Whats not to like??? Its Hilly, with uneven lies, and wind, fog, and narrow fairways and greens that lie constantly. I love this course. Day to day, its always different. Ive been playing since the Army owned it, so Im more familiar with the layout and probably able to get up and down more consistently that a first time player who will be playing on a highly manicured, exceedingly well maintained course. I mentioned that the greens lie and it is true that there are many optical illusions to read but if you can read them the greens role true. Im a member of the Loyalty Club and that has some great perks. Fall in Love with Golf all over again at Presidio Golf Course

If you have no need to have any interaction with the staff in the pro shop on this course it would be a good course, The staff behind the counter have a terrible attitude and let the rest of the facilities down terribly. The course is actually nice but the guy behind the counter in the pro shop lets it down so much I had to come on here and rate it 1 star, I followed up with call during the week and he hung up mid conversation. I hope this review it useful to some people and at least levels their expectation of customer service from the pro shop

An old, historic, traditional tree lined golf course. Number two and four are stunners, but many holes can be categorized as such, too. Really tight golf course where you have to think about which club to use off the tee. The fairways are lined by huge, tall trees that are synonymous to San Francisco. Fees are expensive (after all, it is San Francisco), but the course is so beautiful and with the San Francisco views you dont think for one second that youve overpaid. A real treat whenever you may be in the San Francisco area.

Played the course on June 27, 2009. Got the first tee time out and everyone was very friendly. Starter gave us a quick run down on what to expect with the elevation changes and the winds. The other two players were locals so when the round started they gave us the hints and tips all over the course. Course was in very good condition and we definitely needed to adjust for the elevation. Overall very pretty course and just right for me. Some challenging holes in the back nine. Definitely would play again.

Great course and amazing staff. I have been golfing here for the past two years and have had only good experiences. They do have some weird rules about where you can drive the carts but other then that they have been doing massive improvements here. they redid my favorite par three #4 and they have redone most of the sand traps. They have also cleared a bunch of the trees to give the course more sun. A beautiful course with amazing deals like players club and resident and nor cal rates.

The course was in good shape, but there are too many blind shots. The staff was as rude as Ive ever experienced. The worst part of the day was the carts and their awful GPS, which will only run at 2mph starting at 150yds out. I understand regulating cart use w in 75-100 yards, but 150 is unreasonable. The carts would also stop working at completely random areas of the course, saying that the area was restricted. Total joke. So many better options around.

I agree--the greens are not high quality, but the scenic treats far outweigh the missed putts. (Yeah--its the greens, not the player ;-) Greens fees are a bit steep for nonresidents--but--hey--this is San Francisco...I spent much more on a nice dinner for two with a bottle of wine the night before. Got an enjoyable 18 holes on a crowded Sunday morning in just over 4 hours--as nice a pace of play as my home club. Well worth the visit..

Have only used the driving range so far, the course itself looks fun and well kept but I have no played it. The driving range is a nice spot with plenty of space, even on a busy Saturday morning. Staff was fine and helped orient me with their system. The range is a little walk from the clubhouse, so make sure you have $1, $5, or $10 bills for the ball machine - or purchase a voucher at the clubhouse before hitting the driving range.

Ive played here hundreds of times and love the layout and it plays great when in good condition. But yesterdays round was unacceptable. Over 5 hours for 16 holes. Marshall was on us first 3 holes with no where to go. Then disappeared. Group in front of us was 2 holes behind by the 10th hole. Im glad I got the local rate. If I would have paid $130 for a 5 hour 16 hole round I would have been pissed.

Paid 160 bucs today for unfriendly staff and ROCK SOLID GRAVEL bunkers. worst on the entire peninsula. I started picking my ball up and taking a drop so I wouldnt ruin my clubs by hitting it out of the adobe bunkers. I want some of my money back, but Im not about to be that guy. Overall, it was a great course to play on a nice day, but NOT worth the $$.

This golf course is really nice and a great play but is really noisy, particularly on the front 9. It sits right alongside Park Presidio just before the tunnel leading up to Golden Gate bridge. Lincoln Park offers a much quieter round with stunning views (although the course is much shorter, easier and much less well maintained).

Really well maintained public course, lots of fun to play, with discounts for SF and NorCal residents Twilight specials during summer are awesome. Can get very cold and windy, though, so plan accordingly. Bunkers are mostly dirt, not sand, but overall the course is in good shape.

$125 rip off. Worse greens (extremely slow AND bumpy) I have played in years; In my book, bunkers have sand, not just dirt. Unfriendly pro shop staff. I have brought a guest from Europe here, just to be embarrassed by the poor experience. Will not play here ever.

Even if you are only a casual golfer it is definitely worth checking out. There are some very challenging holes, but they are offset by the gorgeous views available on some of them. The course offers a great test for intermediate and advanced players as well.

Great course! Reminds me of the Lake Course at The Olympic Club. We were greeted by golf staff with a cart in the parking lot to pick up our clubs, staff was great, food was good and pace of play was right on the 4 hour mark. Great experience all around!

Terrible experience. I paid $50 for the round, which you think would be a value, but it wasnt worth it. Course maintenance is sub par and the management was awful. Each hole had at minimum 2 groups, usually 3. We stopped playing after 4 holes and left.

Course is in amazing condition for the winter. I think they have made some major improvements with the drainage and overall conditions from the last reviewers. Such a bargain if you look into there specials and frequent player deals. Two beers Free!

I cant speak for the golf course because Ive never finished all 18 holes, but I will say the driving range and Long Island Iced Teas from the bar is a great day all by itself. Also, the golf clinics and lessons are great if youre new to the game.
