Email sent to Music Box Supper Club on 1-1-2017 Happy new year! Let me start by sharing that both the bands were fabulous and that we had a very nice time celebrating. So as not to embarrass or make a scene last night, I felt it best to inform you via email. The rusty anchor could have been wonderful, however here is what went wrong, from start to end., 1. Our large table only had two menus.2. It took a very long time to get our drinks, ( perhaps there should have been one server to take our drink order and one to take our dinner order) 3. Twenty minutes after our dinner order was finally taken, the server came back telling us they ran out of steak. 4. Both my husband and I ordered salad with dressing on the side, he was served his properly, mine was served about 10 minutes later swimming in a pool of dressing. 5. We had to ask for rolls, they were hot and yummy, but I had to split one with my husband because only one basket was served to our side of the table. When we asked for more, we were told they ran out. 6.We were never offered coffee or dessert. The rest of the meal was served hot and delicious. Our server apologized many times, he was very nice, but clearly needed more back up. We spent a tremendous amount of money for a less then acceptable experience . Please contact me ,Id like to have my account credited. Thank you, Susan Response sent 1-5-2017 ( After I called to ask why there was no reply to email) Hello Susan, I received your feedback from your New Year’s Eve reservation. We are sorry you feel the service was below your expectations. After reviewing the situation with the managers and staff involved, we feel we did everything in our power to provide an excellent experience. We will not be making a refund given the entire circumstances surrounding the situation. Thank you, Mitch Grattan Really? "everything in your power to provide an excellent experience". I guess your opinion of excellence is far different than mine!

Went to see X on 9/11 and 9/12.....and had a really fun time! The place is brand new looking, hence the great decor...very Vegas style music room....nicer then the Tangiers in Akron, with tea lights and dark atmosphere lighting with reserved seating at tables, which gives one a chance to meet and interact with new people. If one would like to dance, all you have to do is get up, go to the side of the room (either side, or the back of the house. You can see perfect from any place in the room, with an elevated stage, and gives a feeling you are right there with the bands....the servers are the most happy, "how can i help you" servers Ive ever encountered in a night club/bar/concert venue, making drink getting very easy...with prices being competitive. The only drawback is the parking arrangements, which either you pay to park in the lots around the club, or on the street by Harbour Inn and walk in. The view of the River and downtown are very nice, especially if you smoke, and go outside to smoke, giving you something to look at while smokin away! The velvet chairs in the lobby are a nice touch, while you wait for other members of your party to arrive. Seems like a good addition to the rock/music/downtown Cleveland scene. Good luck!

I guess Ive always been lucky because I have always had good food at the Music Box Supper Club. Ive had the braised short ribs which are wonderful and a roasted chicken dish that no longer seems to be on the menu that was also very good. Others in my group have had the pasta dishes, truffle fries, salmon and burgers and have liked them all quite a bit. The only thing I havent cared for was the caesar salad, which was tasteless. Prices are on par with other Downtown restaurants, if not a bit lower. Please remember you are Downtown, not at the local Cracker Barrel. The beer and wine selection is good, but mixed drinks are terrible. Do not order a mixed drink! They are weak and poorly made. I tried to have a lemon drop martini one night. First of all, they dont have proper martini glasses (Why not?????) and there was no lemon in the drink. It was warm, bitter and had a slight vanilla taste. It was so disgusting I couldnt finish it and I normally never leave alcohol sitting on the table. As a concert venue, both the supper club and the concert hall upstairs are outstanding. The Music Box is my new favorite place to go for a concert and Id be giving it five stars if the mixed drinks were any good.

My sister had her wedding reception upstairs. Now in my life when things go wrong, I usually just go with it; but who keeps his hand too close to a fire? The sound coming from the speakers at the stage was insanely loud. Everyone at my table, near the stage, agreed it was unpleasant. I found it painful, truly. One person suggested they place speakers throughout the area so not all of the sound would come from one source--the back tables could have their own speakers. It was too loud to sit where we were. And not just the music, the speeches were jolting. Two of us asked the "DJ" to turn down the volume a bit and he refused. Unacceptable. My parents paid a lot of money for that reception. I made it through dinner unenjoyed, but I couldnt sit at my table any longer. When I left, my ears were ringing. Refused? Thats bad customer service. Get a better sound system. And dont say "no" to customers reasonable requests. With sound so loud, I surely suffered hearing damage. If you value your hearing, stay away. Peace.

I cannot tell a lie, I love this place! I love live music and great food, and this place has it all. Last night we sat at the bar at The Rusty Anchor, which was perfect for viewing the show because we were seated higher than the people seated at tables. The service at the bar was excellent. The bartender makes a Crazy Good Manhattan, but they have a complete wine and beer list too. Whatever yourre in the mood for they have it. We like to share an entree, and they are always willing to split the dish without the extra charge like some other restaurants do.The Music Box also has Valet parking, which is not only convenient, but practical in the winter months. Did I mention the view yet, well its pretty Awesome as well. You can look across the river to The East Side Bank of the flats, snap a photo of a large cargo ship passing by, or take a selfie with our beautiful Detroit Superior Bridge in the background. Catching a Water Taxi is easy as it is just a few steps away.

While the venue is very cool (great views of the Cuyahoga River from the second floor, industrial vibe of the interior) the food is seriously lacking. I ordered a chopped salad based on the description of the menu, and it came out of the kitchen looking and tasting bland and tasteless. It was a bowl of iceberg lettuce (the most nutritionally empty of all lettuces) covered too heavily in cheese - ugh. Flatbread pizzas were uninspiring, with meager amounts of toppings. We also tried the parmesan truffled french fries (sounds good, right?) that came out of the kitchen cold and limp. We told the waitress to take them off our bill. To the owners, Colleen and Mike Miller - I really hope your kitchen gets its act together! Creating colorful, tasty salads and flatbread pizzas isnt rocket science....the second floor was packed the night I was there, but the food has to match the enthusiasm of the room. If it doesnt, that great river location may be available for sale again.
