Oh my goodness!! This place is INSANE! We did the "Lab" room this week with our group of 6, and let me start by saying that none of us had ever done an escape room, so we had no idea what we were getting into.We thought that we would get a clue and start a puzzle that would lead us from one puzzle to the next, until we were able to get out of the room. We were so wrong! The moment John left the room and we heard the door "lock" it was intense! The clock on the wall counts down time, reminding you of the sense of urgency in your mission. You start with no clues at all, and are simply left to work as a team to not just get out of the room, but to unlock one clue after another, until you finally figure out the code to escape the Lab to save the world from the Z virus. The room monitor watches and listens to your every move, which is both nerve-wrecking but also super helpful, as they make sure your group stays on-track and offers hints along the way. Everyone in our group was an asset to our mission-- it was insane to see us all running around at once working on so many different puzzles and clues! We didnt "escape" but it was a blast. Since the group is different every time and the hints along the way vary from group to group, no one ever has the same exact experience as another, which is why this place is so cool. You can tell they did their research on what the other escape rooms are doing, and Houdinis has taken that to a whole new level with how customized and detailed their missions and rooms are. I cannot wait to go back and try the Library next time. I wouldnt recommend this for small children, but anyone over the age of 12 or so would be fine. This would be a great place to bring out of towners or extended family, where you have lots of different personalities and age ranges too. So glad this is right in my backyard, and we will definitely be back soon. Keep up the good work!

My husband, my brother and I did this on my birthday just to try something new. I was skeptical especially since 26$ per person for a one hour experience seemed high. Boy was I wrong. Houdinis escape is awesome. The lobby has cool little puzzles to play with while you wait to start if you arrive early which gets your brain going. Then we were escorted back, given the premise of our room (we did the tower) and then the guy left and the clock started. No opening hint or clue, you just start figuring it out. I was surprised by that but it actually did make it more interesting to do the work on your own (with timely clues if you got stuck for very long). I kinda think it would be fun to work there because they monitor your progress with cameras and it seems like it would be interesting to see how different groups would work and think/solve to try to get out. We did not escape and I was so sure we would!!! And ironically not getting out makes me that much more excited to go back and try again to see if knowing how the process works we can make it happen next time. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something to do besides the same old, same old, it is very entertaining

Came to Houdinis Room Escape with a group of friends for a birthday party and managed to survive the Oval Office with 9 seconds left on the clock. Had so much fun, I came back the next day with my husband and did the Escape Room with 6 strangers. Had a blast both times. You become fast friends and teammates with anyone in your group, whether you knew them before or not. I felt like this place had the opportunity to be really cheesey, however the props, decor, puzzles are all top notch. Very impressed by the quality and care taken in to maintaining their spaces. Sarah was our Game Master for the Oval Office and she was so fun! Alexa was our Game Master for Escape Room and she was very sweet, too.

10 of my friends and family did Houdinis game room for my birthday. What a blast! The hosts were friendly and helpful from the minute we got there. The room was immaculate, and the puzzles were challenging without being impossible. The hour was up before we knew it, and we escaped with just 4 minutes left! The decor was so well put together, and all the small details were nothing short of impressive! Chris was our guide, and he did a fantastic job. The enthusiasm of the hosts really puts the cherry on top! And, we even got a free guest of the day gift when we escaped! It was awesome!!!! Thanks Houdinis, and thanks Chris and the crew!

This was our first time ever going to any escape room of any kind. A suggestion from our daughter. We drove seven hours from Standish MI. to the Houdinis Escape Room. I can honestly say it was way more fun than I thought it would be. First off I will start with the staff. They were very knowledgeable but more important they were some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Kudos to them. As far as the room itself. We did the "Tower" it was very challenging. Not so much that we couldnt do it with the help from our new friends(staff). We all had so much fun. We can not wait to go back. Todd Tacey

GREAT team building experience! Houdinis Room Escape opened their doors to our private group for a corporate outing. Our team was a bit skeptical at first - not being huge fans of games, but everyone had an absolute blast! We all got to work together and everyone solved something. It was great to have something for everyone. Our team was still talking about it the next day. The staff member in charge was very nice and explained everything to us. I cant wait to try another room!

We had loads of fun here. Reserved a time and a room. Out front there are cool little puzzle games to entertain while you wait. Got inside the Houdinis assistant room. Puzzles were challenging and fun. Six people split up into groups of two felt appropriate. The atmosphere was great and one of our group members got to mark an thing off of her bucket list, but no spoilers. If you are looking for an intro to puzzle rooms, this is it.

We tried the downtown scavenger hunt. Didnt help that the weather the day we went was HOT and HUMID and miserable. The directions were confusing, the computer screen was hard to see, and the pointlessness of the whole thing was quite evident. Luckily for everyone around me there was an ice cream place along the way! And we were all happy to give up and find some air conditioning.

Did the oval office escape, and it was amazing. It was obvious that they put a lot of time and effort into the room. We had a group of 8 and were barely able to escape. Id recommend this place to anyone looking to try an escape room. I wouldnt suggest starting with the oval office if youve never done one before. Its their most difficult room for a reason.
