My wedding reception was held at 128 a few weeks ago. I must say that Mira and JJ were absolutely wonderful to work with... always so nice and eager to help! The others, not so friendly. The reception was absolutely beautiful and I really dont have much to complain about! In fact, Ive only heard great things since the reception, and everyone raved about the food! Go with fried chicken and pulled pork and youll have happy guests:) With that said, I really only have one major issue to report: 128 created our schedule for the evening, so they were very aware that our speeches/toasts were to be held outside before coming in for dinner. When we began the toasts, the very expensive sparkling wine and glasses that my husband and I provided were nowhere to be found! I WAS MORTIFIED! How embarrassing is it to have nothing to toast with when people are toasting YOU?! We were the only ones empty-handed. It was horrible. This wasnt the only thing to go wrong, but its the only thing worth sharing. Everyone says that your wedding day cant be perfect, but with how much I paid them and the amount of communication I had with them, there is no reason that the things that did go wrong, went wrong. They also require that you rent a tent for the deck, with walls, so that they can block out the loud music from next door, just FYI. Seems like this is something they should have considered when building the deck (build your own wall so that we dont have to rent tent walls). Just an extra, unnecessary expense for us brides. Regardless of this, I did love my event there and would recommend 128 South to future brides.

128 South is a gorgeous venue and the people could not be more helpful. We had our wedding reception here and they coordinated all of the details, so you are getting an event planner as well. Once you make the decisions, you can relax and know that everything will go off without a hitch. The food is absolutely delicious. All of our guests raved about it. The servers were excellent and friendly and very attentive to us, the newlyweds. The 128 staff were fantastic about making suggestions and helping us with the timeline of the event and the layout. Everyone there had a blast and we dared not even hope for such a perfect evening. If you want the icing on your cake, hire the band Machine Gun. The dance floor was packed all night and our guests could not say enough about the band. Thanks Cherie, JJ and Katherine for an evening we will always remember as the time of our lives!

128 South was a perfect venue for our small wedding. Chere was our Day of Coordinator and she was amazing to work with throughout the whole process. The entire staff on the day of the wedding was so nice and helpful. They set up, broke down, and took care of us during the wedding. The venue was beautiful and the food was amazing! We would highly recommend this venue!

128 South is a charming venue, and just perfectly located in downtown Wilmington, NC. We had our wedding and reception there. The staff was accommodating (and I changed my mind a lot), the deejay (Brian Hood) was awesome, and the food was delicious! I have nothing but good things to say about the venue, and would highly recommend it to anyone!
