Not impressed at all. We had to call 3 times initially to buy tickets, the whole place is extremely unorganized, no one knows whats going on. We thought this would be something cool to go to while we were in town helping our girlfriend move. We wish we would have known it actually started at 10 instead of 9 since we were on a very tight schedule. When we asked when it started and where we were supposed to go, the bartender was just rude and talked to us like we were stupid. The whole place tries to be extremely pretentious, and the people (including staff) are very stand offish and stuck up. They are not as cool as they try to be (And they try hard) We left before the show even started, it was that bad. This place is obviously for regulars, new comers are clearly not welcome.

The Venue is the kind of place the selfish me wants to keep a secret so I can always get a good seat. :) Its a very small, cozy venue with great burlesque and other edgy, fringe shows. Ive been there several times and the performances are always well put together, irreverent, and lots of fun. The place has an underground-ish feel to it that I love. Cover is very reasonable, as are drinks from the small bar. Bring loose $1 bills for tipping the performers when they pass the bucket; they work hard to give you a good show. If you are on the prudish, easily offended side this may not be the place for you. If you enjoy life in all of its aspects, do go for a great off the wall and idiosyncratic experience.

No parking altho their website shows handicapped behind the bldg; the gate to it was shut. I had to park on the street 3 blocks down; the brick streets would not accommodate my scooter so I had to traverse with my walker and was in much pain upon arrival. The venue is an old garage that looks like its been pieced together. The seating is folding chairs crowded in like sardines with some high stools around the perimeter. It is not pleasant at all. Since a lot of the cat show was on the shallow stage, most of us could not even see it. I feel I was misled by their website and perky encouragement on the phone. That was my first and last visit.

If youre a fan of unique local theatre, The Venue doesnt get more local! Here there are two buildings separated by an outdoor lounge area; a front lobby are and bar in the front known as "Blues House," and a cabaret-style theatre in the back. Make sure to consult the parking map on their website before leaving the house. Theres a lot of construction going on over there (as of this writing).

Im glad this place is here. It is great to have a place that is open to set of all sorts. That said, the sound system was so muddy and wet so loud, much could not be understood but I still left with an earache. The liquor is bottom shelf, by their own definition, but the drinks still cost $8.00 each for an eight oz cup.

Oh my goodness, this place is so much fun. We have been there twice in the last month for the burlesque shows. The moment you walk in the door, you are treated as a friend. The shows are very enjoyable and entertaining and crowd participation is an always. This is a must see.

Wonderful space! The bartenders are courteous and professional, and the space, although intimate, is a great location for Burlesque, dance, and dramatic presentations!
