On the recommendation of an acquaintance, I went at night for the music, band called GalFriday was playing and really good. The venue is small & cozy, although located in an area of town I would have never guessed. Designated parking lot is somewhat limited and very dark, overflow is on neighborhood streets that seemed a little iffy; need to check it out during the day to see where I really was, so Ill reserve making any comment on the accuracy of website photos. Nice little lawn area with trees and small stage easily view-able, they have rocking chairs & fire pits too (although didnt realize you had to rent those, which are a little pricey IMO). Monroe is not Napa Valley so dont expect it to be or to have the same wine selections, their wine was fine for the type of grapes. Dog owners... I was told the venue was dog friendly so I brought mine, only for him to be snarled and snapped at (unantagonized) by one of the host dogs belonging to Treehouse Vineyards. I was told later from a "regular" the offending dog is a rescued stray that doesnt like other dogs! Why on earth this dog would be allowed to roam free on the grounds is beyond me (mine was leashed), it kept circling my area looking for trouble so I couldnt let my guard down to relax, which really took away from an otherwise enjoyable evening. Even though my dog is very social, submissive, and most likely wouldnt fight back, Ill be sure to leave him home next time, not worth the possibility of something bad happening - Bummer... I probably would have given this a higher rating had it actually been a dog friendly venue, with friendly dogs.

Wine 1/5 I do not know what exactly it was, but both my fiance and I thought there was just the slightest odd taste in each of their wines that was incredibly off-putting. I tried all of them, hoping the taste would go away, but it did not. I know Muscadine and Vinifera/dry wine very well...and there was something just off. Property/Views 4/5 After driving through an interesting residential area of Monroe, the treehouse and views into some ponds and barns across the way are striking, yet really relaxing after spending some time just enjoying the views. The treehouse gets very crowded, but it can be rented. Owners/Workers 2/5/5 The owners were very friendly, the man gave us the tour and shared the pleasant story of family history and how the winery came to be. Was very unimpressed with the workers proceeding with the tastings however, because they literally did not seem to know anything about wine, talked about how they did not like the wine (like all of them) as they were pouring. Tour/Extras 4/5 The tour was very informative, and again the owner led it well. We were there for a GroupOn deal and it was very crowded, but worked out okay. They do a TON of events here, and those paired with the Treehouse make it a very unique winery (and possibly the closest to Charlotte)....just wish their wine was better! Drive-worthy? Only if you want to enjoy the treehouse and property, otherwise there are definitely other muscadine wineries to be discovered.

Really disappointed with our experience at this place. We signed up for a Valentines dinner and paid $30 per person for a meal that included Salisbury steak or chicken with cornbread or biscuit, salad, green beans, and a mini cupcake for dessert. Everything was self serve with a line that included us standing outside for a good portion of the wait. Mind you, it was below freezing and we all froze our butts off waiting in line. They crammed everyone in this tent outside and unless you were lucky enough to be assigned a seat beneath the heaters you froze the whole meal. We ate with plastic plates and plastic eating utensils with a clear plastic cup for your one little portion of wine that was included. This whole event felt like an attempt to do everything as cheap as possible and not give any real value for the $60 spent for each couple to eat. They couldve at least had one person go around and collect your trash once you were done eating but no, it just piled up on your table until you saw an opportunity to maneuver through the overcrowded area to the trash can. The wine was fine, no complaint with it but nothing super special either. We regret spending our Valentines evening at this place and are certainly hesitant to return.

Found out about this vineyard while on a trip to Charlotte. Decided to drive out after hearing about it - what a great decision!! While the vineyard may not look like the pictures online at the moment, its winter and I hope to one day be able to come out when everything is lush and green! It was still a beautiful property, complete with a pair of horses and two treehouses they let us look at since they were not occupied. The tour and tasting were only $5 total, including a souvenir wine glass. The family was more than kind and exuded that "southern charm" weve come to find characteristic of this area (Im from Florida). My friends and I got wine-a-ritas to drink while exploring the property and to enjoy while sitting in rocking chairs looking out over the land (only $5 each and so worth it!!!). The tasting included 7 wines, 3 of which have received awards at the state level. So impressed by how we theyre doing after only been open for business for a bit over a year. A must see!! (The treehouses can be rented out for a couple hours for a date or for a night for a honeymoon or romantic getaway - worth researching!)

Showed up for the 4 oclock wine tour. 4:10 came and went and still the lady working behind the counter couldnt find anyone to do the tour and told us the hang she was still trying to find someone. 4:30 came and went and nothing. We finally told her we had to go eat and would be back for the 6 oclock tasting. She said when we came back, she would have someone to do the tour for us. Showed up for the 6 oclock tasting and the lady we spoke to earlier told another lady we didnt get to do the tour and the lady she spoke with agreed to take us after the tasting. Keep in mind the owner was standing right there while this whole convo was going on. After our tasting not 1 word was said about taking us on a tour by the owner or the lady who said she would take us. I wasnt mentioning it again. I figured if their customers meant anything to them, they would remember and would have said something. While their wine was fairly descent, it definitely isnt the best. We gave gone to Childers vineyards and Treehouse cant come close to their wines or customer service. I highly doubt we will ever return or recommend it.

I have visited the Treehouse Vineyards once before. The grounds are lovely, Treehouse is dog friendly and the ambiance makes the wine to my liking. 1st experience was good. On my second visit, today, I was sitting on the deck with the treehouse and one of the employee/owners (not sure which) interrupted our time by telling us a wedding party had reserved the deck and treehouse at 6:00. She told us this at 5:55. I had just gotten my dinner set up that I had purchased from the caterer, I had my dog with me and had purchased a bottle of wine earlier. So, it was a scramble to move all of this in 5 minutes. I would not have an unsatisfactory feeling about the situation, if she had given us folks on the deck, a 30 minute warning or been nice and apologetic about the fact that we would have to move and move quickly. Instead, she was abrupt and rude and did not say she was sorry for having us move to another location.
