HOW WAS YOUR THUG/CULTURAL EXPERIENCE THIS VISIT? Theater is very old, very dated. Id call it clean as I would a Motel 6.. its not filthy but everything in there is from the early 90s. Tickets are cheap at $2.25 a piece.. But I remember when everyone called this the "dollar fifty" theater. Dont go on weekends or after 3pm because theres as another reviewer put it "a line of thug wannabes waiting to get in". They drive up in their $2000 junkers with $10,000 rims, pants sagging and the big "baller" hats on and act just as youd expect. Its really a shame but I will not go to this theater for that very reason during those times. God forbid one of these guys would dress up in a suit or just dress up as they would going to a job interview(LOL just kidding we know thats not gonna happen) or to church with just some khakis and a polo.. Its sad that a certain community in your great nation is being overtaken by the thug culture which is a stain on not only their community but mine as well.. ACT and LOOK civilized please. No racism is meant here.. theres quite a few White Kid Thug Wannabes in that line too. Popcorn is good, prices inside on the food and drink are OK but not great. Please understand this theater is just over $2 for a reason..

Come on now lets not pussyfoot around about this establishment yes the tickets are cheap yes the pricing on items is commendable but lets be clear. Youre eating stale popcorn that they popped hours ago. There are broken seats in a few theatres and even an arm is coming off one of them. The floors are greasy I almost busted my ass because of that. It has a moldy smell on a few of the seats! And one of the managers crystal is a real snob she does underhanded things. I heard her yelling and calling another manager demeaning names and even talking to him in demeaning ways. Not only that she disrespects the employees that works around her. While I was in line getting a combo she completely snapped at one of the employees. I dont see why no one reports her. I wouldnt take any disgust and disrespect from a manager! Treat your employees how you would like to be treated! Im going to report her because its ridiculous! On top of that why is she always flirting with several men that come into the theater? Flaunting her cleavage around. Thats disgusting! Um families come here with their children no one wants to see that. She should be fired. I feel utterly bad for the employees that work with her they look really uncomfortable.

Cant beat the price. It is currently $2.50 per ticket (up from $2 in 2013) You just wait about 3-4 months after a new release has been playing in regular theaters and tada- its at the Carmike! Its that time span when the movie is usually no longer in theaters, but not yet on DVD; so if you are one of those people that likes to watch a movie over and over you will still find that movie here during that time. I dont mind the wait to see a movie for such a cheap price. The theater is in good shape, the snacks you expect are all there. Its a movie experience for those of us on tight budgets. Beware concessions- they are the same price as normal movies. (I assume this is how they make up for the cheap ticket prices.) BUT- if you are one of those people that HAS to have popcorn for the movies you are in luck. For about $15 you can buy a bucket (it looks like the old ice cream buckets with the red handles) and fill it with you choice(s) of pop corn from butter, regular, cheddar, or caramel. AND then you take the bucket home and wash it. Bring it with you to the next movie outing and they will fill it again for about $4.50! Cant beat it!

My wife and I love movies but find we dont have always get to see the ones we like before coming here - which is GREAT! We moved to Raleigh a year ago, came here not knowing it was so cheap, and its just wonderful. Sure, we get a bit better experience when we pay $50 at another place, but were just as happy (happier?) to come here and, for just $13.50, we get 2 tickets, a large popcorn, and 2 large sodas. Seriously, that is a great deal. The people are polite, and we are always greeted with a smile at the snack bar. So, either the people complaining about poor service just got a bad person on a bad day, or they themselves are just difficult and love to complain. About the people commenting on monkeys and idiots that go to this theater, well, YOU went to this theater, so I guess that makes YOU idiots and monkeys. Anyway, go here, see a movie, and save a ton of cash so you can go eat out before or after. Also, if you come to the first showing, it is almost always empty (there goes our secret!).

I love this place and have been coming here ever since I moved to the Raleigh area. Good prices and good people. Im giving 4 stars for the wonderful experience and thats what Im rating. BUT I would like to ask the owner to maybe take more care of the theater please. The place is looking a little run down. When you first walk in it looks like your typical movie theater but once you walk past the ticket stand o…m…g. The seats have either holes, duck tape on them or are dirty with obvious food and drink spillage and gum. Nobody wants to sit in gum. The heat never worked during the winter so the entire theater was cold. Staff has no care to clean between movies or its just. It getting done. Bathrooms always smell like a sewers. This place just needs a bit of tlc. Thanks

I am just posting this review due to some of the really negative view points I have seen expressed about this establishment. For instance, one of the cons expressed by someone was a lot of people that go here to see a movie after three pm and on the weekends are of the ghetto persuasion. How can that alone keep you from going to this theater? Because they dress differently than you? Because their priority as far as a vehicle goes is the rims and not eighty thousand dollars for the car... they are still people just like you and me. Maybe we (patrons of this theater) are better off not having your judgemental attitude ruining the vibe here. Also the theater is not run down or dirty its a standard movie theater. Lets all get along.

Im actually inside of the movie theater as Im writing this review. I am with my nephew. The prices are really high especially for food that is mediocre. The pretzel was just put in the microwave....it doesnt taste like its genuine at all even my nephew said it still didnt taste all the way done either. I can get a better pretzel at places like Sams club.I also ordered nachos with cheese & jalapenos. The jalapeno didnt have good taste and smelled a bit off. There is a smell that is a bit off in the movie room. I also noticed the seats were dirty looking. The best was the popcorn. This place has definitely changed from just a couple years ago. Now Im watching the legend of Tarzan and its a noise and its a bit distracting!
