Beautiful setting with a nice view over the grape orchard. Some really good wines. My wife and I went to several wineries today and really enjoyed this place. We tried 8 wines and were impressed with a number of them. Tasters were 4 for $5. They did not have food, but a number of patrons brought their own. It is a great place for a picnic. The server was friendly and answered questions. We tried three reds, four dry white wines and an ice wine. We tend to drink dry wines, but will have port on occasion. Of the reds, the Trinity was our favorite (it is listed as their most popular red), Karma came in a close second. Neither of us cared for the Exodus. I wish that we had tried the pinot noir. Semillon was the white that we liked the best. It had a fuller taste and was just different than other wines that Ive had. I think it was more off dry than dry. Next time I go out, Ill pick up a bottle (I wish I had on this trip). I liked the pinot grigio second and my wife like the dry riesling. The Chardonnay was the first wine that we tasted. At first we were impressed, but after comparing it to the other whites, it just wasnt as good. (If you like dry whites, you must visit Harpersfield Vineyard, which has some outstanding whites). Finally, we had never had an ice wine before, so I didnt know what to expect, nor can I compare it to other wines that Ive had. We tried the Blush Ice and I was surprised at how complex the flavors were. I was expecting something a little sweeter. Overall a very nice desert wine. Again, I cant compare it to other ice wines, all I know is that I liked it. Overall, a great place to visit. It is a beautiful setting with some really nice wines.

I consider South River Vineyard and Winery one of the many wonderful establishments that exist in Genevas scenic "Wine Country". The drive to get to South River Vineyard and Winery was a beautiful experience in itself. Once I arrived, I was in awe at how scenic and beautiful the vineyard was. I could definitely picture myself visiting again during the summer for a glass of wine while watching the sunset, its just postcard picturesque! The building where patrons can taste wine is basically a renovated church building complete with pews and stained glass windows. There is also a view of the vineyard itself and a patio that opens during the summertime overlooking. There is a generous selection of fruity, white and red wines available here, including wine sampling options. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the wine itself.

First, don’t ever think that they will rent out the pavilion like it suggests on their website. My fiancée and I inquired about having a party there a few weeks after we were married. The owner was rude and mentioned several times that he really didn’t want to rent it. Second, this is where I asked my fiancée to marry me just last weekend. I wanted the night to be perfect, so I rented a Limo which brought us to the winery. I bought a bottle of wine and also 2 of their glass so we could drink the wine in the Limo and so we would have a nice memento of that night. As we were walking back to the Limo, the owners drove up in their pick-up truck and then started accusing us of stealing their glasses. There are plenty of other wineries in the area were you feel welcome and at home. This place is NOT one of them!

My mother and I visited this winery on a Monday afternoon. Upon entering, there were multiple people at the bar waiting to order their wines. The bartender was standing facing the wall texting for at least two minutes. There were no other workers there to greet us so we had to wait for the bartender to finish texting before she turned around. She proceeded to walk up to the other customers without even acknowledging that we had entered. We did not get a greeting or even a glance. At all other wineries we went to that day, we were greeted promptly with a smile. Was really turned off by the rude service and will not return.

If you can give a "zero stars" review, I would. The owner is terrible. He yelled at me for walking on the grass. (There are no postings saying to stay off the grass or else I would have.) Then, after our large group (over 20 people) had spent ALOT of money there, he throws out the whole group because a couple of the guys went back the limo for a beer. He didnt just say that they cant drink the beer on his grounds, he made a big stinking fuss and threw all of us out. Absolutely no tact, no class, and no stars from me.

Decent wine in a beautiful setting. The indoor church area is so cool, but the outdoor area is so pretty that I have sat outside every time Ive come. They have a selection of maybe 5 reds and 5 whites by the glass, and there are a few that are good. Some are overly sweet and I would avoid. The Semillion was my favorite of those I tried. This is a place you go for the atmosphere though, it is not a fancy wine bar.

Ambiance and environment were great. Beautiful view of the fields. Overpriced at $19.00 per bottle compared with other local options. Honestly, the wines werent that great either. This place relies heavily on the gimmick of being an old church, but just doesnt deliver like some of the other local options. Also, they should figure out how to treat their area for mosquitos, we got eaten alive at dusk.

Whatever was used to wash glasses in or disinfect them was still on glasses and it tasted horrible and couldnt drink wine. It made the wine taste terrible. Server just said sorry. I felt I should have been reimbursed since I brought back the glasses full of the wine. This winery used to be one of my favorites, well it lost me as a customer.

Great vine variety with their vines very pieceful and relaxing. The winery is located in an old vintage church at first I was like whoa tbis is creappy but then the staff welcomed you with warm greetings. We had the flights which mine included trinity, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grifio, and Concord which is an ice wine..

Made a simple phone call to ask some basic questions and this crazy girl that answered basically said that she didnt have time to talk to me and hung up in my face. I called back later and she did it again. She is very rude and needs to be fired! I will NEVER go here and you shouldnt either!

This winery is ok. They were pretty busy during the hour before close. We did, however, have to wipe off our own table and clean it before we could sit. It does have a nice view outside in the back. It does have a quite cozy atmosphere.

Beautiful ambiance. This winery was converted from a church and it looks gorgeous. Come here and enjoy the scenery and relax. Im not sure if I am going to heaven but this place is pretty close to heaven on Earth. Try the Sémillion.
