Worst dinning experience ever! I live in Florida and come home once a year. Ive been here several times in the past but will never come again!!!! We arrived at the end of lunch service and I was told that I could only order lunch if the entire party of 5 ordered lunch as well, so we ordered dinner. The dinning room only had 4 other parties, but yet the service was very slow. As we were deciding on our entrees, we ordered two appetizers. Afterwards we ordered our entrees and I decided to get one of the specials. When our appetizers arrived, they were wrong. When our salads arrived, they were quite disappointing. Finally after waiting over an hour for our meals, we asked our server about our meals. She arrived several minutes later with our food. All our entrees were cold, the chicken was pink in the middle, the red skin potatoes were brown, the sauce on the veal was congealed, my fish was dry. We were told by the owner that they were behind in the kitchen and the sauce for the special was not prepared. Excuse me? If you offer a special, the sauce should have been made and the dinning room was nearly empty when we arrived. I pointed out that those dishes should have never left the kitchen, the owner continued to give excuses but never acknowledged the poor quality of the food. Since we didnt eat out dinners, we assumed wed only have to pay for the appetizers, WRONG!!! She charged us $50. Ill never come again!!!!

This was our first visit, but we came away highly from the restaurant highly disappointed. As we approached the building we had high hopes - the exterior and nearby vineyards make for a wonderful view - complete with a pond and several patio/gazebo areas. But then when we entered we were sat at a cheap, wobbly table with chairs they might have picked up at an ikea clearance sale. I got the veal parmesan and it was.. meh. The veal had a rubbery consistency, the spaghetti was overcooked, the sauce was too sweet and it was so runny it was practically soup. Certainly not what I would expect for the prices. We each had a glass of their pinot noir - it was very good! Its a shame that the waiter was so spread out taking care of tables both inside and outside that we couldnt get a second glass. Overall the restaurant feels like an after thought on their part. They make great wine at an affordable price, but the same cant be said for the restaurant. Ill keep buying their wine but I wont be returning any time soon. PS - If youre visiting from out of town, go to the local giant eagle and get a bottle from there - its $5-$10 cheaper than the restaurant store.

I just went to Ferrantes for the first time this past weekend and was incredibly dissapointed. We arrived around 830 expecting to enjoy great food and service while in a beautiful environment and entertainment. Our server was absolutly horrendous. When asked what the specials were she said they are on the front board located near the hostess stand. She paid little to no attention to our party (4 people) throughout the entire dinner. She was constantly forgetting to bring things that we requested. For example, it took 4 requests to get 1 glass of wine and 2 extra napkins. I first attempted to give her the benefit of the doubt thinking she could be new until I watched how well she handled two out of her four tables. The only thing memorable about the food itself was the prices. The meal was very bland and virtually tasteless. I do not recommend this place for the food or service; however, the wine variety truly is the only reason to take a country ride. If you love live music and wine this is the place for you. If your looking for a memorable experience DO NOT COME HERE unless you want a horrible memory.

Seven of us attended the Lobster and Leaf Dinner last night at the Winery. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event!! From the time we entered the front door everyone was so attentive. The very pleasant ladies at the reception desk greeted us and showed us directly to our table. Our Waitress Kathy G was outstanding and seemed to always be there at just the right time to make sure our every need was met. The young man (sorry I didnt get his name) that made sure our waters were always filled, empty plates were removed in a timely manner and making sure our waitress knew that we requested another bottle of Wine was also very appreciated! Everything was so organized. The Food was outstanding. Portions were plenty. The Grape Leaf wrapped Appetizer with Humus and Pita Crackers was a very nice beginning to our meal. The Lobster was sweet and tender, Petite Filets were melt in your mouth and the Root Veggies were delicious. Dessert was an Apple Crisp with Whipped Cream. MMM MMM GOOD and a very perfect ending. Thank You Chef Nina!! You certainly know your stuff!!!!

Warning: Despite the high rating, we had a problem with our event. Read all the way through. We had a reunion in the pavilion for 30-40 people. The pavilion is lovely, the food was very good, and the waitstaff was friendly, attentive and served promptly. It was a fabulous event at a very nice restaurant. The problem surfaced when it came time to settle up. We were told that we owed an additional $100 for a "pavilion fee". When it was pointed out that the written contract we signed said nothing about such a fee, Jan Getz informed us rather rudely that they "always" disclose this orally and that it is never in the contract. So there you have it. Be forewarned when signing a contract at Ferrante, it is the position of one of their employees that the written contract is superseded by whatever they think they told you. Getz suggested we take it up with Master Card. Well do just that.

Beautiful setting and good service. The space is nice indoors and out. However, the food was severely lacking both times I went. I went last time in a party of five. My dish, the Vitello alla Merlot, was good. Everyone elses was not. Three of the party got pasta that was just outrageously overcooked. It is hard to see why the kitchen would send out pasta like that for multiple dishes since it takes no time to boil more pasta. The other person got a dish that was a stack of chicken, eggplant, and cheese. However, the proportions were off, and the eggplant wasnt cooked enough. Lastly, the red sauce is far too sweet for my liking. I put this last as I understand that may just be an issue of personal taste. I will return because I like the atmosphere, but I will stick to simpler food, possibly a burger and fries if they have it.

I would like to express my thoughts on my dining experineces at Ferrante Winery, the owners, the staff, management, waitresses, etc... have been the most professional group i have came across in a winery. My husband and I have been coming here on and off for years, i have never been disappointed in a meal, price, service, and some of the servers , we just love them and they all know who they are, i dont want to embarrass anyone, lol, and the wine is good, but it has gotten much better in our opinions. Its not just that its the most beautiful large, place in harpersfield, its how they make you feel from the time you walk in until the time you leave. I would always recommend this Winery.Great Job Ferrantes and all your staff Happy holidays we will see you all soon!!!!
