Recently, I was kindly granted a very special visit and tour of M Cellars. They have always been on my radar from the first time that I sipped their divine vino. This was also special for reasons to follow. Armed in hand, I surprised owner Matt Meineke with one of my most prized wines from my personal collection; Rodney Strong 2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Which carries 90pts plus and a price point of $75 a bottle. This was picked up onsite while tasting in Napa/ Sonoma, 2007. This was not only a gift from me but somewhat of a challenge as well. M Cellars, on the other hand has a similar dry red, 2012 Meritage also a reserve. It carries sheer power of ripeness, but also grand structure. The flavors of deep red grapes, beautiful slight oak and complexity, yet the tannin-acid balance makes it near perfect. Locals may think that M Cellars is pricey. I am here to say after tasting around the world and what’s stated above about one of Napa and Sonoma Valley’s heavy hitters, Ohioans are getting a steal on M Cellars quality wine. The service here was wonderful. We were greeted enthusiastically upon entering and the bartender was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines. Service was fast and friendly and the wines were very delicious with a lot of variety. The bread appetizer we ordered was a little overpriced but it was fairly good. The view in the back of the winery of their vineyards was beautiful and the atmosphere was relaxing and nice.

Limited hours and availability (no buses or limos clearly on sign out front) cost them a star. With that being said, we showed up ten minutes before an early closing and were treated very nicely by the bartender. We had just ordered two pizzas from a pizza truck that they had allowed into their parking lot. The pizzas were great and we enjoyed a nice bottle of blush called Amelia while sitting on the back deck.

It was amazing my fiancé and I went here for the first time celebrating our anniversary. The staff was very helpful and help educate us on all the different wines. We look forward to visiting again now that we are members of the wine club.

Great Ohio wines that are the best Ive had in Ohio. The tasting room is welcoming and the staff knowledgeable. Matt takes his time to share his passion for grapes and wines with all visitors. If you havent been here, plan a trip soon!

Probably would of rated it higher, but it just rubs me the wrong way when a winery has posted on their front sign no buses or limos. If you are so willing to turn away money, you probably dont deserve mine.

One of my favorite vinyards in Geoga Lake. I really like their Late Harvest Traminette. The grapes were grown in the Finger Lake area and processed at the vinyard.

Love this little place! Atmosphere was great - they had a guitarist playing out on their porch that overlooks the vineyard. Wine was very good.
