My wife and I were on a weeks long vacation to the Gorge and to the coast of Oregon. One of the last things we wanted to do was stop by a few wineries as we made our way back to Portland driving through the Willamette Valley. After Googling wineries in McMinnville, we decided to stop at the Sokol Blosser and Penner Ash. The Penner Ash winery was very nice and had a wonderful patio view of Mt. Hood but it seemed a bit too commercial. When we stopped by the Sokol Blosser estate we had an amazing experience. It wasnt super busy but I am guessing that is because it was a Wednesday afternoon. The servers were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Loved that the wine was done in a sustainable and organic manner. They had just moved into their beautiful new building and everything was immaculate. The wines were also incredible and we decided to become members of their connoisseurs club right then and there. I definitely think we found a gem.

My favorite winery! Love everything about this winery, from the great architecture, the woody smell that fills your nose once you step inside, to the great wines that they have for their tastings. Also, they gave me a free tasting of a rose of pinot noir. Others who came after us got the rose AND sparkling wine in addition to their tasting. The guy helping us with the tasting was SUPER friendly and helpful, and explained so much about the wine we were drinking, and about how wineries work in general--- this was only my third time going wine tasting so I had tons of questions! We came at the end of March, and the vines were pretty bare since they just pruned them, but it was still beautiful. Also since it was the slow season, there was barely anyone else doing tastings and we practically had the place to ourselves!

We loved our experience here so much we became members our first visit. The location is beautiful and their unique architecture allows for cooler shade in hot summer and dry outside seating in the wintery months. The wines are delicious, they specialize in pinot noir, but really elevate other varietals as well. The staff have been nothing but accommodating and helpful, they have called me personally many times to see if they could help save me money when I order from them! Customer service is a big deal to me, and they deliver consistently. They just changed to seated tastings to give a better experience so call ahead to make a reservation or bring a picnic to enjoy while you wait. A must stop in this area of town!

This is a large winery in the Willamette Valley area (near Dundee) that, unlike many others there, has a nice tasting room open to the public as well as a terrace and picnic areas with beautiful views. I have to say their wines were not my favorite that I tasted during my stay in Oregon, but I still enjoyed the experience a great deal mainly because of the friendly and unpretentious girl who was pouring in the tasting room, the nice weather and beautiful estate.

My wife and I went to four wineries in the area, and this is our favorite one. Most importantly, they have the best wine, but they also have the best staff. They are very friendly, available, and helpful without being overbearing or overdescriptive of the wine. In addition to that, the winery has an amazing view from the front porch of the beautiful, modern tasting house. The architecture is amazing - by far the most interesting, beautiful building in the area.

During an afternoon excursion through wine country I decided to try Sokol Blosser because of its Google reviews and the friendly reception when I called. This is an expansive property with stone patios overlooking beautiful vistas as well as a warm, friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have unique tasting rooms and a gorgeous contemporary wood building. They offer an excellent Pinot Noir flight selection with a relaxed sense of serenity. You wont be sorry...

The tasting room is very nice- really light and airy. The server was very friendly and knowledgable. We shared a reserve tasting, and there were a couple extra pours of wines he thought we would enjoy. We ended up purchasing a bottle and the tasting fee was waived, which is always very nice. The property was very beautiful and a good spot for some photos. There is definitely better wine in the valley- but I still give them 5 stars for a nice experience.

I have had a wine club membership here for at least three or four years and love Sokol Blosser wines! The new tasting room is a little too fancy for me but I have the membership so I try wines I would never think to pick out myself. Some of the wineries in Dundee charge outrageous amounts of money for not very good wines but not this one - they know what their doing and have been in business for so long for a reason!

Whats not to love about Sokol Blosser wines. They produce a good range of wines for those that need some everyday wine or something to serve at a nice dinner. Even though they get busy they take the time to tell you about each wine they pour and answer any questions you have about the wine. Take a picnic and enjoy the grounds, they have a great patio under the trees. They have some great club events if you join.

Whats not to love? Great wine, their wine club is one of the best in the region in terms of value for your money, and the new tasting room (more like a tasting complex) is amazing with its multiple settings for various kinds of tastings to private events. Since this is on one of the major routes to the coast traffic can be bad on the weekends, but thats just a good reason to spend more time out there!

These guys bottle some of my favorite pinots in the valley. They dont always have them open in the tasting room, but maybe you can get lucky! Otherwise, Evolution is a great entry level, the pinot gris is solid, and the rest of the lineup is pretty amazing as well. Highly recommend a visit. You can grab lunch somewhere and come by and hang on the patio when the weather is nice.

We came here the first day the new tasting room opened. They were working out the opening kinks, so I wont judge too hard on that. A key feature: you can reserve different rooms to have your tasting experience in... I recommend the kitchen for a ~4-8ish sized party or the downstairs for 15+. Wine quality was solid, but the view and experience is the draw.

When Ive been to Portland w/ my wife, we were being introduced to by friends we locals met the night before. We made wine tour and visited several wineries this day, but Sokol Blosser def stood out - a mindblowing architecture, stylish interior, waarm and friendly staff and the best white wine, rosé wine and sparkling wine money can buy. Def worth a trip!

The wines are barely passable, and outrageously high priced. I drink a load of $25 to 65 Pinots, theirs are $60-75, and not that great. For that price, I want to be stunned (see Prive or Willakenzie) The "Evolution"? A cheezy blend, too sweet, boring. Yes, a beautiful place, fantastic setting. The wines do not live up to the architecture.

Excellent wines in a contemporary tasting room. If you like architecture then this is a refreshing choice amongst the mom and pop places and the rustic french/ Italian style farmhouses. The view from the tasting room is great, plus theres several outdoor spaces, for picnicking and a partially covered space for lounging.
