portlands East side for a nature walk. We usually see wildlife, and always enjoy the walk through the trees so close to the city.

Quite hilly and great for legal work or cardiovascular. Well marked trail loops, majestic tree scape, fair bathroom, some outdoor seating, cute sculpture.

Their reasoning for no dogs allowed is seriously ridiculous. You do know that birds have natural predators in the wild right ?!

I recently found this trail near my house. Good single track trail running with just enough variance to keep you engaged.

Nice park, no dogs allowed, the trails I saw from the north side would not be good for wheel chairs
