12/23/16: I approached the ticket booth with my wife; we intended on seeing the Manchester movie with our son. I asked for three tickets for the 7:15 show; the gentlemen behind the glass was incredibly disrespectful! He said, in a VERY loud voice, WE DO NOT ACCEPT $100.00 bills...they are the EASIEST to pass as COUNTERFEIT. Your employee insinuated that I was trying to enter your theater with a fake $100.00 bill. NOTE: Nothing on your website speaks to this issue; nothing at the ticket booth speaks to this issue. I showed the gentlemen my movie card and he was nothing but extremely rude. Your employee was amazingly disrespectful; he was absolutely ignorant of a few simple facts - its quite easy to check US currency with the color wand; its quite easy to check the currency in the light. I told your employee that I will NEVER, EVER enter your theater again; further, I will encourage all of my friends to find a different place to spend their $$ on movies. Rest assured, your employee ruined my night; a night out with my adult son and my wife. Beyond that, his disrespect for me was totally without cause. Im not sure what kind of business you are trying to run there; if you are trying to remain open in the face of increasing competition, your might want to hire employees that know how to treat the honest people entering your establishment. Very truly yours, Peter A. Sackett

This is by far one of my favorite movie theaters. I live on the East side however, I drive all the way to Ohio City just because I love the Capitol Theatre. Located in an absolutely beautiful historic building, this movie theater goes above and beyond normal corporate theaters. They offer an excellent selection of movies (even though theres only 3 at a time) and its always a treat when your movie is located in the main theater room. This particular theater room has lovely architecture similar to that of Severance Hall but on a much smaller scale. I love coming to the movies here solely because of the architecture and I always take my first-time friends to this theater room to see it. They also have great discount days: Mondays are $6 movies all day, they have a free popcorn day (I believe) , and Thursdays are student discount days also at $6. Absolutely worth it!

The Capitol Theatre is always my first choice of venue for seeing a movie. It is a refurbished neighborhood theater, and is one of the anchors that started the rehabilitation of the Gordon Square Arts District in Cleveland. Instead of going out to some sprawling suburban 16-screen theater owned by some out-of-town chain, you can help support a local company and a local neighborhood. It has free parking, and afterwards you can visit the local coffee shop, ice cream parlor, or one of the many bars and restaurants within walking distance. Ive seen many of the blockbuster movies there, but there are also indie and art house films, too.

I love this theater! As one of the other reviewers said, its cozy and the seats are very comfortable. I especially enjoy going on Mondays because the tickets are only $6.00. Also, I believe the candy is $1.00 off, and if you buy a small popcorn, for example, you get a small drink for free. I am glad this theater is becoming more and more popular, and I hope the attendance keeps going up and up. This is a great theater to have in Cleveland!! Also, please get their marquee card. Its free, and you can earn some free items after so many tickets purchased at the theater.

The neighborhood has become a better place since the restoration and re-opening of the Capitol! This is a charming place to see a film with the energy of decades of audiences around you. The individual movie theaters within the building vary in shape and size, as the interior has been subdivided, so each room can be a different experience. A nice selection of beverages and food at the bar is available, too. The neighborhood offers a variety of great restaurants, also, so a meal or dessert before or after the movie is easily found. I highly recommend the Capitol!

Most uncomfortable theater Ive ever been to. All the seats are very close together. I had less the 4 inches between my knees and the seat In front of me. The screen was very small compared to an AMC, and they left a light on in the exit halfway which prevented the theater from getting dark. I must add they have three different rooms. I belive two of them are identical (small crammed theater) and the big room which is where they play their more popular movie. Will try to add photos later

Great refurbished theatre in the heart of Gordon Square. Bargain days on Monday. The main screening room is spacious and rarely ever crowded. The smaller screening rooms view the screen on odd angles but are nice as well. The area is safe with things to do before or after a show. They host special events, hard to find releases, and retro-screenings of films you may never have the opportunity to see on the large screen.

Its not the best theater. Its small. The seats are uncomfortable. It might not be the cleanest. The parking lot is incredibly small. Having said that, its my favorite theater. Theres something about it. When you visit, you get history. You get atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.

Not only can you see the hits here, but you also can see most of the wonderful Indie films that often win the awards. Staff is friendly, parking convenient and there are some great small restaurants within walking distance. Makes for a fun date night or catch a morning movie before lunch.

Really. Ive place to see a film. The theater has a cool old school vibe. You can get an adult beverage and the sound and screen were very good. Not a super IMAX 3d digital dbox Shakey seat etc etc experience but very nice and in an environment way better than your typical megaplex.

By far the greatest movie theater in North East Ohio. Beautiful classic theater rooms, low prices, great staff and facilities. Its a shame that this place isnt more crowded outside of special events. Not only is it a fun novelty but an excellent theater all around.

In poor shape, theatre under construction in the midst of seeing a show. Sound was way under par in quality seeming to be coming from only one speaker behind the screen. Hardly worthy to host a show featuring the sophisticated sound of music by David Gilmour.

Love this place. They usually have all the big movies, and also some that youve probably never heard of. They also do cool screenings like Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D. Not a ton of people go here so theres usually good seats in all of the theaters.

This movie theater is a beautiful classic and Im glad we have it in town! They play some major studio films and also cult classics. Its really a lot of fun to go here and I make it my preferred theater, even though I only go a few times a year.

Movie was great, The Beguiled, prices were higher than larger Theatres with more to offer so very few people even though they now sell Beer to attract more people. Parking lot is too small for as many Businesses as they have in that area.

Theres no better classic theater in Cleveland. See a movie on the main screen. The millwork and painting are unlike anything youll see in a modern theater. Also, best collection of indie titles on the west side.
