One of my absolute favorites that Ive discovered so far. Its almost a hidden gem. I came up to visit a friend from Mobile, Alabama and while she was working she had made a list of state parks around the area, she knew I loved to be outside and explore. This was one of the parks she suggested, so I took a chance and went and I have to say Im glad to have discovered this breathtaking park. The parking can be a little tricky if you dont get there early but it almost seems like this is a hidden park in the middle of town. The Falls is an easy hike to get to and the trails are pretty good to take on the other side. Let me say the falls are breathtaking, and the fact that you can actually get into and under the waterfall is even better. There is an old Mill that you can see the parts still resting on the ground. I ended up staying all day while my friend was at work. Its that peaceful, the best part is it was also my birthday that weekend which made it even more special. I ended up going back a second time before leaving to head back to Alabama and getting in the Waterfall. I would be back in a heartbeat! Cant say enough about this beautiful hidden gem.

A word on directions to the falls if you park at Old Mill Park - there are no maps posted and even though I had researched the trails online I still took a wrong turn. To access the falls, stay on the trails that are on the same side of the creek as the parking lot. Dont go down the big hill towards the mill ruins and dont cross the covered bridge. There is a wide gravel path that bears to the left. Its a short, mostly flat walk to the falls on this path and youll pass by some picnic tables and more of the old mill ruins. At the ruins, youll end up going down some wooden steps towards the bank of the river and then you should see the falls. Keep going on the trail and there is a short, but very steep straight-down climb to get to the bottom of the falls right before the wooden observation deck. Go early so that it wont be as crowded!

Excellent Falls for Locals!!!. But some stupid fellows bringing dogs into the water. Other than that it was very fun and adventurous. Walking through the bridge and trekking to falls through little forest was amazing. But be careful when youre ready to get into that falls. The rocks are very slippery, you may get injured if you are not cautious. Scroll to falls just like 6 months baby :) otherwise youll get hurt. Go only to that falls if the temp is above 95F, i.e on very sunny day then you can enjoy more, because the water is cold. And when comes parking...it is busy on sunny days but be patient for your turn, somebody will go out, then you can park yours.

This is one of the best places to visit in Atlanta. Such a scenic place. A very shady trail where u enjoy walking on the muddy road covered with trees, sound of a waterfall, birds chirping all around. The wooden bridge across the river and the old papermill with its bricky looks makes the place all the more superb. I am surely visiting this place again...Without a doubt. Highlights:- 1. Pretty big parking - No parking fee 2. Free entry 3. Very clean place 4. Washrooms are available

I was thinking if the falls is similar to the other falls in Georgia but its little different, here we can shower and its not deep either where kids can enjoy too. Rock which is laid down at the two sides are awesome we can sit , eat and relax. Cliff jumping is one of the best thing we can do. Trailing is little scary where I saw some insects around and humming close my ears. Good that I saw before it kiss me. Other than that this place is great.

Drove by this hidden gem for years and never knew it was here. Took a photography workshop and this is one of the places they suggest as a good place to snap some landscape photos. It very much is worth it for that too. There is usually plenty of activity here with people walking, running, or even jumping in the water. So a good all around place to kick back and kill some time.

A varied, charming little hike with secrets to explore, spots to relax or swim, and views to admire. This is one of our favorite regular hikes and one we constantly recommend. With the mill, covered bridge, and falls so close to the entrance and more rewarding scenes further in, no matter who you are theres something beautifully special at Vickery Creek for you...

Very beautiful place but, overwhelmed by the amount of trash and broken glass. This wasn’t trash swept downstream by heavy rainfall this was stuff left behind. There were empty Tequila bottles left upright, a broken vodka bottle, lots of glass beer bottles and much, much more. I even saw a dirty diaper. Seriously people pick up your garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful trails and views of Big Creek. Along the trail there are placards describing the history of the old mill and surrounding town, and when you get to the end theres a man-made waterfall from the old dam. Parking can be iffy on weekends in the fall and spring (weddings), and in the summer its a popular swimming spot.

This is a beautiful area to hike, take pictures, splash in the water, and explore the ruins of the old mill and the covered bridge. The water has rapids but I dont recommend kayaking because of the rocks and other obstructions in the water. Great area to bring your dogs for a walk as well.

Surprisingly beautiful! There should be better signage directing you to falls. I almost didnt follow the trail correctly and would have missed the best part. Restrooms were a nice bonus. Great day trip! Be sure to visit historic area nearby for restaurants and shopping.

This place has a great nature trail, as well as a spot to relax in a shallow part of the Chattahoochee River. It was pretty crowded when I went, but it was still awesome. Most people seem to go there to get in the river near the waterfall.

Love love loved it. Never had been there before until a family member told me. The waterfall was beautiful and the trails were nice as well. Definitely a place to bring your family and if you like the outdoors this is the place for you.

its suce a nice hike to the top of the falls. it is one of my favorite places to go and be alone with God and all that is his. watching the kids have so much fun in the water with no electronic devices is priceless

Its a beautiful place besides all the booze and the marijuana smell from the teenagers which they mostly hang out towards the falls but you can find little decent areas to sit at down from the falls .

Amazingly high and wide waterfall. Its both exciting and relaxing to go under it. Crowded on weekends, not very clean as a result. Bring swimsuit, sunscreen and water shoes.
